Everyone was gathered around Elara, completely fascinated by the little girl.
I quietly walked over and stood behind Jay.
Aeron gently nudged her arm.

Jay looked down with a smile.

He smiled excitedly.
"Kai Kuya, Kyle Kuya, Kath Kuya, Kaya Ate, Kanya Ate and me were all selected!"

Then slowly looked at the older kids.
Jay: "You all forgot to tell me?"
The five children looked anywhere except at her.

Grace finally spoke.

Honey: "She really did all of that?"
Ion looked at Jay with wide eyes.
Ion: "I thought they were exaggerating."
Freya shook her head.
Freya: "No wonder Section E always says she's scary."
Ella laughed softly.
Ella: "I would've given up after one child."
Bella added,
"I would've given up before the exams."
Sara smiled.
"She's amazing."
Angela nodded.
"I don't even know how she managed all that."
Mica looked at Jay.
"And after hearing all this..."
"...you're still worried about exams?"
Jay scratched her cheek.
"...Old habits."
Everyone laughed once more.
Aries proudly wrapped an arm around Jay's shoulders.
Aries: "My monkey is smart."
Percy nodded.
"And amazing at sports."
Angelo looked at Jay for a long moment.
Then...
He smiled.
Angelo: "I'm proud of you, Jay."
Silence.
Jay froze.
She slowly looked at him.
"...Who are you?"
Everyone burst into laughter.
Jay: "What did you do to my Kuya?"
Angelo sighed.
"It's me."
Jay narrowed her eyes.
"No."
"My Kuya doesn't smile."
Then she copied his serious voice perfectly.
"I'm proud of you."
"I don't believe it."
Even Yuri laughed.
Yuri: "She's right, Angelo."
Aries immediately joined in.
Aries: "Exactly!"
"You never even told me you were proud of me after I closed that huge deal."
Percy nodded dramatically.
"Me neither."
Angelo pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Would all three of you be quiet?"
Then he looked at Jay.
"You had four children..."

"...played sports..."

"You deserve to hear it."
Jay's eyes softened.
She quietly nodded.
Then Angelo clapped once.
"Enough."
"I want to know what sports my niece and nephews are playing."
Jay smiled.
"Kai—Football and Swimming."
"Kyle—Basketball and Hockey."
"Kath—Tennis Singles and Badminton Doubles."
"Kaya—Gymnastics and Archery."
"Aeron—100-metre Sprint."
"And last but not least..."
"Kanya—Figure Skating and Relay Race."
Everyone looked impressed.
Then Jay looked at Aeron.
"So..."
"Who's Kath's badminton partner?"
Aeron's smile became suspicious.
He quietly called everyone...

The older children immediately gathered around him.
Kaya was already trying not to laugh.
Kanya covered her mouth.

The room laughed.
She clapped her hands.
"Enough."
"We have competitions to focus on."
All the children stood up together.
Kids: "YES!"
I smiled.
This family...
Never has a normal day.
