Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: A Little Nobody

"Boss!"

Hearing this, the supervisor turned around and saw a young man about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old walking toward them.

He was tall and thin.

From a distance, he looked to be nearly 1.8 meters tall.

However, his weight was estimated to be only around 50 kilograms.

Wearing a loose T-shirt, he looked like a bamboo pole.

A gust of wind could blow him away at any moment.

When Huang Mingyuan, who had been shouting just a moment ago, saw this young man, his voice faltered, and his neck instinctively shrank back.

After a moment, his expression returned to normal.

"Old Chang, you came at the right time."

Huang Mingyuan said loudly to the young man, "Look at the kind of people you've hired in this bar."

"I was beaten until my head was bleeding."

Huang Mingyuan pointed at his head. "Your security stopped me without a second thought, while that country bumpkin is perfectly fine. And that supervisor—it's like he's deaf!"

Hearing Huang Mingyuan's voice, the young man looked over, frowned, and walked a few steps closer.

After observing carefully, a smile appeared on his face. "Oh, it's Huang Mingyuan. With all that blood on your face, I almost didn't recognize you."

Huang Mingyuan looked indignant and was about to speak, but the young man ignored him and walked up to the supervisor, asking calmly, "What's going on?"

The supervisor immediately explained the sequence of events.

At the same time, to avoid any misunderstanding, he specifically added, "This Mr. Zhou is the guest you specifically instructed us to treat well. He just ordered ten sets of the Dragon Set in the bar."

Hearing this, the young man immediately glanced at Zhou Xing. When he saw that excessively young face, he was also somewhat surprised. "So it's him..."

"Alright, I understand. Go back to your work; I'll handle the rest."

The young man nodded and then instructed, "Remember, first disperse the onlookers, and don't let them take photos or let any photos leak out."

"If you find anyone doing that, remember their face and blacklist them immediately. Never let them in again!"

The supervisor bowed slightly. "Understood, Boss."

"Go ahead."

The young man waved his hand, and the supervisor left immediately.

"Little Huang, how did you get beaten like this? This doesn't seem like your style."

The young man circled around and came back to Huang Mingyuan, teasing him with a smile.

"Some country bumpkin popped out of nowhere, thinking he can do whatever he wants just because he has a little money."

Huang Mingyuan was fuming. "As long as he dares to stay in Shanghai, I'll make sure he pays for this!"

After hearing Huang Mingyuan's words, the young man's expression suddenly darkened. "If I remember correctly, this should be the third time you've caused trouble in my bar."

Huang Mingyuan's expression changed, and he wanted to defend himself, but the young man continued, "The previous two times, I cleaned up your mess and didn't hold you accountable, but I warned you that if it happened again, I wouldn't be so polite."

The young man patted Huang Mingyuan's shoulder and said in a chilling tone, "It seems you really didn't take my words to heart. Do you really think I, Chang Wenyu, can't do anything to you?"

Huang Mingyuan no longer had his previous arrogance. He smiled flatteringly and said, "Brother Chang, I know I was wrong the last two times, and I apologized."

"But this time, I can't take it. I was repeatedly insulted by a country bumpkin and even had my head smashed open with a bottle. If I don't vent this anger, how can I continue to show my face in Shanghai?"

"Brother Chang, we're both from Shanghai. You can't possibly help a country bumpkin, right?"

Huang Mingyuan added hurriedly, "This is between him and me. Don't worry... it definitely won't affect the bar's normal operations. You just need to stay out of it."

"You mean, you want me to actively hand over a guest of my bar?"

Chang Wenyu said with an amused look, "Are you okay?"

"If I can't even protect my bar's guests, who would dare to come here in the future?"

Huang Mingyuan's expression turned sour. "Brother Chang, do you mean you're going to protect that country bumpkin and not give me any face?"

"I'm a regular at your bar, and I spend quite a lot here throughout the year."

Chang Wenyu smiled. "Let me correct you. He's no country bumpkin. It's his first time here, and his total spending is more than yours in an entire year."

"And..."

Chang Wenyu said with disdain, "You were the one who started the trouble this time. It's already good enough that I'm not looking for trouble with you. You still think you have 'face'?"

"Do you really think you're some young master of Shanghai?"

Chang Wenyu turned to a Staff Member and said, "This person—cancel his membership. He is never allowed to step foot in this bar again."

"Chang Wenyu, you!"

Huang Mingyuan hadn't expected that Chang Wenyu would not only refuse to help him but would also completely cut ties.

"Before I really lose my temper, get the hell out of here!"

Chang Wenyu said bluntly, "Get lost. If you're not satisfied, you can call the police or get your family to handle this."

"I'll take it all on."

"I'll see then just how deep your family's pockets are and if you're qualified to play with me!"

Huang Mingyuan glared at Chang Wenyu but ultimately didn't dare to say a single threatening word. He could only huff coldly and turn to leave.

He knew clearly that in terms of family background, he wasn't even fit to carry Chang Wenyu's shoes.

If he really offended him to the death... his little family fortune wouldn't even be enough to pay the damages.

As for calling the police.

Huang Mingyuan couldn't bring himself to do such a thing.

There were many unwritten rules among the Second-generation rich.

If there was a conflict, you solved it yourself; you didn't involve your family or the police.

Breaking the rules wasn't just as simple as having a bad reputation and being mocked.

More importantly, the Shanghai circles would no longer have a place for him.

"Just a Little Nobody, insisting on acting like the emperor of shanghai."

Chang Wenyu sneered.

He stopped paying attention to the matter.

He turned and walked to the booth, saying with a smile, "You must be Zhou Xing, who booked the spot through China Merchants Bank today. I'm one of the shareholders of the bar. My name is Chang Wenyu."

Zhou Xing also stood up and shook hands with him.

Although the bar had shares from the celebrity Little Cheetah, he also understood that a bar like this wasn't something a mere celebrity could manage alone.

There was definitely someone behind it; the celebrity was just there for the spotlight and to lend some of his fame.

That was why it was marketed that way.

Looking at it now, as expected, the bar owner was someone else.

"You've really opened my eyes. Using a bank's VIP service to book a bar booth—I've been running bars for several years, and this is the first time I've encountered it."

Chang Wenyu said with a smile.

"Aren't VIP services meant to be used? It's the same no matter what you book. If I don't use it, wouldn't it just be a bargain for those people at the bank?"

Zhou Xing appeared very calm.

"Hahaha... you're right."

Chang Wenyu laughed. "You're really to my taste. When I got the call from the bank, I was wondering what kind of person you were and hoped for a chance to meet."

"Now that I've seen you, you're younger than I imagined. But then again... only a young person would do something like this."

Chang Wenyu asked, "How about we be friends?"

"My pleasure."

Zhou Xing raised an eyebrow.

One doesn't hit a smiling face, and besides, today's incident wasn't his fault.

It had nothing to do with him.

Chang Wenyu took out his phone and added Zhou Xing's WeChat, then looked at him. "You look a bit unfamiliar. Otherwise, I would definitely have an impression of someone like you. Did you just arrive in Shanghai?"

"Yeah."

Zhou Xing nodded. "School starts in September, and my university is here, so I came early to take a look."

"Whoa... only eighteen?"

Chang Wenyu was a bit surprised. "It looks like you've just been released from restrictions, so you wanted to come out and let loose, right?"

Before the age of eighteen, families usually kept a tight rein on Second-generation rich kids.

Zhou Xing didn't deny it.

"Does your family own a mine? Only eighteen, and yet you have such a deep background, spending millions in a bar in one night!"

Chang Wenyu was truly shocked.

Even with his family background, when he was eighteen, he couldn't be as carefree as Zhou Xing.

To be able to take out a million just like that!

"Just a small-to-medium enterprise."

Zhou Xing smiled faintly. "If you're talking about owning a mine, my family's company does indeed have mines under its name."

As a leader in the heavy industry sector.

The mines under their banner were quite numerous, counted by the hundreds.

"Then I really didn't come in vain today."

Chang Wenyu said, "With a family background like yours, brother, I expect it won't be long before you're making waves in Shanghai."

"That Huang Mingyuan—I don't know where he got the nerve to try and challenge you."

Seeing Zhou Xing's confused expression, Chang Wenyu explained, "The one whose head you just smashed with a wine bottle."

Only then did Zhou Xing learn Huang Mingyuan's name.

"What's his background?"

Zhou Xing asked.

"Actually, it's nothing much. His family does construction earthworks, scraping together some money by dealing with construction waste."

Chang Wenyu said with disdain, "All together, their net worth is only three or four hundred million. He keeps a group of people around him, and since he's the only child, he gets a lot of pocket money. Huang Mingyuan is used to being arrogant and has caused trouble in my bar more than once or twice."

"I thought he was some big shot, claiming he'd make it so I couldn't stay in Shanghai. So that's all he is."

Zhou Xing also chuckled. "I'd like to see what tricks he has up his sleeve next."

"I've already kicked that kid out and banned him from this bar forever. Consider it venting some anger for you."

Chang Wenyu said somewhat gleefully, "But even if I didn't kick him out, he's unlucky to have run into you. He really thinks having a little net worth means he can walk all over Shanghai. He'll be finished sooner or later."

"I didn't tell him about your status as a China Merchants Bank ultra-high net worth private banking client. Otherwise, he'd probably be scared out of his wits. Even his father doesn't have that kind of standing; how would he dare provoke you?"

"Usually, this guy tries to suck up to me, which is annoying. It's good to let him learn a lesson."

He also couldn't stand Huang Mingyuan, so he had kept that information to himself and chosen not to warn him.

"You're quite mischievous yourself."

Zhou Xing said with a smile.

Chang Wenyu laughed heartily. "You're really my kind of person. It's too noisy here; let's go out for a meal next time and have a good chat."

"Not going to have a drink here?"

Zhou Xing asked.

"No."

Chang Wenyu glanced at the nearly ten Flight Attendants in the booth and said with a sly smile, "I won't disturb your harem. But you should take it easy; even though you're young, don't ruin your health."

"Get lost. Even if you're ruined, I won't be."

Zhou Xing said irritably.

Chang Wenyu smiled. "Alright, it's a deal then. You keep having fun. I've sent my number to your WeChat; just call me if anything comes up."

Before leaving, Chang Wenyu called the supervisor over again. "Remember, serve Zhou Xing well. Don't let him get unhappy, and make sure something like the Huang Mingyuan incident never happens again."

"Understood."
