This is a glossary for "Logging 10,000 Years into the Future: the Battlefield arc" translated by dhoo. The author of the original Chinese novel is very creative, as I explained in the foreword to chapter #530, and I felt like a glossary would be more convenient to use than endless translation notes at the end of every chapter.
The apostrophes help find keywords faster in this long glossary. You should probably use your browser's "find" feature to look for specific keywords (with a keyboard, you can use shortcuts like Ctrl+F or Cmd⌘+F) and type *keyword, for example *Hunting Bow.
trad. means traditional Chinese characters, as opposed to simplified Chinese Characters.
My use of capitalized letters for words that are usually not capitalized in English means that a phrase (place, technique, etc.) has been coined by the author for this novel. For example, Lu Sheng is a name, it's a proper noun, it's normal to capitalize it, just like the words Earth or Asia would be capitalized if the author used them (he doesn't). But Blue-Cosmos Star Core is a phrase the author invented.
For example, let's take a look at the item "Star Region - 星区 (trad. 星區), xīng qū: 星 star/planet 区 region/district/area". The phrase Star Region is specific to this novel, it can be written 星区 with simplified Chinese characters or 星區 with traditional Chinese characters and it is pronounced "xīng qū" in Mandarin.
Standard Mandarin is one of the official languages of China; it is spoken by around 900 million people in China and 1.2 billion people around the world. The author probably speaks Mandarin (please tell me if you have more information about it) and he wrote this novel using simplified characters, which is the norm in mainland China. But the version I have uses traditional characters, which is the norm in Taiwan.
(x17) means that a phrase appears 17 times in the 147 chapters I analyzed. I looked for word occurrences in chapters #500-#646. The story arc that I named the Battlefield arc corresponds to chapters #530-#579. I found it interesting to also scan some of the chapters before this arc, and all the chapters I could access after this arc. I also started translating the next arc.
*Star Spirit Flower (x190, #595) means that chapter #595 is the first chapter where the term "Star Spirit Flower" is used.
I only scanned chapters #500 to #646.

-
*zombie (x10, first arc) - 丧尸 (trad. 喪屍), sàngshī: 丧尸 zombie (compound word, 丧 funeral + 尸 corpse). - In the Dream Space Universe, Lu Sheng meets zombies of martial artists who are aimlessly roaming around 10,000 years in the future after the calamity has occurred. - See chapter #533. - I found 10 occurrences of 喪屍 in chapters 503, 513, 516, 526, 533, 534, 539, 588, 600 (x2). - The author doesn't use the word jiangshi, 僵尸 (trad. 殭屍), jiāngshī: 殭屍 jiangshi (Chinese mythology zombie)/walking dead (compound word, 僵 stiff + 尸 corpse).
-
the *Calamity (x7, first arc) - The name given to the predicted big scale invasion of Lu Sheng's universe by the alien beasts of the Dark Side universe, which might lead to the death of all lifeforms in his universe. The invasion had already started at the beginning of the story but it might drastically worsen three to four years after the Battlefield arc. Only Lu Sheng seems to know about it. - 劫难 (trad. 劫難), jiénàn: 劫难 calamity (compound word) - See chapter #530 - I found 7 occurrences of 劫難 in chapters 530 (x2), 576 (x2), 578 (x2), 617. - 浩劫 (trad. idem), hàojié: 浩劫 calamity (compound word) - I found 4 occurrences of 浩劫 in chapters 600 (x3), 654.
See chapter #530. Quotes from that chapter: "the great calamity looming over everyone", "prepare for the impending calamity four years hence or for even greater apocalyptic threats in the future"
-
Universe Source aka Universe Origin
Lu Sheng often uses the Power of the Universe Source in the Dream Space. This AI like Power does all the complicate thinking for him.
宇宙本源 (trad. idem), yǔzhòu běnyuán: 宇宙 universe 本源 source/origin - I found 27 occurrences of 宇宙本源 in chapters 516, 519 (x2), 521 (x2), 523, 526 (x5), 528, 534 (x2), 569, 579, 581, 583, 584 (x3), 585 (x2), 597 (x2), 599, 620.
-
*Alien Beast (x368, early arcs)
The beings from the Dark Side Universe. There is lots of them in the battelfields between the that universe and Lu Sheng's universe, but there were also Alien Beasts that reached other places like the azure planet through interdimensional gates/cracks. Like martial artists, they can be level 10, 12, 14, etc.
异兽 (trad. idem), yì shòu: 异 alien 兽 beast
-
*spaceship (x408, Yamu arc)
There are of course a lot of spaceships involved in the Yamu, Battlefield, and Hunting Bow story arcs. Some are recruitment ships, some are warships, some are merchant ships, etc.
spaceship - 飞船 (trad. 飛船), fēichuán: 飞船 spaceship (compound word: 飞 fēi space + 船 chuán ship) - I found 408 occurrences of 飛船 in chapters 501, ..., 530 (x2), ..., 608 (x31), ..., 635.

-
the *Void (x211, Yamu arc)
Another key concept of this story. The void is the multy-layered fabric of space. Strong martial artists can break it and the number of layers they can pierce through indicates their strength. Spaceships can Space Jump or create and use Space Gates.
虚空 (trad. 虛空), xūkōng: 虚空 smpty/hollow/void/empty space (compound word: 虚 void 空 air)
I found 211 occurrences of 虛空 in chapters 500 (x6), ..., 534, ..., 575 (x8), ..., 646 (x2).

-
Note about cosmic placenames: In this story, solar systems (stars, planets and other heavenly bodies) are grouped in Star Regions like Yamu or Polo, which are grouped in Star Districts like Hundred Great or Hunting Bow, which are parts of galaxies, which are grouped in Star Domains. For example, Lu Sheng's "address" during the Battlefield arc might be: Earl Lu Sheng, planet Pregnancy, Yamu Star Region, Hundred Great Star District, Celestial Serpent galaxy, Celestial Billow Star Domain.
-
*star or *planet (x2157, first arcs) - 星 (trad. idem), xīng: 星 star/planet/... - All stars and planets in this story are called xīng; several planets have specific names, but I'm not sure there are stars with specific names. See planet Pregnancy, planet Moordoor, etc.
-
*starry sky
星空 (trad. idem), xīngkōng: 星空 starry sky (compound word, 星 star + 空 void/open/space)
-
*universe (x373, first arcs) - 宇宙 (trad. idem), yǔzhòu: 宇宙 universe (compound word, 宇 room/universe + 宙 universe) - Three universes are mentioned in this story. Lu Sheng's universe which doesn't have a name, the Dark Side universe which is threatening to invade and destroy it, and the Dream Space universe which is a simulation of Lu Sheng's universe 10,000 years into the future.
-
*Star Region (x261, Yamu arc) - 星区 (trad. 星區), xīng qū: 星 star/planet 區 area/region/etc. - A Star Region is a little part of a galaxy which still contains countless stars and planets; Star Regions are grouped in Star Districts; star regions are managed by Speakers like Dunlop or Hobert; Star Regions belong to Star Districts. - See chapter #530. See Yamu, Polo, Sawyer.
I found 255 occurrences of 星區 in chapters 500 (x2), 501 (x13), ..., 530 (x3), 531 (x5), ..., 566 (x8), 567 (x11), ..., 577 (x7), ..., 581 (x13), ..., 590 (x12), ..., 593 (x12), 594 (x6), ..., 621 (x6), 622 (x5), ..., 635 (x3), 640.
-
*Star District - this term was not translated from Chinese, I coined it for translation and explanation purposes - A star district is a cluster of star regions; a star district belongs to a galaxy. See Hundred Great and Hunting Bow.
-
*galaxy (x84, Yamu arc) aka Stellar System - 星系 (trad. idem), xīngxì: 星系 galaxy (compound word 星 star/planet + 系 system) - A galaxy is a cluster of Stellar Districts; a galaxy belongs to a Star Domain. See Celestial Serpent galaxy.
-
*Star Domain (x14, Yamu arc) - 星域 (trad. idem), xīng yù: 星 star/planet 域 fief/territory/domain/... - A Star Domain is a cluster of galaxies; the only one we know so far is the Celestial Billow Star Domain.
-
*Network and *StarNet (x6, Yamu arc)
See chapter #596: "Lu Sheng located the Starry Sky Network within the room. This network was far more advanced than the one he had encountered in the Yamu star region. The total coverage area exceeded three thousand star regions. He easily found what he was looking for."
Starry Sky Network - 星空网路 (trad. 星空網路), xīngkōng wǎnglù: 星空 starry sky 网路 network - [In Taiwan, 网路 (trad. 網路), wǎnglù: network - Everywhere else, 网络 (trad. 網絡), wǎngluò: network] - I found 5 occurrences of 網路 wǎnglù in chapters 527, 596 (x2), 624, 626.
StarNet - 星网 (trad. 星網), xīng wǎng: 星 star 网 net - I found 3 occurrences of 星網 in chapters 578, 579, 590.
It seems the author broke the 4th wall with Huang Ji's last words in chapter #578: "If there's a next life, I suggest you read less of those boring novels on the StarNet." The author is a troll :) Well, he seemed fun and carefree/nonchalant in his few comments about the hiatus.
-
Space Jump (x23, #537)
空间迁跃 (trad. 空間遷躍), kōngjiān qiān yuè: 空间 space 迁 move 跃 jump
I found 23 occurrences of 空間遷躍 in chapters 537, 596 (x5), 598 (x2), 599 (x4), 600 (x2), 602 (x2), 603, 605, 606, 608 (x3), 621.
-
*Star Spirit Flower (x190, #595) aka Xing Ling Hua - 星灵花 (trad. 星靈花), xīng líng huā: 星 star 灵 quick/spirit/etc. 花 flower - I found 190 occurrences of 星靈花 in chapters 595 (x4), 596 (x12), 597 (x8), 598 (x14), ..., 606 (x12), 607, 608 (x20), ..., 618 (x10), ..., 621 (x11), 622 (x17), ..., 646. See Occurences for the full list.
1) the *Star Spirit Flower merchant guild (x17, #595) - A powerful merchant guild / family trading goods across the galaxy. - 星靈花商會, xīng líng huā shānghuì: 星靈花 SSF 商會 chamber of commerce - I found 17 occurrences of 星靈花商會 in chapters 595 (x4), 596, 597 (x4), 598, 606, 608, 621 (x2), 622 (x3).
2) the *Star Spirit Flowerspaceship (x132, #596) - A gigantic, Immortal-Class spaceship capable of performing space jumps, as big as "a dozen azure planets". - 星灵花号 (trad. 星靈花號), xīng líng huā hào: 星灵花 SSF 号 (particle indicating a ship name) - I found 132 occurrences of 星靈花號 in chapters 596 (x10), 597, 598 (x13), ..., 606 (x11), 607, 608 (x18), ..., 618 (x6), ..., 631.
3) the *Star Spirit (#597) - A planet-feeding flower. See chapter #597
4) the *Star Spirit Flower family (x28, #608) - It was introduced as a merchant guild (595-622) and then shifted to being more of a family (608-634) with powerful scheming family elders like the Lyresas family. - 星灵花家族 (trad. 星靈花家族), xīng líng huā jiāzú: 星灵花 SSF 家族 family - I found 28 occurrences of 星靈花家族 in chapters 608, 609, 612, 617 (x3), 618 (x4), 621, 622 (x11), 625 (x2), 626, 629, 630, 634.
Because of the description of the purple flower symbols on the spaceship and the explanations given later about the real planet-feeding flower, I felt like I should translate Xing Ling Hua into English without adapting it: "Star Spirit Flower". There are other possibilities of course like "Celestial Flower" family, but then what would we call the actual "Star Spirit" flower... a "Celestial"? Why not. It does sound fancy (maybe too fancy for such a scary flower!). What do you think?
Chapter #596 tells us that "Only a super-powerful guild like the Star Spirit Flower, backed by one or more level 14 experts and conducting business spanning the entire galaxy, could afford and qualify [for the purchase of an Immortal-class spacecraft]."
Question: Merchant guild, merchant family, trade association, another name, what do you think? Well, the author replied to my initial question by writing "family" from chapter #608 on. According to chapter #597, the Star Spirit Flower is both a merchant guild and a large family made of the descendants of the founder who had "found a Star Spirit flower during a space voyage".
-
*Star Gate (x14, #595)
See chapter #596 for Haiji Dao's explanation of the meaning of Star Gate including a comparison with Space Jump.
星门 (trad. 星門), xīng mén: 星 star 门 gate
I found 14 occurrences of 星門 in chapters 595, 596 (x9), 598, 599 (x3).
-
*Space Pirates (x138, #596) aka Star Pirates - Space pirates are, well, space pirates. - 星盗 (trad. 星盜), xīng dào: 星 star/etc. 盗 pirate - I found 138 occurrences of 星盜 in chapters 596 (x7), ..., 606 (x19), 608 (x14), ..., 611 (x29), ..., 616 (x14), ..., 618 (x2). - Space pirates are described as "starry sky hyenas" in chapter #598 - 星空鬣狗 (trad. idem), xīngkōng liègǒu: 星空 starry sky 鬣狗 hyena
-
Death Ray Cannon - 死光炮 (trad. idem), sǐ guāng pào: 死 death 光 light 炮 cannon - I found 8 occurrences of 死光炮 in chapters 582 (x5), 586, 603, 611.
-
>>> places <<<
-
the *Dream Space/Universe (x57, first arc) aka *Dream World has different Chinese names.
I found 57 mentions of the Dream Space/Universe, in chapters 502, 503 (x2), 513, 519, 521, 522 (x2), 525, 526 (x3), 527, 528, 533 (x2), 538, 539 (x2), 563, 568 (x2), 569 (x2), 571, 579, 580 (x2), 581, 583 (x2), 584, 585, 586, 587 (x2), 588, 597 (x3), 599 (x2), 600 (x6), 602 (x2), 619, 620 (x4), 634, 643. I included "Dream Space" 夢境空間 and "Dream Universe" 夢境宇宙
1) the *Dream Space Universe (x29) - 梦境空间宇宙 (trad. 夢境空間宇宙), mèngjìng kōngjiān yǔzhòu: see chapters #533 and #568.
I found 29 occurrences of 夢境空間宇宙 in chapters 568, 579, 580 (x2), 581, 583 (x2), 584, 585, 586, 587 (x2), 588, 597, 599 (x2), 600 (x6), 602 (x2), 619, 620 (x3), 634.
2) the *Dream Space (x22 on its own and x29 within Dream Space Universe) - 梦境空间 (trad. 夢境空間), mèngjìng kōngjiān
I found 51 occurrences of 夢境空間 in chapters 502, 503 (x2), 513, 519, 521, 522 (x2), 525, 526 (x3), 527, 528, 533 (x2), 538, 539 (x2), 563, 568, 571, 579, 580 (x2), 581, 583 (x2), 584, 585, 586, 587 (x2), 588, 597, 599 (x2), 600 (x6), 602 (x2), 619, 620 (x4), 634.
3) the *Dream Universe (x6) - 梦境宇宙 (trad. 夢境宇宙), mèngjìng yǔzhòu: 梦境宇宙
I found 6 occurrences of 夢境宇宙 in chapters 568, 569 (x2), 597 (x2), 643.
I'm not sure when these terms appeared since I scanned only chapters #500 to #646. Both "Dream Space Universe" and "Dream Universe" might be introduced later, in chapter #568.
-
planet *Azure (x50, first arcs) aka "the azure planet", planet Weilan, Azure Star - 蔚蓝星 (trad. 蔚藍星): wèilán xīng: 蔚蓝 azure/sky blue (compound word, 蔚 exuberant + 藍 blue), 星 planet - The planet where Lu Sheng was born and raised. - See chapter #530
藍 lán is blue, 藍色 lánsè is blue color, 蔚藍 wèilán is azure. Planet Earth is nicknamed 藍色星球 the blue planet in Chinese and English. Lu Sheng's native planet is the azure planet, it's not our planet but it is a similar one. In many translated versions, it is called "Azure Star" since 星 can mean star or planet, but it's definitely a planet and not a star.
See Occurrences.
-
the *Dark Side (x69, fist arcs)
阴暗面宇宙 (trad. 陰暗面宇宙), yīn'àn miàn yǔzhòu: 阴暗 dark (compound word, 阴 yīn overcast/yin/feminine + 暗 dark/hidden), 面 face/aspect 宇宙 universe
Specific uses: Dark Side universe (x42), Dark Side Stellar Dao (x14), Dark Side Martial Knowledge (x2), Dark Side Doppelganger (x2), Dark Side force, Dark Side lackey, Dark Side bedbug (one of my favorite must say), Dark Side energy
-
the *White Mist Star Region (Yamu arc) - The Star Region of planet Azure. An official from Yamu Star Region somehow stole Lu Sheng from White Mist and all inhabitants of planet Azure were relocated in Yamu, so White Mist was forgotten.
-
*Yamu (Star Region, x38, Yamu arc) aka *Little Wood, Little Forest, *Sub-Jupiter, or Yam. Full name: *the Yamu Star Region, the Little Forest Star Region
Yamu is a Star Region located near the White Mist Star Region and near planet Azure. Yamu is the Star Region where the Outer Space part of this webnovel really starts and I gave its name to the Yamu story arc. In the Yamu arc, Sheng's family moves from planet Azure (in the White Mist Star Region) to planet Pregnancy (in Yamu Star Region). During the Battlefield arc and the Hunting Bow arc, they stay on that planet while Lu Sheng is away on his epic cosmic journey.
亞木星區, yà mù xīng qū: 亞 second/inferior/Ya (surname), 木 wood, 星 star, 區 region/district
Note that 木星 mùxīng also means Jupiter and some English versions of the manhua call this place the Sub-Jupiter region. It's one possible interpretation, but then you lose the "Star Region" part ("xīng qū"). Other possible names would be Second Wood, Little Wood or Little Forest. What do you think? I like Little Wood and Little Forest, it's really cute.
I found 38 occurrences of 亞木 in chapters 500, 501, 503, 505, 507 (x2), 508, 515, 517 (x6), 518, 519, 522, 526, 527 (x2), 535 (x2), 542, 566 (x2), 567 (x3), 576, 596, 601 (x2), 621 (x2), 622 (x2), 623, 635.
See chapter #530
-
planet *Pregnancy (x24, Yamu arc) aka planet Yangtai - 养胎星 (trad. 養胎星), yǎng tāi xīng: 養 raise/support/give birth, 胎 fetus, 星 star/planet - The planet where Lu Sheng's family lives (Tournament arc, Battlefield arc, Hunting Bow arc). - See chapter #530. - I found 24 occurrences of 養胎星 in chapters 518, 519, 524 (x2), 529 (x8), 530 (x7), 542, 623 (x4).
-

The galaxy this story is taking place in. The Celestial Academy is located at the center of this galaxy in the Hunting Bow Star District.
天蛇星系 (trad. idem), tiān shé xīngxì: 天 sky/heavens/heavenly/celestial 蛇 snake, serpent 星系 galaxy (compound word, 星 star +系 to be/system/to tie) - I found 90 occurrences of 天蛇 in chapters 522 (x3), ..., 562, ..., 625 (x4), 626 (x5), ... 635 (x8), 641 (x12), ..., 646 (x4).
-

百大 (trad. idem), bǎi dà: 百 hundred 大 great - See Occurences.
百大星區 Hundred Great Star Regions (x66) aka the Hundred Great Star District
百大戰區 Hundred Great Battle District (x13)

-
the *Celestial Throne Academy (x24, Yamu arc, #522) aka *Tianwei Academy or *Celestial Academy
天位学院 (trad. 天位學院), tiān wèi xuéyuàn: 天 sky/heavens/heavenly/celestial 位 wèi (see below) 学院 institute/academy/college (compound word, 学 learn/study/science 院 courtyard/institution) - 位 wèi could mean position/location/spot, title/official position, seat/seating, throne/royal seat, rank/grade/status, standard/rule - I found 24 occurrences of 天位學院 in chapters 522, 577 (x3), 580, 586, 588, 591, 601, 621, 622, 625, 633, 635 (x3), 637 (x4), 638, 640, 641, 642.
Question: What do you think, what would you call it?

This name was introduced in chapter #595 in the conversation between Haiji Dao and Zi Yanxin. In chapter #596, Lu Sheng looks it up in the star network:
["The Hunting Bow is another name for the center of the Celestial Snake Galaxy. The entire Hunting Bow covers over ten star regions. On this stellar map..." Lu Sheng stretched out his hand and enlarged the star map before him. The star band that appeared did indeed resemble a bow.]
I found 48 occurrences of 狩獵之弓 in chapters 595 (x4), 596 (x6), 601 (x2), 602 (x3), 603 (x2), 605, 608, 609 (x2), 615, 617 (x3), 618, 620 (x2), 621 (x7), 623 (x3), 624, 625 (x2), 626 (x2), 627, 629, 631, 634, 646.

Note about Chinese names: Lu Sheng is the main protagonist of this story. Lu is his surname (family name) and Sheng is his given name (first name). In English, first names come first... should I call him Sheng Lu? Hmm, no. I feel like honoring the Chinese way by keeping it as is. Most manhuas I saw made the same choice, they called him "Lu Sheng".
Note about translation questions: Some characters are quite important, their names are used in many chapters, what we call them matters, and it's hard to decide what to call them in English, which is why I asked a bunch of questions. Sarl, Saya Tang Dun, Anon Turing, Hai Ji Dao, etc. Unlike countless other characters who fall into oblivion after half a chapter, their names are used a lot and a nice translation will only make reading easier as well as more pleasant.

Characters introduced in the Yamu arc (Outer Space arc and Tournament arc)
-
*Dunlop (x58, Outer Space arc) aka *Speaker Dunlop
Dunlop is the Speaker aka head of the Yamu Star Region. His name, Dunlop, literally means "Cosmic Den Luo". - 邓洛普议长 (trad. 鄧洛普議長), dèng luò pǔ yì zhǎng: 邓 Deng (surname), 洛 Luo (surname), 普 universal 议长 speaker/chairman (compound word: 议 discuss + 长 head/elder) - His name is often used informally: 鄧洛普 dèng luò pǔ, Dunlop.
I chose to call him Dunlop, like in the English versions of the manhua that I've found online. There could be different choices like Cosmic Deng Luo. Indeed, the last part, "pǔ" is not a surname contrarily to Deng and Luo, but the author might actually have meant his full name to sound like the Western surname "Dunlop", with just a cool twist when he chose how to write the "p" part. Making it sound English is fine. It wouldn't make really sense that all the inhabitants of the Universe have Chinese names, would it? I proposed "cosmic" instead of "universal" though, because Dunlop is "only" a speaker for a Star Region: he is not at all at a universal level. He seems to be an old level 12 or 13 martial artist; above him are more powerful people like level 14 Chief Star Elders [总星长], level 15 Galaxy Lords, and level 16 Star Domain Lord.
-
*Monroe (x204, Tournament arc) aka Men Luo
Monroe is a "young"—less than a thousand years old—level 12 martial artist who played an important role in the previous arc—the Tournament arc. "Monroe, at over eight hundred years old, had cultivated two martial arts to the peak of the Fifth Realm, had advanced to level 12, and was already considered a super genius seen only once every tens of thousands of years in the Hill Star Region, a hegemon-level figure among the younger generation."
门罗 (trad. 門羅), mén luó: 門 door, surname Men, 羅 surname Luo [the author seems to have given him a name with a phonetic value and no specific meaning] - I found 204 occurrences of 門羅 in chapters 500 (x2), , 502 (x28), ..., 509 (x19), 510 (x28), 511 (x20), 512 (x23), 513 (x18), ..., 534, ..., 583 (x2).
-
*Qian Yushu (x140, Tournament arc) aka *Thousand Feather Book
千羽书 (trad. 千羽書), qiānyǔ shū: 千 thousand 羽 feather 书 book - Qian Yushu is another martial artist who played an important role in the previous arc—the Tournament arc. His main technique is 劍陣, the Sword Array or Swords Wave. I'm curious to know how English versions of the manhua translated this technique and all others, I shall re-read the Tournament arc in English, especially the Lu Sheng vs Qian Yushu fight. See Immortal Dao.
Question: What should I call him? Qian Yushu, Thousand Feather Book, Thousandfeather Book, Thao Zundfeatherbook, Han Dreadfeatherbook..?

Characters introduced in the Battlefield arc
-
*Babard (x10, #531) or Mr. Babard, aka Baba De xiansheng (based on the sinograms' pronunciation), mister Virtuous Dad, Mr. Kinddad or Mr. Kindpapa (based on the sinograms' meaning)
Babard is an unfortunate octopus-looking passenger traveling alongside Lu Sheng on his way to a Battlefield recruitment ship stationed at planet Moordoor. Babard seems like an innocent, fatherly character. Lu Sheng and the author seem evil for torturing him. - 巴巴德先生 (trad. idem), bābā dé xiānshēng: 巴巴 papa (巴 hope 巴 hope) 德 virtue, kindness, 先生 mister, sir (先 former 生 be born > one bon before) - Babard appears only in 2 chapters: I found 10 occurrences of 巴巴德 in chapters 531 (x5), 532 (x5)
-
The *two guides (#532)
See chapter #532, chapter #533, and my chapter titled "Character Changes"
1) The cold and stern guide (#532)
In the manhua and in my version this guide is a woman. In the original webnovel, it's a man.
"middle-aged man with a cold and stern demeanor" (x2) - 气质冷厉的中年男人 (trad. 氣質冷厲的中年男人), qìzhí lěng lì de zhōng nián nánrén: 气质 demeanor 冷厉 cold stern 的 of 中年 middle-aged 男人 man
"cold and stern" (x50) - 冷厉 (trad. 冷厲), lěng lì: 冷 cold 厉 stern
I found 50 occurrences of 冷厲 in chapters 532, 533 (x11), 535, 536 (x7), 537 (x8), 538 (x2), 539 (x2), 546 (x5), 547 (x2), 550 (x2), 554, 555, 556 (x5), 557, 566.
"cold stern middle-age" (x47) - 冷厉中年 (trad. 冷厲中年), lěng lì zhōng nián: 冷 cold 厉 stern 中年 middle-aged (adjective)/middle age (noun) (compound, 中 middle + 年 age)
middle+age (中年 zhōng nián) is mostly used as a name (middle age); it's used 4 times as an adjective (middle-aged man/guide)
I commented on repetitions on chapters #530 and #533:
// For example, 冷厉中年 (trad. 冷厲中年), lěng lì zhōngnián, cold stern middle age, is used 46 times in this story arc. In English, it would sound peculiar to do the same, but in Chinese it kinda feels like a name, Lengli Zhongnian. Based on its length, it could be a Chinese name while it couldn't be one in English... or could it? Coldstern Middleage. What do you think? //
2) The round-faced guide (#533)
round face (x47) - 圆脸 (trad. 圓臉), yuán liǎn: 圆 round 脸 face
round-faced man (x16) - yuán liǎn nánrén (男人) or yuán liǎn nánzǐ (男子)
round-faced guide (x5) - yuán liǎn lǐnglù rén (领路人,trad. 領路人) or yuán liǎn yǐnlù rén (引路人)
round-faced fat man (x25) - yuán liǎn pàngzi (胖子), with 胖子 pàngzi: fat man
I found 47 occurrences of 圓臉 in chapters 533 (x15), 536, 537, 542 (x4), 543 (x2), 546 (x2), 547 (x5), 548 (x2), 549 (x6), 550 (x2), 554, 555, 556 (x5).
Question: What happened to the "balanced build"? Maybe that guide ate too much duing the journey, since he had "a thousand" dishes in front of him.
-
*Sarl (x322, #533) aka Sar, Saer, Sal, Sala, Sarah
Sarl is a level 12 martial artist. One of the strongest new recruits in Lu Sheng's group of new recruits traveling towards the Battlefield. One of the main characters in the Battlefield arc. - Sarl has two different Chinese names: Sa-er and Sa-la. The change occurs in chapter #540.
In chapter #533, the guides introduce him as follows: "not quite a thousand years old, already at Level 12, and possessing a Sun-level Extraordinary Physique. This guy is a genuine prodigy, wouldn't you say"
1) #533-#540 - Sa-er (x26) - 萨尔 (trad. 薩爾), sà ěr: 萨 could be the surname Sa or a shortened version of "Bodhisattva" (a monk helping others reach nirvana or en enlightened being), 尔 has different meanings that don't seem to fit a name (you, this, only) and different pronunciations but I'll stick with the ponunciation "ěr". Should I call him "Only An Enlightened Being"? Nah.
2) #540-#578 - Sa-la (x296) - 萨拉 (trad. 薩拉), sà lā: 萨 unchanged, 拉 to pull/play/lead a group etc.
What happened in chapter #540? Sarl reacted to Huang Ji's display of power and took the lead. Excerpt: "Sarl, the most outstanding genius in their group, now radiated an intense hunger to win and grow stronger after sensing Huang Ji's threat. (He) intended to leave nothing for anyone else (...) he swallowed every core he obtained on the spot (...) he clearly flaunted an arrogance that screamed, "I'm the most gifted genius here!"
Question: Should I show this change in the translation? Maybe, but I'm not sure how. A change from Saleed to Salead..?
-
*Huang Ji (x38, #533) - 黄极 (trad. 黃極), huáng jí: 黃 yellow, yolk, lewd, surname Huang 極 extreme, (geography) pole
Huang Ji is also a level 12 martial artist and one of the strongest in this batch of new recruits traveling towards the Battlefield. In chapter #533, the guides introduce him as follows: "He's a veteran now, entering the battlefield for the third time. I reckon his strength might not be inferior to ours.", "I once fought alongside him. His strength is undeniable. But as for his character... He's rather pragmatic. Every time he enters the battlefield, he has ulterior motives."
I found 38 occurrences of 黃極 in chapters 533 (x2), 539 (x2), 540 (x4), 541, 544, 578 (x22), 579 (x5), 581
-
*Saya (x472, #535) aka Saya Lyresas
A kind-hearted recruit, from the Polo Star Region like Sarl, who is traveling to the Battlefield alongside Lu Sheng. An important character with his own story shared with Tang Dun. See also Rose, Wells, and Heyer.
撒亚 (trad. 撒亞), sā yà: 撒 drop 亚 second - A fitting name for the "former eldest son of the Lyresas family" (#586). Technically, Saya still is the eldest son, but there are schemes to get rid of him and make Wells the next family head.
-
*Tang Dun (x136, #537) aka the *stone man (x23, #536)
Another kind-hearted recruit Lu Sheng meets on his way to the Battlefield. A companion for Saya.
唐顿 (trad. 唐頓), táng dùn: 唐 boast 顿 stamp (the ground)
石头人 (trad. idem), shítou rén: 石头 stone 人 man
-
*Hai Ji Dao (x456, #543) aka *Haiji Dao, *Hai Jidao, *Haij or Hagrid (nickname used by Mokodo), *Longblade, *sir Longblade, *Haiji Dao daren, *Hai Ji Dao daren, *sir Haiji Dao, *Lord Haiji Dao, etc.
Haiji Dao is a level 13 martial artist who undestands laws, a general of the Hundred Great Battlefield who left the base to rescue a group of new recruits, a guide sent by commander Mokodo to accompany Lu Sheng and Anon Turing as they travel to the Hunting Bow and the Celestial Academy, and a teacher sharing his knowledge with them. He is referred to in different ways depending on who's saying his name.
1) Haiji Dao aka Bone Longblade (x405 alone, x452 if you add occurrences of Sir Haiji Dao 骸极刀大人) - This is how the narrator refers to Haiji Dao - 骸极刀 (trad. 骸極刀), hái jí dāo: 骸 bone 极 top/long 刀 blade - See chapter #543
2) Sir Haiji Dao (x47) aka Haiji Dao daren or Lord Longblade - This is how all level 11 and 12 allies on the battlefield politely call him - 骸极刀大人 (trad. 骸極刀大人), hái jí dāo dàrén: 骸极刀 Haiji Dao, 大人 is a polite honorific used to address older or higher ranked people - See "daren" in this glossary - See chapter #543.
3) Haij aka Haige, Hagrid (manhua), or Big Frame (x7) - This is the nickname used by Mokodo (level 14) to address Haiji Dao. - 海格 (trad. idem), hǎi gé: 海 big 格 frame - See chapter #565 - I found 7 occurrences of 海格 in chapters 565 (x2), 566 (x2), 567, 568 (x2).
Also, Lord Bone Long Blade is a literal translation of Hái Jí Dāo dàrén used by Zi Yanxin in chapter #595.
-
*Galaxy Lord of the Celestial Serpent galaxy (#587)
see Galaxy Lord
In chapter #587, Haiji Dao explains: "Our current Lord of the Heavenly Serpent galaxy has a Sovereign-level Extraordinary Physique. And to this date he is the only one in our galaxy."
-
Lord of Oblivion (x45, #550) aka King of Forgetting (manhua)
A powerful level 14 (commander-level) Alien Beast on the Hundred Great battlefield. Only Mokodo can face that enemy head-on.
遺忘之主 (trad. idem), yíwàng zhī zhǔ: 遺忘 to forget 之 of 主 king/lord
-
*Mokodo (x107, #565), is a Chief Star Elder for the Hundred Great star district (there is only two such elders). She is the Commander of the Hundred Great battlefield allied forces.
Your lordship - 大人您 (trad. idem), dàrén nín
She is described in chapter #565 as a giant with six eyes and six arms. In the manhua, it's a gigantc man with eight arms. See my chapter Character changes.
-
The two guides' real names
Wu Na (x18, #566) aka the round-faced guide - 乌拿 (trad. 烏拿), wū ná: 乌 dark/crow 拿 to seize - I found 18 occurrences of 烏拿 in chapters 566 (x9), 567 (x8), 568. Also called "the chubby Wu Na" - 稍胖的乌拿 (trad. 稍胖的烏拿), shāo pàng de wū ná: 稍胖的乌拿

His name is mentioned only twice, in chapter #567. 索亚 (trad. 索亞), suǒ yà: 索 rope-cable to search-demand surname Suo, 亚 house second surname Ya

-
the *Turing family (#567)
The Turing family is a powerful, wealthy and famous family introduced in chapter #567. See Anon Turing.
-
*Anon Turing (x255, #567) aka *Ao Nong Tu Ling aka "I'm the Olympic map spirit" - A super genius introduced in the Battlefield arc who was considered Hundred Great's #1 genius before Lu Sheng appeared. Note that Lu Sheng's first name is Sheng, while Anon Turing's first name is Anon.
His name seems to be a brilliant pun: a reference to his extremely competitive spirit and a reference to genius 20th century mathematician Alan Turing, father of modern computers, see movies about him and WWII and deciphering the Enigma encoding machine); that's why I called him Anon and not Ao Nong. I was tempted to call him Anan instead, but I feel like Anan Turing kind of sounded like a parody of Alan Turing's name, while Anon Turing sounds like a sincere tribute to Alan Turing. What do you think?
奥侬图灵 (trad. 奧儂圖靈), ào nóng tú líng: 奧 I (me), 儂 Olympic, 圖 map 靈 spirit
See chapter #567
-
*Hobert (x27, 581) aka *Speaker Hobert, Mr. Speaker Hobert

-
*Lyresas (family) (x78, #578), *the Lyresas family aka Sassylyre, Lyresass, Sassyliar, Liarsars,Weedpest, etc.
Damn, there so many translation options. Saya fans, feel free to help me out here :') I like Saya and Tang Dun, it's nice to get to know other characters and these two seem to be genuinely good people, so I feel like taking a moment to try to find fitting name options and choose one. Why Weedpest? I explain it below, but yeah sometimes you gotta be creative, a bit like Harry Potter's "Hogwarts" school [literally hog warts] was translated into "Poudlard" [pork-fat louse] in French. Well, with sinograms (Chinese characters) and novel characters' names, unless the author gives explanations, we don't know for sure if what's written is a meaning, a pronunciation, or a mix of both, sometimes a complex pun.
莱尔萨斯 (trad. 萊爾薩斯), lái ěr sà sī: 萊 goosefoot/weed (wild grass)/fallow field 尔 you 萨 Sa (surname), 斯 Si (surname) [薩斯 sàsī is SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome)]
Oh, compare 莱尔萨斯 Lyresas and 威尔斯 Wells. Can you see it?
The characters ěr and sī [尔 (trad. 爾), ěr and 斯 (trad. same) sī] are used both in the family name lái ěr sà sī and in Wells' name, wēi ěr sī. Damned. No way I can translate that. LyREsa'SS, WyRE'SS..? Nah.
莱尔萨斯 (trad. 萊爾薩斯), lái ěr sà sī: Lyresas
威尔斯 (trad. 威爾斯), wēi ěrsī: Wells Lyresas [same characters ěr and sī]
撒亚 (trad. 撒亞), sā yà: Saya Lyresas [撒 sā in Saya isn't the same character as 萨(薩) sà in Lyresas]
Saya is not a sassy liar! He is depicted as innocent, naive, genuine and good hearted, a poor little boy from a rich bitch family.
Pronunciation: "lie err sah suh-ee" or simply "lyresassy", or even "lyre sass" if the last vowel is muted, like a weak, unstressed schwa sound]. I'm not sure what the author intended us to hear when this name is pronounced.
Maybe this name was supposed to sound English. It's possible, it happened with other names before in this novel, especially once the story that used to take place on a planet similar to earth and in a country similar to China (the author's country) turned into a space opera taking place in a whole galaxy.
Phonetical version: Lyresass or Lyresas, close to Liarsass or Liarsas. It's a bit les sassy when we remove an S :) Modified version: Sassyliar, interesting. Maybe I go for the musical instrument, the lyre, maybe for the liar behaviour. Liar might be what the author was going for, I mean, it's more likely since this is a family with a powerful business selling combat suits, not old musical instrurments. What about the disease/pandemic, sars, should I keep it? Maybe plague/pest?
Mixed version: Liarsars - Translated version: Goosefootsars, Weedsars, Weedsease, Weedplague, Fallowplague, Plagueweed - Other versions: Lyrsas, Lylesas, ... - Hmm, I dislike the family's schemes and I like Saya and I don't want to give him a sassy or pestiferous name (with plague).
I'll go with Lyresas from now on, I'll have to update it in the previous chapters. What do YOU think? What's your favorite?
-
*Rose (x54, #582) aka Meifu, Maeve, Lotus Rose
Saya's ex, Wells' current partner.
玫芙 (trad. idem), méi fú: 玫 (first syllable of 玫瑰, méigui, rose), 芙 (first syllable of 芙蓉, fúróng, lotus).
Hmm, méi fú, ro(se) lo(tus)... Rolo, Rose, Meifu, Maeve, Mayfair, Lotus Rose... II'll go with Rose.
-
*Wells (x50, #582) aka Wills, Wells Lyresas, Earl Lyresas, Wales, While Your Prestige Lasts
Saya Lyresas's brother. See chapter #582. He is in a relationship with Saya's ex, Rose. They're trying to get rid of Saya.
威尔斯 (trad. 威爾斯), wēi ěr sī: 威爾斯 Wills (surname), Wales (Hong Kong and Taiwan only). Details, 威 might/prestige 爾 you 斯 while/this
-
*Danskil Wintersun (#583) aka Dancekill Winterfire or Wu Sha Dong Jing

*Zi Yanxin (x248, #595) aka *Beautiful Purple Heart, *Purple Heart, *Zǐ Yán Xīn xiǎojiě, *Miss Beautiful Purple Heart, *Miss Purple Heart, *Violette Jolicoeur
Miss Purple Beautiful Heart is a literal translation of Zǐ Yán Xīn xiǎojiě used by Haiji Dao in chapter #595 when he first meets her. It's a humorous answer to her using a kind of universal translator and calling him Bone Long Blade.
Zi Yanxin is a level 12 martial artist. She is an important member of the Star Spirit Flower merchant guild and the captain of the Star Spirit Flower spaceship.
紫妍心小姐 (trad. idem), zǐ yán xīn xiǎojiě: 紫 purple, 妍 beautiful, 心 heart, 小姐 Miss
See Occurences.
Question asked in chapter #595: What do you think we should call her? Zi Yanxin is a safe choice. Purple Heart sounds nice. Due to the narrator's comments about names being automatically translated thanks to a kind of high tech universal translator device, I felt like I had to translate her name into English at least once when she was introduced by "lord long bone blade". Since we're in outer space, I feel like I could use other languages, for example Violette Jolicoeur literally means "Purple Beautifulheart in French, though Violette would be her first name while Zi 紫 is Zi Yanxin's last name, which isn't really an issue. I kinda like it. Lemme add it to the list of her aliases.

*Wu Tian (x70, #598) aka Wu Tian daren, *Lord Wu Tian, sir Martial Heaven

recruit (x62) in the army - 兵 (trad. idem), bīng: recruit, conscript, draftee
In the Battlefield arc, Lu Sheng's companions are recruits not conscripts. Conscripts aka draftees are compulsorily enrolled, often into a military service. That's not the case here. The martial artists traveling with Lu Sheng and the two guides volunteered to join the battlefield. They are recruits, and according to the guides they will become official soldiers only once they reach the base alive.

Dao, Path, Way in real life
道 (trad. idem), dào: 道 dao/way/path/say/speak/talk
The Dao, aka the Way, is the core concept of Daoism, a philosophy associated with legendary philosopher Laozi. "Along with Confucianism, Daoism (sometimes called Taoism) is one of the two great indigenous philosophical traditions of China." It is beautiful, complex, mysterious. "Dao is the process of reality itself, the way things come together, while still transforming."
Another bonus quote from that very interesting page: "Confucius and his followers wanted to change the world and be proactive in setting things straight. They wanted to tamper, orchestrate, plan, educate, develop, and propose solutions. Daoists, on the other hand, take their hands off of life when Confucians want their fingerprints on everything. Imagine this comparison. If the Daoist goal is to become like a piece of unhewn and natural wood, the goal of the Confucians is to become a carved sculpture."

Dao in this story
Dao (x500+, first arc) aka Way, Path
道 (trad. idem), dào
This character is used 2100+ times: 500+ times with the dao/way/path meaning related to martial arts and probably 1500+ times with the say/speak/talk meaning.
In this story Daos are like different arts, different paths towards martial understanding and improvement, for example the Dao of the blade, the way of the stars aka Stellar Dao, the path of the Five-Elements aka Five-Elements Dao.
Lu Sheng first learns about these different Daos in the Dream Space. They are different ways to decrypt reality, developed by different people. They are different paths towards enlightenment and strength. I'll capitalize the names of martial arts techniques and methods coined by the author like the Daos.

*Extraordinary Physique (x72, Yamu arc), *Blood (x134, Yamu arc)
These two phrases are more or less synonyms in this story. They both correspond to a single core concept in this novel: the body strength level related to the inborn/innate potential. The strongest characters have an Extraordinary Physique aka a strong Blood. In a way they are destined (genetically programmed?) to get really strong. We will learn more about it in later chapters. The level can be evaluated in specific places. Lu Sheng's Extraordinary Physique level aka Blood level was evaluated in the Yamu arc and the result of evaluation impressed officials so much that it led to the organization of the Tournament.
Extraordinary Physique - 超凡生命体质, (trad. 超凡生命體質), 超凡 chāofán 生命 shēngmìng 体质 tǐzhí: 超凡 extraordinary (超 surpass + 凡 ordinary ), 生命 life, living being (生 be born + 命 life, fate), 体质 physique, constitution (體 body + 質 material, nature)
I found 72 occurrences of 超凡生命體質 in chapters 501 (x9), 502 (x4), 503, 504, 506, 508, 509, 510, 513 (x2), 514, 522, 531, 533, 567 (x2), 574, 586 (x3), 587 (x19), 589, 597, 599 (x2), 602 (x3), 612, 616, 625 (x2), 626 (x4), 627, 628, 631, 632, 638, 644, 645
Blood aka Bloodline - 血脉 (trad. 血脈), xuèmài: 血脉 (compound word: 血 xuè blood 脉 mài pulse) - In traditional medicine, 血脈-xuèmài means blood vessels, blood circulation. In general, it also means blood relationship; blood lineage. I chose a simple translation. Bloodline felt a bit exaggerated: it doesn't seem like Lu's mom and dad have a super strong blood. I prefer Blood now but Bloodline is what I had initially chosen, so it still appears in many chapters.
I found 134 occurrences of 血脈 in chapters 501 (x2), ..., 522 (x8), 530, ..., 644 (x7), ..., 646 (x5).
Note: The word often associated with this body strength concept in this novel is the verb 拥有 (trad. 擁有), yōngyǒu, to possess - For example, 擁有不朽級超凡生命體質 means "擁有 has/possesses 不朽級 Immortal-level 超凡生命體質 Extraordinary Physique" also used backwards 超凡生命體質擁有 several times.

In chapter #629, about Dilius: "The legendary Sovereign-level Blood possessor, a born king appearing only once every hundred thousand years in a galaxy." [傳說中的主宰級血脈擁有者,一個星系一億年一出的天生王者] - Well, the author likes big numbers... I mean, there is already at least 2 of them, Dilius and the current galaxy Lord. Is the Lord one hundred thousand year old? Maybe. Note that 億 yì means hundred million (100,000,000) (sometimes written as 1,0000,0000), and it used to have the now obsolete meaning of hundred thousand (100,000). I kept the latter. I'd assume that the galaxy Lord is definitely not one hundred million years old, since old martial artists in this novel are only thousands of years old.

Rules - the Fifth Realm
Martial artists of level 11 and level 12 (the Fifth Realm) have Rules aka Dao Rules corresponding to the Daos that they cultivated up to at least level 11. They can wield a powerful Power of Rule for each Rule they comprehended. At level 12, a Rule becomes visible as a Rule Galaxy aka Light Ribbon. That Rule reaches the peak of level 12 when the corresponding Rule Galaxy is absorbed into the body to temper/enhance it, which strengthens/prepares the body so that it can withhold the Laws.

Four or Five Elements in this story (copied from my notes on chapter #598, with additional occurrence counts)
The *Four Extremes (四極, sìjí) of the *Four Extremes Dao (四極之道, sìjí zhī dào) are the Ground, Wind, Water, and Fire (地風水火, dì fēng shuǐ huǒ). - I found 28 occurrences of 四極 in chapters 569 (x3), 597 (x7), 598 (x14), 599 (x3), 614. I found 2 occurrences of 地風水火 in chapter 598 (x2).
The *Five Elements aka *Wuxing (五行, wǔxíng) of the *Five Elements Dao (五行之道, wǔxíng zhī dào) are the Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Soil (金木水火土, jīn mù shuǐ huǒ tǔ). - I found 30 occurrences of 五行 in chapters 598 (x9), 599 (x11), 600 (x7), 614 (x2), 620. I found 3 occurrences of 金木水火土 in chapters 598, 599, 600.
Ground and Soil are both often translated as Earth. Indeed, the Chinese characters 地 and 土 can both be translated as earth, but 地 rather refers to the surface/ground you walk on while 土 rather refers to the material/soil it is made of. Someone said somewhere online that "地 (ground, earth) is a collection of 土 (soil, dirt)."
Note: The concept of the Five Elements aka Wuxing (五行) is an important concept in Chinese Taoist philosophy, see below.
Note: Feng shui (風水) is a Chinese "system of spiritual energies". The Four Elements appear in many ancient cultures, see below.
-
Four or Five Elements in real life (copied from my notes on chapter #598)
The so called classical elements (古典元素) described in ancient India, Greece, Tibet, Angola, Mali, etc. include sometimes four, sometimes five elements. In one of Plato's works, the four elements are Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire (地風水火). Earth is often written 地, the ground.
In Chinese philosophy, the Wuxing (五行) aka the five transformations or the five elements are Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth (金木水火土). Earth is written 土, the soil. These elements form a complex interconnected cycle.
I used the words ground and soil to convey this difference (土 vs 地) into English and to illustrate the conundrum Lu Sheng was facing when trying to mix both systems, which only precisely share water and fire.
As stated in the novel, the Wuxing aka five transformations or five elements form complex cycles, promotion (e.g. wood feeds fire as fuel), regulation (wood stabilizes the earth with roots), overaction (wood depletes the earth), weakening (wood depletes water) and counteracting (wood dulls metal). It's very interesting, but also indeed complicated. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuxing_(Chinese_philosophy)
So, Lu Sheng is starting from cycles of material elements/transformations (four then five of them) and he is trying to comprehend what space itself is. Interestingly, several ancient cultures (philosophy, medicine, cosmology) had a fifth element that was either aether or space (空). In a way, the author is having Lu Sheng go on a quest that illustrates evolutions of ancient philosophies, trying to understand what matter is, and then pondering about what's beyond matter, non-matter, trying to understand what space/void is.
For example, Aristotle added a fifth element—aether—to Socrates and Plato's commonly used list of four elements. Similarly, "The Buddha's teaching regarding the four elements is to be understood as the base of all observation of real sensations rather than as a philosophy. The four properties are cohesion (water), solidity or inertia (earth), expansion or vibration (air) and heat or energy content (fire)." (source: Wikipedia) And then this idea evolved within Buddhism, fo example Tibetan Buddhist medical literature speaks of the five"elemental properties" (pañca mahābhūta): earth, water, fire, wind, and space.

Qian Yushu was one of Lu Sheng's opponents in the Tournament of the previous story arc. He was reincarnated: he had previously lived in another universe, within the Immortal Dao civilization. Their rich cultivation methods, which Lu Sheng absorbed recently, were explained in the Mystic Spirit Treasure Record. Both were introduced in the Tournament arc, both also appear in the subsequent Battlefield and Hunting Bow arcs. Lu Sheng is learning a lot over a long period of time from that civilization, from that Dao.

Chapter #614: Universal Sunshine, borrowed from an arcade from the 90s
So, let's just call it..." Lu Sheng thought for a moment, examining his current appearance, and said half-jokingly, "The First Realm of Extreme Yang, the Profound Meaning of the Law—Universal Sunlight!" Yes. It's the ultimate killing move of the strongest boss in a certain arcade game from his previous life. That god-like man who could not be killed, only sealed, and who possessed the ability to manipulate time and space. Lu Sheng, now in the "First Realm of Extreme Yang," does indeed resemble that man somewhat.
IIt seems to be a reference to"拳皇'97"aka The King of Fighters '97.

Chapter #510: 法則 Law was written instead of 規則 Rule
Correction: 法則淬體 > 規則 Rule 淬 to temper 體 body, Rule Tempered Body
Chapters #505 and #510 are about Monroe his two Rules. He tempered/enhanced his body by absorbing the two Rule Galaxies. The Laws will be introduced later in chapter #534.
