Chapter 14 - Chapter 16: knowledge

The final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. I walked toward the library I preferred working alone on my assignments to keep my focus sharp.

As I entered the library, I saw Marinette sitting at a large wooden table. She was surrounded by sketchbooks and rolls of pink fabric. She looked stressed, her hair slightly messy as she chewed on the end of a pencil.

"Hey, Marinette," I said, "Working on a new project?"

"Oh! Finn! Hi!" she squeaked, nearly dropping her pencil. "Yeah, it is a commission for a friend.

But the measurements are all wrong, and the some things is wrong with the zipper, and—" She sighed, resting her head on the table. "I think I need a break."

"The library is a good place for that," I said. "As long as it stays quiet."

The quiet didn't last. The air in the library suddenly turned heavy and loud. I looked toward the front desk and saw a student arguing with the librarian over a textbook. I could see the dark energy gathering around him as his frustration grew.

A dark butterfly drifted through a window and merged with the student's fountain pen in his pocket. He transformed into a figure wearing silver armor with glowing blue visor. He called himself The Archivist.

He pointed his pen at a shelf. The information from the books physically ripped out as glowing blue data streams, leaving the books as empty white husks. The data formed solid, rotating shields around him.

"Marinette, we should get out of here!" I said, looking toward the exit.

"Right! You go, I'll... I'll find a place to hide!"

she shouted, already ducking behind a row of tall bookshelves.

I didn't argue. I ran toward the back of the library where there were shadows .

"Axel, call of the alpha," I said quietly.

The silver light covered me as I transformed into White Fang. I felt the surge of physical durability and stamina. I used my absolute silence ability to move without a sound, leaping up onto the high support beams of the ceiling.

Ladybug and Cat Noir arrived a moment later. The fight was intense. Cat Noir tried to strike, but the Archivist's data shields were too fast. They blocked every hit. Ladybug threw her yo-yo, but a stream of data wrapped around it and tossed her toward the shelves.

I stayed on the support beams, watching the timing of his shields. My Apex Instinct allowed me to see the rhythm of the blue light. I remained completely silent, waiting for the opening.

Ladybug used her Lucky Charm and got a high-powered flashlight. She shined it directly into The Archivist's visor. He hissed and raised his arms to block the light. This was the opening.

I dropped from the ceiling like a ninja. The wolf's strength made the jump feel like nothing.

I used my intimidation glare, and my speed to get close the Archivist froze. I lunged forward, grabbed the pen, and snapped it with a single hand.

Ladybug caught the butterfly and purified it. The "Miraculous Ladybug" power restored the library and the books. The student blinked, confused by the sudden chaos I checked up on him asked him if you're ok. He said yes and that he was sorry I said it was ok.

I headed for the side exit to regroup. I met Ladybug and Cat Noir on the school roof a minute later.

"That was impressive power, White Fang," Ladybug said. "You appeared out of nowhere."

"He was well-guarded," I said simply. "I just waited for the right window." That is a other victory for us pounded it 🤜🏼🤛🏼.

I slipped away and detransformed in an empty hallway. I waited a few minutes to make sure my breathing was normal before walking back into the library.

The room was empty for a moment, then Marinette walked in through the main doors, looking a bit out of breath. She stopped when she saw me already sitting back at the table.

"Finn! You're still here?" she asked, adjusting her jacket. "I ran to the courtyard when the fighting started. Is it safe? Is everything okay.

"Yeah," I said, picking up my things. "The heroes handled it. I just came back to grab my stuff, but it looks like everything is back to normal now."

"Total chaos, right?" she said, sitting down and letting out a long breath. "Actually, I think I just got an idea for the zipper problem."

I smiled and went back to my notes. We were both pretending we hadn't just been in a costume fighting a villain, and that was fine with me.
