MHGA Chapter 342 – The Confused Setsuna Shimazaki
"Where is this? What is going on!!!"
Just having been resurrected—her mind still stuck in the moment right before her suicide—Setsuna Shimazaki revived in Aqua's arms. The Winged Lion even helpfully used its magic to recreate the exact same clothes she wore while alive.
But the momentum of her tumbling descent with Aqua didn't stop just because she was now clothed.
As the sky and earth spun around her, and a beautiful (mentally-challenged) blue-haired girl screamed while holding her, Setsuna's brain went completely blank.
Meanwhile, Altair, who had just been rampaging in fury and was ready to charge forward, clearly saw the moment Setsuna's remains were revived by the goddess's power within Aqua's arms.
The furious Military Uniform Princess froze upon witnessing this scene—her mind blanked, her entire body frozen in place. Only after Setsuna and Aqua had fallen past her did she react, suddenly surging forward in an attempt to catch the falling Setsuna.
But Setsuna's rate of descent was too fast, and Altair couldn't catch up in time. All she could do was watch the distance between Setsuna and the ground grow smaller—
"Air Cushion Shield!"
At the very moment Setsuna and Aqua were about to crash, Naofumi Iwatani stepped up, summoning the softest shock-absorbing shield he could muster.
His shield instantly transformed into a giant, fluffy, and gentle cushion. Originally designed to absorb impact, Naofumi adjusted it into a platform perfect for catching people.
Aqua and Setsuna slammed into the shield and sunk deep into it, the air-cushioned surface absorbing the force of their fall and even muffling their screams.
After such an intense impact, Setsuna was so terrified that she immediately fainted.
By the time Naofumi dismissed the shield, Altair—still under Sirius's threat—could no longer approach. Setsuna lay passed out in Aqua's arms, while Aqua sobbed and cursed Kazuma under her breath.
Up in the sky, Altair's mind was in utter chaos.
That's not Setsuna… Altair told herself. Setsuna was already dead—long ago. The person before her couldn't be her.
Yet… as Altair looked at that Setsuna, her heart wavered violently.
That really did look like the real Setsuna…
Altair faltered.
Kairo Retsu walked up to Aqua's side and gently took the unconscious Setsuna from her arms.
"Do you see this, Altair?"
Kairo Retsu grinned wide, flashing a confident smile at Altair. "Everything is now complete… This is the true Setsuna Shimazaki! Your creator!"
Kairo suddenly pulled a yellow potion from inside his cloak and poured it into the unconscious Setsuna's mouth.
Altair erupted with fury. "What are you doing to her?! What did you just feed her?!"
She was already gripping her sabre and rifle, ready to activate Holopsicon at any moment.
Kairo, holding the unconscious Setsuna steady, smiled with a menacing, wicked grin. "Just giving her something good! Otherwise… how else could she have a proper conversation with you!"
"You…!" Altair's rage grew, her eyes bloodshot as she stared daggers at Kairo. Yet seeing him holding Setsuna made her hesitate to charge forward.
"You… despicable heretic!!!" Altair roared. "To stoop to such vile tactics!"
The entire battlefield buzzed with chaos due to Kairo's actions and Altair's enraged response.
[LMAO wwww, don't tell me he fed that thing.]
[Is this really the good guy's way of doing things?]
[Honestly Altair looks more like the protagonist right now.]
[Hey! Aren't you all supposed to be the heroic side?!]
The comments exploded across the livestream.
Kairo then noticed something odd in the expressions of his own allies—many were giving him strange looks.
Especially those with strong senses of justice, like Selesia and Alicetaria—they were clearly frowning.
"Engine Bridge Drive!!!!!!"
Kairo suddenly bellowed, "What do you all think I fed her?! Wipe that look off your faces!!!"
"And those of you watching through the screen!!! Don't think I don't know what you're imagining!! I've been in this world for a while now—I KNOW what kinds of filthy thoughts you degenerates are having!! Wipe those filthy captions off the chat!!!" Kairo roared. "It was an Energy Drink! Something to stave off sleep!!"
[Uh-oh! He noticed!!]
[Still sounds sus as hell though…]
[It totally looks like something yellow and nasty…]
[The Creator gets NTR'd?!]
The barrage of comments didn't let up.
Setsuna, meanwhile, began to wake up under the effects of the energy drink.
The moment her eyes opened, Setsuna saw a man in a demon-lord-looking armor full of spikes holding her up—his terrifying face nearly gave her a heart attack.
"Where… am I…? Who am I…"
Her mind reeled from the trauma, but quickly pieced things together: "I remember now. I… was dead. But why… am I standing here again… I…"
"Miss Setsuna Shimazaki, allow me to explain your current situation."
Kairo temporarily let go of her, then stepped forward and stood protectively between her and Altair—ready to stop Altair if she made a sudden move.
"You've been revived."
Kairo spread his arms. "Everyone present here is a character from different worlds. And the reason we're all gathered here… is because of her."
Kairo pointed toward Altair. "Your character—Altair."
"!" Setsuna froze the moment she saw Altair.
To her, Altair was the most vivid and lasting memory of everything she had created.
And yet now…
Why was she so badly hurt?
Why…
Setsuna looked around at the people standing beside her—each striking and distinctive in appearance. Among them, she even recognized characters she'd once known.
Setsuna was overwhelmed with confusion.
Why… did it look like Altair was fighting against all these people?
