Aiden Grant looked at his carefree younger brother and suddenly felt the urge to kick him out, but he ultimately remembered their brotherly bond and didn't want to embarrass him.
Connor Grant chuckled, bent halfway over, and said to Lily Shaw, whose face was covered by the veil, "Sister-in-law, I'm your younger brother-in-law, Connor Grant."
Aiden held Lily in a princess-carry as he got out of the car, realizing his brother still couldn't read his expressions. In a bad mood, he kicked his brother's calf, "Stop fooling around, move aside!"
Lily could sense that the man holding her seemed angry, so she obediently held onto Aiden's neck, the veil not obstructing her view. Aiden's handsome face was devoid of expression, his lips slightly pressed together; she couldn't see anything more.
In the Presidential Suite of the Regal Hotel
Mandy Young stood at the bathroom door, watching Lily Shaw wash up inside, and asked worriedly, "Lily, is it true that Eldest Young Master Grant is impotent? Will he really divorce you in a year? Why did Eldest Young Master Grant choose you as his bride?"
Her close friend directly asked three questions, and Lily paused her face-washing motion briefly before quickly resuming, "I don't know."
After washing up, Lily sat at the antique vanity, letting Mandy Young help her with makeup.
"Lily, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been nosy," Mandy apologized to Lily, regretting that she hadn't considered Lily's feelings and kept bringing up things she didn't want to hear.
"Mandy, it's okay. I know you ask because you're concerned about me," Lily reassured her friend a few sentences. Those questions from Mandy were things she dared not think about; with the die cast, change seemed too difficult.
Mandy moved her lips, finally deciding to say something, "Lily, your grandmother and the others know about you marrying Eldest Young Master Grant, and they're quite upset. Your uncle seems to be negotiating with Eldest Young Master Grant."
"Hmm, I know," Lily responded with a light smile on her face. Her grandmother and uncle had always treated her well; knowing she had jumped into marriage, seeking out Eldest Young Master Grant was only natural.
Mandy bit her lip hard, hesitating over whether she should tell Lily something.
Miles Morgan was supposed to take Crystal Shaw to apologize to the guests, but upon hearing that Lily got her marriage certificate with Eldest Young Master Grant, he wanted to go after Aiden immediately. It was only after Crystal Shaw threatened him to the point of death that he finally abandoned the idea.
Lily was deep in thought, too busy to notice Mandy's expression, and naturally wouldn't know Miles's reaction.
With Mandy's help, Lily had finished putting on makeup and changed from her wedding gown into a festive red wedding outfit.
As the door opened, Lily stepped out with a delicate makeup and a soft smile. Standing at the door waiting, Eldest Young Master Grant's eyes flashed with astonishment.
The woman before him wore a red cheongsam; her bright red lips and white teeth formed a clear smile that made hearts race. Her slender waist swayed as she walked gracefully, and her fair, long legs beneath the cheongsam provoked imagination. The fitting garment showcased her enchanting figure perfectly.
"Darling, you're so beautiful." For the first time ever, the typically stern and silent-faced Eldest Young Master Grant complimented someone—his newlywed wife.
"Husband, you're handsome too." Lily raised her hand to hook onto his arm, giving him a gentle smile, her tempting red lips like ripe peaches, alluring him always.
