"How is it?"
Ivan asked the moment Elliot stepped inside the car. The guy didn't say anything; he just closed the door and cocked his chin to the road. "Drive first," he said, quiet and stern.
"Alright," Ivan wasted no time and stepped on the gas. "Doesn't seem good, then."
Elliot glanced at the house one last time before it disappeared behind trees and walls. "Did you see the CCTV?"
"The one in the gate and the door? It's a bit excessive, but quite normal, no?"
"I'm not sure about it, but I glimpsed another one inside," Elliot grabbed a bottle of water from the glove compartment. "I don't know...the vibe is just off."
Ivan narrowed his eyes. "Tell me."
Elliot took a few seconds to drink his water while gathering his thoughts. He couldn't say he was a detective or anything, but as someone whose work was to deal with people, Elliot prided himself on reading the air and sensing a vibe from someone's attitude.
