Chapter 1 - part 1 - THE NEWS

"Don't assume things by what you heard..."

"But that's how society works."

Papers flew into the air.

A tall blonde guy tsked, bending down quickly to gather them. A few people around helped, handing them back one by one.

"Be careful, Ronnie," a black-haired guy said, giving him the last paper. "I heard it's your final document... and you're still this clumsy."

Ronnie scratched the back of his neck and laughed nervously.

"Hehe... my bad, Raj. I'm in a super rush. Today's the deadline."

He checked his watch-and his eyes widened.

"Got to go. Later, dude!"

Before Raj could reply, Ronnie was already running.

Raj chuckled. "he runs like Flashman."

Ronnie finally reached the professor's cabin, slightly out of breath. He checked the time again.

"Geez... I'm dead meat."

He knocked.

"Come in."

He twisted the doorknob-but before he could step inside, a well-built man dressed entirely in black approached him.

"Sir... Ronnie-"

Ronnie froze.

Slowly, he turned.

"Why... are you here?"

The man hesitated.

"It's... about boss-"

Ronnie walked closer, panic rising in his chest.

"What happened to dad? Don't tell me he's hospitalized... serious condition... please no... I don't wanna hear that again..."

The man paused... then took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry, sir... but-boss is no more."

The documents slipped from Ronnie's hands.

"No... no way. I talked to him last night. He was fine... he was alright..."

His hands trembled as he kept repeating the same words.

The man stepped closer, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry for your loss, sir."

He handed Ronnie a bag.

"Boss's belongings... and property papers."

Ronnie looked at it, confused... broken.

"What do you mean? I should come there... I want to see him-"

He was cut off.

"Your dad didn't want you to come back... ever again."

Ronnie's breath hitched.

"Why? Because he's a villain? Scared his deeds will affect me? Or his enemies will come after me? I don't care if he's bad or good-he's my dad. I want to see him... transfer me there, please..."

The man didn't move.

"It's boss's order. I'm sorry, sir."

Ronnie stood there... like a statue.

No words. No movement.

The man gently guided him toward the car.

At the gate, Raj watched everything.

His smile faded.

Something was very wrong.
