Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Scumbag's Regret

"Big brother, sister-in-law!" Connor's voice broke the tender affection flowing between the newlyweds, once again drawing Aiden's scornful gaze!

"Hehe, brother, grandpa and the others are waiting for you." This time Connor finally realized the expression on his big brother's face, suddenly feeling a bad premonition; his effort to be ingratiating seemed to turn into asking for trouble...

The next moment, his premonition became reality.

"Go to Gorund tomorrow and get the Supreme Diamond, and if you can't get it, don't ever come back." Aiden slowly walked past his brother, his cold and heavy voice striking Connor's heart like a sledgehammer.

"Brother..." Connor called out once, but dared not say more, knowing he'd caused trouble no matter how dull he might be.

Seeing Connor made Lily's whole body tense up, as memories she dared not touch flooded her mind like tides.

How could he be here? And he was Aiden's younger brother, her new husband; everything started to spiral out of control.

Connor let out a howl of grief; seeing Lily's face was momentarily bewildering to him, but he quickly regained composure.

"Are you tired?" Aiden, so astute, quickly noticed that something was off about Lily; his new wife had been uneasy since seeing Connor.

Perhaps feeling Aiden's rare concern, Lily returned a gentle smile to him: "No, husband, let's hurry and go, so we don't keep everyone waiting too long."

Yet within that smile was still a residue of fatigue and an inexplicable unease.

"If you're tired, just go back and rest." Aiden furrowed his brows, looking at Lily's forced smile, feeling displeased, and decided he would uncover the connection between Lily and Connor thoroughly.

With his new wife, Aiden entered the wedding banquet hall, their combination of handsome man and beautiful woman, plus the protagonists' effect, caused the whole venue to immediately erupt in enthusiasm!

Unrehearsed applause resounded, congratulatory voices rose and fell, guests wore smiles, speaking blessings with varied sincerity.

In a corner inside the venue, Miles' face turned ghastly pale, watching Aiden and Lily walk hand in hand into the hall, his chest suddenly ached deeply.

A feeling called regret rampaged inside his mind, the pain in his chest obscuring the view of Lily in her intricate, bright red cheongsam, making it hard to see her seemingly genuine poised smile and her graceful figure akin to a butterfly delicately landing in the hall.

"Miles…" A faint voice like a mosquito's came from behind him; Crystal bit her lower lip forcefully, also watching that pair of glamorous people, but her gaze was fixed on Aiden.

Miles seemed not to hear Crystal's voice; his face a bit flushed, he stepped forward towards the center of the hall.

Crystal restrained the infatuation in her eyes, bit her lip hesitantly, and reached out to grab Miles' other hand: "Miles, sister is already Aiden's wife."

Such a simple sentence was akin to an atomic bomb, leaving Miles with no part of his body intact.

His gaze fell on Lily's lightly smiling face, only feeling a stinging sensation, trying to find any trace of discontent or struggle on her face but never seeing any.

A torrent of anger surged inside Miles, unable to explain why it rose.
