I sat in my temporary office staring at the same paragraph on my laptop for almost an hour. The afternoon light had shifted across the desk, but I couldn't make any real progress.
Oh, crap.
Every time I tried to focus on the client notes, my mind kept sliding back to the garden. The way Rhys had touched me until I came apart for the first time in two years. He made me feel things I'd almost forgotten I could feel.
And it was with Rhys. A lycan. An Alpha.
Part of me was shocked I hadn't stopped him sooner, shocked that I had actually wanted it.
My cheeks burned just thinking about it, and I caught myself smiling a little, shy and embarrassed, while butterflies swarmed in my stomach again.
This was ridiculous. My life was already complicated enough, and now I had crossed a line with someone who wasn't even human in the normal sense.
