After their short duel, Atlas invited celeste and moon into the raggedy old house for a little lesson, his face held an unrecognisable smile that made moon shiver.
Moon frowned "What could that bastard be scheming"
Moon and celeste followed behind him, listening to him ramble to himself excitedly and though moon's expression didn't show it he was quite excited himself, this was going be the first lesson he ever learned for free without going through pain or losing anything.
Moon strolled closely behind celeste and Atlas through a dimly lit corridor eventually emerging into a modern styled living room.
Everything in that room looked so strange and foreign to him, there was a kind of black window hanged on the wall and balls of light were attached to the roof even the furniture was made of strange material but yet Atlas sat at the other end of the room unconcerned.
The house was always like this changing constantly as if it was trying to remember what it was, when he asked Atlas about it he just shrugged and said 'if you don't like my home then sleep outside ungrateful brat' when he asked celeste about it she said in her usual demeanor "I've gotten used to it" But for a normal person like moon It was sorta creepy.
Celeste sat on the couch opposite atlas moon followed suit his eyes were still roaming around the strange room until Atlas clapped his hand drawing his attention to him.
"Moon what do you know of our history"
Atlas had the tendency of being vague on purpose, always making moon use his brain claiming he was trying to make him smarter.
Moon pondered for a while and chose to answer vaguely "not much, why"
"Well let me give you a little lesson, a millenia and five centuries ago when the gods still lived with humans, the humans rebelled against them and the gods punished the entire human race almost driving us to extinction".
Moon furrowed his brows "to rebel against the gods and win is impossible what a foolish thing to do, they must have been mad or drunk on their own power"
Atlas grinned "foolish yes, mad possibly but impossible not quite"
Moon stared at Atlas with curiosity
"You see, those power drunken mad men actually managed to kill three of the original eight gods"
Moon's eye widened "what do you mean"
Atlas responded with an ancient text "And it was written, once king Tidas wet his blade with the blood of the third god, the wrath of the heaven fell unto the earth like an endless storm of thunder and the seas and oceans drowned the world"
Moon's was in shock for a mere human to kill not just one but three gods was just insane, no otherworldly but still the ambitious king caused the death of billions and destroyed the future of humanity.
Moon calmed himself then asked "then how are we still here"
Atlas scratched his chin "the answer is simple really, they pitied us"
"We begged and begged for mercy, day in and day out until they forgave us"
"Including Tidas" Moon asked
"Tidas was punished while the each god chose a person to lead a portion of humanity"
"After that humanity later divided themselves into seven kingdom's and those kingdom's became the flying kingdoms while the people who didn't agree were cast out and left on the ground"
Moon scowled "by people who didn't agree, you mean people who couldn't forgive the gods"
Atlas nodded
Celene suddenly stood up from the couch and walked away silently. Moon watched as she left the room wondering if had done something wrong.
"Don't worry it wasn't you, she just gets like that sometimes".
Atlas stood up to leave but moon was still curious, he still wanted to know more but he didn't want to tell Atlas that.
"if you want to know more than pay a visit to the library, you can read right" he said walking away.
Moon yelled a little " of course I can".
Atlas left and moon frowned he wasn't lying he was able to read but he wasn't the best at it and the attitude of celeste and Atlas bothered him a little, he didn't need eyes to see that something was going on but it wasn't his place, he just wanted his one sided revenge against the city.
..... and the reward Atlas promised him.
He stood up from the couch and left the strange room through the door and closed it behind him, moon sighed knowing the next time he opened this door there would be a completely different room.
He climbed the dark polished stairs into the former dim lit corridor now a dark hallway with skeletons hanged on the wall, moon stared at the skeletons for a couple of moments but then just walked past them to his room.
As soon as the door creaked close, he jumped on the soft, clean bed and closed his weary eyes, his body was still sore from the spar and his mind was filled with questions.
....but even so his eyes lids grew heavy and his vision slowly grew darker as his mind slowly drifted to sleep.
"King Tidas, I wonder, what was it all for"
