Chapter 159 - choice

Clang, clang, clang!

Their thick claws intertwined, clashing like steel, sending sparks flying as the two massive True Dragons, identical in scale color, suddenly halted, facing each other.

The Female Red Dragon Klenaya was panting heavily, the shattered scales on her right shoulder looked as if they had been neatly cut by a skilled human warrior with a sharp, enchanted blade, without any superfluous cuts.

"Hmph, no more fighting," the Female Red Dragon angrily exhaled two streams of fire from her mouth, burning against the Red Dragon's magical shield opposite her, but they were blocked by the shield, the scorching flames not even coming close to the other Red Dragon's scales.

"I'm always improving, but the gap between us is getting wider and wider, Kalon."

Klenaya frustratingly slapped her long tail, making the hard, flat ground clang loudly. "How can I ever keep up with you? I'm truly tired of being left behind and feeling powerless."

Every True Dragon would receive individual guidance from Kalon, and Kalon also taught the True Dragon some meditation methods for controlling dragon blood and ways to strengthen their mental will.

Kalon was always happy to see his companions grow together; this did not bring him pressure, but rather was one of his motivations.

Klenaya, this Female Red Dragon, did not particularly enjoy studying magic, preferring to destroy enemies with her physical body, so she often sparred with Kalon in close-quarters combat during their private lessons.

However, Kalon's secondary brain node cluster was initially created for this purpose, collecting many combat techniques and information. Kalon, whose fighting skills had gradually become a system of their own, could always easily defeat Klenaya, without even needing to rely on greater strength.

Therefore, after every combat practice, Klenaya would always be greatly disheartened. However, this stubborn Female Red Dragon's greatest advantage at the moment was that she became braver with each setback, fighting hundreds of battles and losing hundreds of times.

"Hmph, Klenaya, you've done well enough. Today, you even broke through three layers of my magic shield. You were just that close to touching my scales."

Kalon smiled, revealing his long fangs, spreading his True Dragon claw upwards, while the other three fingers curled and closed, his index finger and thumb touching, forming a gesture.

Klenaya watched speechlessly as magical light surged on Kalon's dazzling scales, regenerating layers of magical barriers.

Layers of magical barriers enveloped his body like heavy energy armor clinging to his scales. This energy armor not only protected his body well but also isolated his scent.

Klenaya couldn't even smell the strong odor of sulfur and magma unique to Red Dragon on Kalon's body. "Are you mocking me or praising me?" The little Female Red Dragon shook her head in dissatisfaction, her True Dragon horns gently pushing away Kalon's Dragon claw that covered her head.

This action always made Klenaya feel like a younger sister being cared for and comforted by Kalon, and she disliked that feeling somewhat.

But Klenaya's gentle movement couldn't reject Kalon's Dragon claw. Kalon rubbed Klenaya's head as if stroking a small dog.

"Growth takes time and effort, Klenaya, and the reason I grow faster than you all is because I've spent more time and effort than you, even though my excellent talent accounts for most of the proportion."

The relationship between Kalon and Klenaya had been quite strange since their infancy.

Kalon felt that since he was born first, he was naturally the elder brother, so after he gained control of his dragon blood, he always showed more tolerance towards Klenaya's actions, perhaps also due to some compensatory psychology from having beaten her too severely when they were young.

Klenaya, this Female Red Dragon, also changed her goal of dominating the True Dragon to surpassing Kalon, an incredibly difficult, almost impossible goal to achieve. She believed that she should be the elder sister, and therefore always developed some rebellious psychology.

But when Kalon truly made a decision, this Female Red Dragon, without a doubt, like Camid, never considered right or wrong, steadfastly supporting Kalon's decisions.

"You're strange, Kalon, you've been like this since you were little. Even the most ambitious True Dragon would never work as hard as you. In our True Dragon eyes, you're almost cruelly abusing yourself."

Female Red Dragon Klenaya narrowed her eyes, slightly pushing away Kalon's heavy Dragon claw. She said, "Liking to delve into magical knowledge is already considered a pathological symptom in the eyes of most True Dragon. There's an unpleasant title - 'Magic-addicted True Dragon ' - specifically for strange True Dragon like you."

"And you're far beyond that. If you hadn't carved your scales full of spells, I'd suspect you'd contracted this disease and spread it to the True Dragon."

Klenaya raised her head, looking up at Kalon's serene eyes. "Sometimes I even wonder if there's not a True Dragon's soul in your body!"

"So what?" Kalon's eyes didn't even show a ripple, calm as the deepest lake on the prairie, unmoved by the wind.

"So the True Dragons in the Dragon clan are waiting for your decision, haven't you noticed? The approaching slumber period is making every True Dragon restless. That's the nature of every life, and even more so, an unavoidable instinctual restlessness for True Dragons. After they pass the slumber period, they'll need to start choosing their mates."

Klenaya angrily pressed her True Dragon horns against Kalon's muscular chest, exerting all her strength to push the massive Kalon forward by a small half-step.

She loudly exclaimed, "Before you, our most noble sovereign, have set your goal, the True Dragon in the Dragon clan dare not and cannot choose their mates! Antagena has complained to me many times; no matter how she tries to please you, you haven't given a clear response."

"But the Green Dragon you look down on is a beautiful gem in the eyes of other True Dragon! You should express your intentions, don't let the True Dragon be unable to guess your meaning and be timid!"

"Look at Rosani, what has his restlessness twisted him into? He's started to obsess over those little mares, not even very interested in True Dragon!"

To be honest, only Klenaya dared to openly discuss and warn Kalon about such topics. Any male True Dragon who dared to bring up this issue to Kalon would be considered a challenge to the True Dragon's right to choose a mate.

Even though the relationship between the True Dragons had gradually evolved to be more like a big family, they were still True Dragons.

Kalon then realized that he had invested too much energy in other areas, so much so that he had actually overlooked these very obvious issues.

But Rosani's fault couldn't be pinned on him. Kalon said with a firm voice, "Rosani's is his own preference, you can't blame me for that. As for Antagena, my lack of reaction is the most obvious reaction."

Kalon gave his answer, "I regard Antagena as a little foolish sister who likes to act smart, and I have no subjective preference for her selection."

Klenaya accepted this answer, even though the concept of sister and brother was particularly faint among these Chromatic Dragon.

"Then what about me, Kalon? I'm stronger than that Green Dragon, and my bloodline is superior to the Green Dragon's." Klenaya gently pressed her True Dragon horns against Kalon's chest, her head began to tilt upwards, her slender neck coiling around Kalon's thick neck.
