Edmund's POV
One deep breath was all it took for reasons and my will power to kick in. I kissed her forehead instead and reluctantly pulled myself away from her. If I could wait for months, I could wait another same length of time.
"Let's sleep," I let out an awkward chuckle, trying to ease the tension as though it bothered me not even one bit. Yet my clumsy heart paced like there was no tomorrow.
To my surprise, I felt a tug at the small corner of my sleeve. She gazed at me long enough for me to lose myself in her eyes. The fretful desperation screaming behind my eyes reflected in hers. Even the quiet atmosphere was not helping as it made our breathing sounds louder.
