I dropped my bag on the passenger seat and started the car. "You ready?"
Reid clicked his seatbelt. "Always."
We drove to the office in silence. I kept my eyes on the road and tried not to overthink. Reid stared out the window like he was used to early morning quiet. Soon we reached my office building, and I parked by the curb and looked up at the building.
I unbuckled my seatbelt. "You don't have to stay here all day, you know."
He just smiled and shrugged.
He followed me inside the building lobby, hands shoved into his jacket pockets while, again, people openly stared at him. Which, honestly, is fair. A six-foot-something lycan with resting serial killer face wasn't exactly blending in.
"You're making the interns nervous," I muttered while we walked toward the elevators.
He just smiled again. Then we took the elevator up. I headed straight for my office. Reid followed a few steps behind.
"I'll be around inside the building," he said. "Text if you need me."
"Got it."
