"I don't think he's the teacher I'm looking for."
Aang walked out of the martial arts hall with a defeated expression.
Not only did he learn nothing from the trial lesson—he even got smacked by one of the Earthbending moves.
Just as Team Avatar was debating where to go next, two students stepped out of the martial arts hall, chatting loudly about something that immediately caught Aang's attention.
"I think The Boulder will win back his championship belt in this year's Earth Kingdom Sixth Street Fight."
"Yeah, but he has to beat the world's number one Earthbending master first."
Street Fight? World's number one Earthbending master?
Aang instantly perked up and rushed over.
"Hello! Where is this competition held?"
"On Mind Your Own Business Island! Now mind your own business!"
The two men walked off with sneers. Aang was left blinking in confusion while Sokka burst into laughter.
"Hahahaha! Okay, that's actually pretty good. I'm using that one forever."
Katara sighed, rolled her eyes, and walked after them. With a few "friendly exchanges" (in Katara's very specific definition of friendly), she returned with the exact location and time.
With their destination in hand, the group bought tickets and entered the venue.
The hall was designed like a classic fight arena: a large ring in the center, rows of seats around it.
The back rows were packed, but the front rows were completely empty. They took the empty seats, and Aang said.
"Front row seats! But why is everyone sitting way back there?"
Whoosh—
BOOM!
A massive boulder smashed into the exact spot Sokka had been sitting.
If Kahn hadn't yanked him aside, he would've turned into Water Tribe paste.
"I think that explains it," Sokka croaked, staring at the stone with terror.
Then he glanced at Kahn, awkward but sincere. "Uh… thanks. I guess I was wrong about you before. You're… definitely not like those Fire Nation psychos."
"It's fine. I never cared," Kahn replied with a calm smile.
The tension dissolved. Aang and Katara both let out breaths of relief.
Back to the ring.
"Welcome to the Earth Kingdom Sixth Street Fight! I'm your host—Xin Fu!"
Xin Fu strutted into the arena with exaggerated flair, announcing the rules loudly:
"First person out of the ring loses! Whoever remains—wins!"
"And now, for the first match—The Boulder versus Hippo!"
As The Boulder entered, Sokka immediately turned into his number-one fanboy, cheering like a madman while Kahn's expression slowly darkened the longer he watched.
By the time The Boulder defeated his next opponent, Kahn finally sighed.
"I'm afraid we came to the wrong place again."
Katara blinked. "What's wrong? Is something off?"
Kahn gestured at the fighters.
"Look closely. Their expressions, their voices, even their movements—they're all exaggerated. And during the fight, the Earthbending looks flashy, but the force never actually lands. They're cooperating."
He spread his hands.
"This is less of a real competition and more of a performance."
WWE detected. Avatar world edition.
(Just fun dont take seriously guys)
Katara and Aang stared harder—and sure enough, the cracks became obvious.
Aang slumped. "So they're fixing the match?"
Sokka's jaw dropped. "Match-fixing? Look at that rock! Look at those muscles! Look at those moves! Does that look fixed to you?!"
Kahn shrugged.
"To be fair, it is still combat performance. But the banners make it obvious they're pretending it's real. That's misleading to the audience."
Still, he added, "Even so, they do have skill. There might even be one real fighter here who could teach you."
Aang crossed his arms.
"I'm not letting a fraud be my teacher."
Just then, Xin Fu shouted from the ring:
"And now—what everyone's been waiting for! The Boulder versus the reigning champion… THE BLIND BANDIT!!"
A tiny figure entered, championship belt over her shoulder. Aang froze.
Katara whispered, "Blind Bandit is just her title… she's not actually blind, right?"
Aang shook his head. "No, she really can't see."
For some reason, the little girl felt familiar. As though he'd seen her in the vision within the Great Banyan Tree.
Sokka snorted. "She's gonna get demolished!"
But Kahn straightened up, his previous amusement vanishing. If a blind, tiny girl was champion—even in a performance—then something here wasn't simple.
Things just got interesting.
"The Boulder faces a small blind girl… The Boulder is conflicted."
The Blind Bandit smirked and shot back:
"You sound scared, little pebble."
The Boulder's ego shattered.
"The Boulder is DONE being conflicted! The Boulder will bury you!"
Three seconds later—
Bang!
The Boulder lay unconscious against the spectator wall.
The Blind Bandit hadn't even moved much. She waited, listened, struck the moment his foot touched the ground.
Katara stared. "Was… that also part of the act?"
"No," Aang said, eyes shining. "She's using sound and vibration. She waited for the perfect moment."
Her silhouette overlapped perfectly with the girl from his vision.
"She's the Earthbending teacher I've been searching for."
Xin Fu raised a bag of gold coins.
"To spice things up—anyone who defeats the Blind Bandit gets this prize! Anyone brave enough to challenge her?!"
Aang shot to his feet—
—but someone beat him to it.
Kahn leaped straight from the stands into the ring, landing with a heavy thud as he grinned:
"Let me give it a try."
