Chapter 10 - The Broken Pen

The pen snapped between his fingers, as though it too had given up on him. Years of dedication, countless nights of labor, and sacrifices beyond measure—all seemed meaningless. Ethan stared at the broken instrument, tears mingling with ink on his hands.

He had sacrificed everything: friendships, love, comfort, even his health. The world had demanded proof of worthiness, and each time he offered it, rejection was the answer. The pen, a symbol of his dreams, now lay in fragments—much like his spirit.

He sat in silence, staring at the pieces, wondering if he had chased a ghost. The emptiness pressed down harder than ever. Writing had been his only escape, his sole identity, and now even it betrayed him. The weight of unfulfilled potential and unseen brilliance became unbearable.
