Jay POV
We were all inside the hospital room while the boys and younger kids waited outside.
For once, the room was peaceful.
Mica was holding Elara while Calix sat beside her looking like he couldn't stop smiling. Aum was resting with Lyra and Orion sleeping in their cribs nearby. The adults were quietly talking about random things while enjoying the rare moment of silence.
Then Calix suddenly stood up.
"I'll call everyone inside."
I nodded.
"Bring my kids too."
"Got it."
He walked out of the room.
A few moments later the door opened.
The peace disappeared instantly.
The kids rushed inside like a stampede.
"Mom!"
"Tita Jay!"
"Can we see the babies?"
I laughed.
"Slow down. You're going to scare them."
The kids immediately gathered around the twins' crib.
Kath's eyes widened.
"They're so cute."
Kyle nodded.
"Really cute."
Kai pointed at Orion.
"He looks tiny."
"Because he is tiny," Kaya replied.
The kids continued staring at the sleeping twins.
Then Kath looked at me.
"Mom, they're so small."
Kaya immediately nodded.
"Just like Aren and Kanya were."
They both instantly looked offended.
"Hey!"
Aren crossed his arms.
"We were not that small."
"Yes, you were," Gorya said.
"No, we weren't."
"Yes, you were."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
Kaning joined in.
"You were literally smaller."
"We weren't."
"You were."
Kanya pointed dramatically.
"Proof."
I looked at both of them.
"Did we see you when you were babies or did you see yourselves?"
They both froze.
The room became silent.
Everyone stared at them.
After a few seconds Aren sighed.
"Fine."
Kanya sighed too.
"Fine."
The room erupted into laughter.
I shook my head.
"That's what I thought."
Then I pointed toward Mica's crib.
"Hey. Stop ignoring Tita Mica's daughter."
The kids immediately rushed over.
Baby Elara was awake.
Unlike the twins, she wasn't sleeping.
She was quietly looking around the room with curious eyes.
Everyone instantly melted.
"Aww."
"She's looking at us."
"Hi baby."
"She's adorable."
Kaya carefully placed her hand near the crib.
Without warning Elara reached out.
Her tiny fingers wrapped around Kaya's finger.
The entire room exploded.
"OH MY GOD!"
"SHE TOUCHED HER!"
"LOOK!"
"KAYA SHE CHOSE YOU!"
Kaya's eyes widened.
"Mama!"
I laughed.
"What?"
"She loves me!"
The confidence in her voice made everyone laugh.
"Sure."
"No, really."
"Sure."
Elara tightened her tiny grip.
Kaya gasped.
"See?!"
The kids crowded around the crib.
Meanwhile I escaped before they started another argument.
I walked over to Aum.
Lyra and Orion were sleeping peacefully.
MJ looked exhausted.
The second he saw me his eyes lit up.
"Thank God."
"What?"
"Aum isn't listening."
I raised an eyebrow.
"Depends."
MJ pointed at his wife.
"I'm trying to make her sleep."
I looked at Aum.
Then at MJ.
Then back at Aum.
"That sounds reasonable."
"THANK YOU."
Aum rolled her eyes.
"I'm not tired."
"You literally gave birth."
"I'm fine."
"You're stubborn."
"I'm fine."
"Stubborn."
"Fine."
"Stubborn."
The argument continued.
I started laughing.
"Aum."
"What?"
"He's right."
Her eyes narrowed.
"Traitor."
I ignored that.
"You need rest."
"I'm not tired."
"Okay."
I sat beside her.
"Then promise me you'll sleep the second you get tired."
She thought for a moment.
Then nodded.
"Fine."
MJ looked like he was about to cry from happiness.
A few minutes later F4 entered the room.
Immediately the noise level doubled.
The room became packed.
Everyone was talking over everyone else.
Then suddenly Elio yelled from across the room.
"WAIT!"
Everyone jumped.
"What?"
"What happened?"
Elio pointed at the babies.
"What are their names?"
The room immediately became quiet.
All eyes turned toward me.
I sighed.
Apparently I was the spokesperson today.
"The twins are Lyra and Orion."
Everyone nodded.
"Nice."
"I like Orion."
"Lyra sounds cool."
I pointed toward Elara.
"And Mica's daughter is Elara."
The reactions were immediate.
"Beautiful."
"That's such a pretty name."
"I love it."
The kids spent the next few minutes repeating the names until they memorized them.
Eventually things calmed down again.
The younger kids sat with their tablets.
The adults returned to talking.
Then Edrix suddenly looked at me.
"Actually, I have a question."
"What?"
"How do you know F4?"
Several people looked interested.
I leaned back in my chair.
"It's because of Thyme."
Everyone looked toward him.
"When my mother and one of my stepfathers divorced, Mom was in Thailand for a while."
The room became quieter.
"Thyme's mother found out what happened and took me in."
I smiled slightly.
"She treated me like family."
Thyme smiled.
"And that's how he met us."
Everyone nodded.
Now it made sense.
Then something suddenly clicked inside my head.
I looked at Thyme.
"Wait."
"What?"
"Did you tell Mom and Tia about the babies?"
His eyes widened.
"Oh."
I stared.
"That's a no."
"That's a no."
I rubbed my face.
"Call them."
"Right now?"
"Right now."
"And tell them I met Section E and my brothers."
He nodded before leaving the room.
While he was gone Angelo looked at me.
"Who's Mom?"
"Thyme's mother."
"Oh."
I smiled.
"When my own mother couldn't take care of me for a while, she did."
The room became quiet.
"She's one of the reasons I got through those years."
Angelo nodded.
"I understand."
A few minutes later Thyme returned.
"Did you call?"
"Yep."
"What did they say?"
"They were excited."
I laughed.
"Sounds about right."
Everyone returned to their conversations.
The babies slept peacefully.
The adults talked.
The kids played on their tablets.
For the first time all day everything felt calm.
Then—
The door burst open.
"TITA JAY!"
Everyone looked up.
Areon came running into the room holding his tablet.
His face was bright red from excitement.
He looked like he had just discovered a hidden treasure.
"Whoa."
I laughed.
"Slow down."
Areon stopped in front of me.
"Tita Jay, look!"
He shoved the tablet toward me.
"What happened?" Angelo asked.
"I found something!"
"What?"
"I was reading and then I found this!"
The excitement in his voice instantly caught everyone's attention.
The kids abandoned their tablets.
The adults looked over.
"What is it?"
"Show us."
"Let me see."
Areon grinned proudly.
"I think this is so cool."
I took the tablet and looked at the screen.
The moment I read it I laughed.
"Seriously?"
"See!"
Areon pointed proudly.
"I told you!"
Now everyone was curious.
"What is it?"
"Show us."
The kids crowded around me while the adults leaned forward.
The room quickly became noisy again.
Everyone tried to see the screen at once.
At that exact moment Elara opened her eyes.
She stretched her tiny arms.
Then she let out the smallest yawn imaginable.
The entire room instantly forgot about the tablet.
"AWWWW!"
"LOOK!"
"SHE YAWNED!"
"THAT WAS SO CUTE!"
Everyone rushed back toward the crib.
