MHGA Chapter 341 – The Resurrection of Setsuna Shimazaki

"Do you hear me? Now… activate that boy's final plan, Meteora."

Kairo Retsu tapped his headset and declared bluntly.

"Hunter, are you certain about this?" asked Meteora.

At that moment, in the operations room, Meteora and the other Creators were all watching the screen displaying the confrontation between Kairo Retsu and Altair.

"..."

Souta Mizushino remained silent, tightly gripping the Fool's Gold Pendant that he had just received from Makagami Chikujouin.

The Construct modeled after "Setsuna" should not, by standard rules, have been able to appear. In terms of Approval Rating or narrative foreshadowing, her existence fell far short.

Even Sirius, born of the combined foreshadowing from so many Creators, was no more than an empty shell lacking self-awareness. Could the "Setsuna Shimazaki" he had written truly be summoned as they hoped?

Clutching the Fool's Gold Pendant, Souta could only pray that Chikujouin's ability to circumvent the rules tied to Approval Rating would restore balance and bring their plan to fruition.

Meteora studied Souta's expression. Finally… as all the Creators nodded in silent agreement, Meteora began reciting a new incantation.

All present focused intently on Meteora's chant.

Meanwhile, outside the Birdcage, someone was rushing toward the battlefield at top speed—

"ORA—!!"

Kazuma was frantically pedaling his bicycle and could already see the Birdcage ahead.

Aqua, eyes wide, sensed something shifting within the Birdcage—a rare moment where divine instinct momentarily replaced her sparse wisdom.

"Kazuma, Kazuma," Aqua said from the bike's back seat, "I think we're too late!"

"I, Kazuma, absolutely refuse to collapse here!!!!" Kazuma pedaled furiously, eyes bloodshot. "If I give up now, Kairo Retsu'll never stop mocking me! I'll never show him even a single exploitable opening ever again!"

"Drain Touch!!"

Without shame, Kazuma cast Drain Touch on Aqua, who was clinging to him.

With a surge of speed, the bicycle rocketed into the Birdcage zone.

And at last, Aqua realized what was inside the Birdcage—why there was power so similar to that of a multitude of followers warping the world itself.

"WOC! Kazuma, where are you right now?!"

Back on the frontline, Kairo Retsu—currently enduring Altair's furious bombardment—yelled into the comms. "Hurry up! Meteora's nearly done chanting! This is it!!"

"That direction, got it!!"

Kazuma, now at the Birdcage perimeter, spotted the heart of the battle ahead. At its center, Altair had clearly lost all control, unleashing indiscriminate destruction.

Kazuma's objective: to bring Aqua and Setsuna's ashes directly in front of Altair before Meteora finished the ritual to summon the "Construct" of Setsuna.

Granted… Setsuna's remains had already been cremated, and Aqua's Resurrection spell couldn't revive her alone… unless she had help from another goddess.

But after much deliberation, the Hunters decided to try a little exploit.

"This is it!"

Kazuma looked around, yanked a massive iron billboard from the roadside, then pulled two Mega Barrel Bombs from his Hunter's bottomless inventory. After positioning them carefully, he grabbed Aqua and jumped onto the billboard, placing it atop the bombs.

"Kazuma, sir—what… what are you doing?" Aqua asked nervously as Kazuma refused to let go.

"Aqua, right now you're my temporary Handler. So that puts you within the bounds of carting—surely you know that much…"

Kazuma spoke serenely, but his intent was crystal clear.

"Let me go!!"

Aqua, instantly understanding Kazuma's plan, tried to jump off, but it was too late—Kazuma had already stabbed the bombs' fuses with a dagger.

Specially refined by Hunters and Felynes, the Mega Barrel Bombs exploded with tremendous force, launching Kazuma and Aqua skyward in an instant.

"KAZUMA!!!!! I HATE YOU!!!!"

Aqua screamed, clutching the billboard, while Kazuma remained composed, adjusting his trajectory midair toward Kairo Retsu's position.

Though this scene wasn't broadcast at the event, those in the operations room saw it clearly.

Many wanted to comment—but with the fate of the world on the line, all bit their tongues.

At that exact moment, Meteora's incantation came to an end.

The creation ritual was complete. Inside the Birdcage, the scenery began to shift dramatically.

Night turned to day. Buildings vanished into empty plains…

And in Altair's furious gaze, the world morphed into the train station from the day Setsuna Shimazaki died.

"You…"

Altair was enraged—but couldn't help looking toward the station, hoping to catch sight of that familiar figure.

Yet the platform was empty. Setsuna Shimazaki was nowhere to be found.

It appeared Meteora's spell had only changed the setting, not summoned her presence.

Relieved, Altair also felt… disappointment.

Just as she was about to turn back to face Kairo Retsu and the others for a final showdown—just as she prepared to shatter the Birdcage and trigger global collapse—

Aqua's scream rang from the sky.

Altair jerked her head upward, pupils contracting—

She saw Kazuma midair, flinging both Aqua and a box toward the station.

Printed on that box was Setsuna Shimazaki's photo.

In that moment, something inside Altair snapped. Abandoning all caution, she rushed toward the falling ashes.

Kairo Retsu also saw Aqua midair. Without hesitation, he opened his Gathering Hub panel.

"As the Guildmaster, I summon a Winged Lion as our forward unit!"

At that instant, a Winged Lion appeared at the gathering standby zone, and Kairo Retsu shouted:

"Winged Lion! Follow my instructions! Target—the falling urn!"

The Winged Lion narrowed its eyes, locking onto the tumbling box descending with Aqua.

Even though…

They couldn't find another goddess to assist Aqua's Resurrection, the Hunters had found another way.

The Winged Lion's pupils turned into the symbol ∞.

With its arrival, the battlefield was now its Dungeon.

Infinite mana flooded into Setsuna's remains. Even Aqua, clutching the box and screaming, could sense the life force emanating from within.

The Winged Lion could not fully resurrect a person.

But with its infinite magic, it could forcibly reconstruct the body—as though shaping a monster.

So even without a soul, the reconstructed flesh was now within the scope of Aqua's Resurrection.

By exploiting the Approval loophole created by Makagami Chikujouin…

A soul, a restored body, and a goddess' resurrection spell—the conditions for revival were fully met.

In sync with Aqua's terrified scream, the spell activated—

Setsuna's urn shattered in a burst of light.

And Setsuna Shimazaki—fully revived—materialized in midair.

Her first sight after resurrection—

Was the rapidly approaching ground.

Setsuna and Aqua collided, embraced in midair, and continued screaming as they plummeted toward the earth.
