Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Minecraft Anomaly

In a dark alleyway, a hideous, twisted monster crouched over a mangled heap of flesh. It feasted on the unrecognizable remains. Suddenly, a brilliant white light erupted from the gore, blinding the creature and forcing it to retreat with a sharp hiss.

The scattered blood and tissue rapidly reversed course, flying back into place. Bone and muscle regenerated at an impossible speed. Slowly, the intact figure of a young boy materialized from within the glow.

The boy snapped his eyes open and bolted upright. He frantically patted his chest and limbs.

"Hiss... I am in one piece, so why does everything hurt like hell? Is this a hallucination? And where are my clothes? Where even am I? I was just at home playing Minecraft..."

The radiant light faded, allowing the monster's guttural hisses to reach him again. The boy finally noticed the grotesque, indescribable mass lurking just steps away. His pupils constricted. He forgot how to breathe. A heavy silence stretched out for what felt like a century, though it was merely a single second.

"Help!"

The light vanished completely, and the monster lunged forward with a shrieking hiss. Trembling in despair, the boy threw his hands over his face and squeezed his eyes shut.

Am I going to die again? Wait, why did I say 'again'?

A sharp whistle of wind cut through the air, followed by a heavy, wet thud. The agony he expected never came. Instead, a crisp chime echoed in his mind. It sounded exactly like the noise of picking up an experience orb in Minecraft.

"Are you alright?"

The boy opened his eyes to see a blonde man staring down at him. The man wore green-tinted goggles and dressed like a tired office worker. He gripped a cleaver wrapped in a spotted cloth, purple blood dripping steadily from the blade. The monster from before lay sliced neatly in two, its body already dissolving into ash.

Kento Nanami? Does this mean I transmigrated into Jujutsu Kaisen?

"I'm... fine."

"Looks like he is scared stiff," Nanami noted calmly.

At that moment, a tall, silver-haired man wearing dark round sunglasses floated down from the sky. It was Satoru Gojo.

"Nanami, the ones upstairs are confirmed dead," Gojo said lightly. "This kid seems to be the only survivor."

He pulled a photograph from his pocket and held it up, comparing the image to the boy's face.

"Are you Kagura Shin?"

Shin did not answer. He was staring blankly at the empty air in front of him. A familiar interface hovered in his vision. It looked exactly like the Creative Mode inventory from Minecraft. Most of the blocks and items were greyed out. Only Dark Oak, Cobblestone, and Dirt remained illuminated, and each had a tiny zero tucked into the bottom right corner.

Is this my cheat system? There are no instructions. How do I unlock the rest of these items?

He suddenly recalled the experience chime from moments ago. Willing the inventory shut, he shifted his focus. Sure enough, a green experience bar rested at the very bottom of his vision, glowing faintly with a bright number one.

While Shin sat frozen in a daze, Gojo had already zipped upstairs, grabbed a spare set of clothes, and tossed them over. The fabric hitting his face finally snapped Shin back to reality. He quickly dressed and followed the two sorcerers into the adjacent apartment building.

Blood dripped steadily across the floor, leaving a gruesome trail up the stairwell. A suffocating sense of panic suddenly gripped Shin's chest.

No, why am I reacting like this? These aren't my real family members. I should only feel the distant pity of a stranger...

Yet, the closer he got to a specific door on the upper floor, the wilder his heartbeat became. He had no logical way of knowing which apartment belonged to this body, nor did he know the family inside.

His hand trembled violently as he pushed open the ajar door.

A living hell waited inside. A violently mutilated couple lay sprawled across the floor. Their bloodied hands reached desperately toward the doorway, as if begging for rescue. Shin tried to step closer, but his vision blurred completely. He reached up to wipe his eyes, only to realize tears were streaming down his cheeks.

This is wrong. I don't even know them! Did my soul actually lose control to this ordinary body? That only happens when the physical body holds a stronger will than the occupying soul!

An overwhelming sorrow crushed his chest, impossible to suppress. His legs gave out. Shin sank slowly to his knees, buried his face in his hands, and wept in absolute silence.

Standing quietly behind him, Gojo nudged his sunglasses down just a fraction. His brilliant blue Six Eyes locked onto the boy. He raised a curious eyebrow.

Oh, what interesting Cursed Energy. Two entirely distinct signatures are actually merging?

From the moment he arrived downstairs, Gojo had noticed two separate pools of Cursed Energy inside the boy. They had been entirely different in strength and nature, clashing like fire and water. But for some inexplicable reason, the sheer grief of this moment had shattered the barrier between them. The two energies were fusing together into a singular, undeniable force.

Shin eventually forced his tears to stop. Sensing the shift, Gojo repeated his earlier question.

"You are Kagura Shin, right?"

Shin lifted his head. His eyes were bloodshot, but his voice was steady.

"Yes, I am Kagura Shin."

Gojo studied him for a long moment before letting out a sudden, bright laugh. He pulled out his phone and dialed an Assistant Director to handle the cleanup and funeral arrangements for the Kagura family.

A heavy silence fell over the room as they waited. Gojo eventually broke the quiet.

"Nanami, give this kid the rundown on that ugly thing downstairs and explain how the Jujutsu world works. He has a real talent for becoming a Jujutsu Sorcerer."

Nanami shot Shin a measured look and began to speak in a slow, deliberate tone.

"The monster you saw earlier is called a Cursed Spirit. They are grotesque entities born entirely from the leaked negative emotions of humanity. We exist to eradicate them. We are Jujutsu Sorcerers."

Nanami laid out the brutal realities of their world in clear, meticulous detail. The three of them waited in the blood-stained apartment until the Assistant Director arrived to secure the scene. Afterward, they relocated to a specialized funeral home.

Later that evening, Shin stood silently before the incinerator, watching his parents' bodies burn. Once the cremation finished, he accepted a pair of wooden chopsticks. With steady hands, he picked up the remaining bone fragments one by one and gently placed them into the ceramic urn.

Rest in peace.
