The webnovel is no longer on hiatus! And it seems to have reached its final episode!
On march 29th, 8 new webnovel chapters were published on faloo.com: chapters #665 to #672. The last one—chapter #672—is labeled 大结局, big ending (it would be written 大結局 in traditional Chinese and it is pronounced jiéju in Mandarin). I can't access these latest chapters yet, we shall confirm in a near future that this story finally came to an end.
This webnovel had been on hiatus for more than 2 years with very rare updates. Chapter #664 had been uploaded on May 31st 2025. There has been a ten months break which ended in march 29th 2026. There are now 672 webnovel chapters on the official Chinese website, faloo.

In the Battlefield arc, the webnovel was more detailed, coherent, fun, and interesting than the manhua. The manhua was actually really bad.

More detailed comments
The manhua started nicely, with good drawings and a good storytelling pace. But lately the manhua chapters felt weird and silly, like they were drawn and written by kids who don't give a fuck if the story makes sense or not, if it's interesting or not. Some chapters were rushed, as if the manhua team wanted to get rid of that project asap; they felt parodic and absurd, like a humorous sped up video. Some chapters felt slow, empty and boring.
The webnovel makes much more sense! It is more coherent and entertaining! So, even if you already read the manhua you can start reading the novel from the first chapter of this arc, #530. Note that Sheng leaves the battlefield region in chapter 592 "Out of the battlefield" but his new journey starts before that, in chapter #580.

As of march 30th 2026, there are 306 published manhua chapters. Manhua chapter #306 corresponded to webnovel chapters #578 and #579 (first half only). The manhua will reach the end of the Battlefield arc in chapter #307.
At the current pace, there might be around 5 months left until the manhua reaches webnovel chapter #672, which seems to be the end of the story.
The current average pace is 1 manhua chapter for 2 novel chapters. It has been the average pace from the beginning (300 manhua chapters for around 600 webnovel chapters). There are around 90 novel chapters left (#580-#672).

Maybe the author worked on the manhua during the past few years..? (The manhua felt rushed and poorly written lately though.) Maybe the author will publish new chapters soonish since the manhua is getting closer to the end of the currently published webnovel..?

Manhua chapter #307 corresponds to novel chapter #580. There are around 92 novel chapters left, which might mean around 50 manhua chapters and 25 weeks. Note that the novel is much more consistent and pleasant to read than the manhua which was good in the beginning and stupid lately. I shared my translation on web novel dot com.
