"You have spent years pretending that this never happened", she said slowly
"I thought I just told you not to say anything", Jude snapped
"Well, you can keep pretending", she ignored him
Then took a brief pause
"But the world won't pretend", she continued
Jude's grip tightened around the phone again
"Hmmmn…..so what's the deadline for me to make the payment if I want to make the payment?", he asked
"Well, forty-eight hours", the woman replied quickly
"Well, you will get absolutely nothing from me"
"Oh! That's fine. Then I will just release everything", she said slowly
"Are you threatening me now?"
"Threaten you? I am not threatening you, Jude Maguire", she said firmly
She let out a faint smile
"I am just warning you", she added
The call ended and Jude remained motionless
For several seconds, he just looked at his phone as he slowly placed it on the table
"Damn it", he snapped
He carefully dropped into his chair
