Jare's pov:
My mind didn't stop I was worried abt Jay and Mia?
She couldn't stop talking abt Jay....She seems to love Jay a lot.
Which makes me feel happy.
She is a prodigy....But grandpa and grandma would definitely chase her away if they know I love her..... Just like Jax chose a scholar girl with no status.
They hated Jay ever since they found out she helped him escape. Mom and Dad.... they couldn't help him they tried.
GOD! they tried so hard.
My mind was drifting to multiple thoughts at the same time. I didn't know which step to take anymore.
My TV screen lit up in a.... family call.
Great! this includes the 2 devils (A/N: the 2 devils are his grandparents)
All their faces flashed. No one spoke. Grandpa begin first.
"Jare you and Jay have three more months. The schools you both are studying in is garbage not a place for prodigy! I have talked to your school here in New york. If you both are scoring full marks in every subject...That examinations are just not hard enough!" He said in a low voice.
Which explained me that he just finished talking to our school their in new york to increase standards. The Mariano's owned the school. Or me and Jay owned the school of prodigy.
A school built only for prodigies.
These 2 devils?
They are guiding the school.
The scholars they are just for showcasing talent....for fame, reputation.
Dad hates it. But still...listens to the devils.
Disappointing.
"I have told the school to raise the standards more! It's just a simple expectation.....All Mariano's are prodigies. So moving forward from now on after coming here I expect improvement. You will start learning about family business."
I listened but I was annoyed.
"Is that clear Jare?"
I was distracted until the scream from him.
"IS THAT CLEAR JARE???"
I flinched.
"Y-yes grandpa"
Lola was too silent which wasn't good. But the minute she opened her mouth it wasn't good news.
"I have an announcement: Jay is engaged to Jason! The boy who she used to date the boy who didn't have status now....he does!"
This wasn't a good announcement. These 2 devils just made decisions without asking her or my parents.
I finally opened my mouth.
"Lola....You rejected him...now you want her to except her"
"Jare she used to date him...I'm pretty sure now that he is back with a good status. She can date him."
"Lola what if she loves someone else now? You should ask for her decision you guys weren't like this!"
Tears filled me. I didn't want to see her suffer. She suffered enough.
"That's enough Jare she had lost the right to make decision when she helped Jax. We will always spoil her...even now we do! we want to. She is the only girl girl so it's normal. And if she does love someone...he needs to have a proper status so he could pamper her and adore her!" Grandpa's voice cut through my question sharp like pieces of clear glass.
I nodded fists curled.
"Well....we need to leave now talk to you later. Tell Jay to bid her goodbyes to her friends there. the engagement....we will tell her abt it!"
This one was firm from grandma they left the call.
Now me with: Mama, papa, and...percy.
"Jare guess what! Today someone asked me out. They said my face face is handsome- like I'm the most handsome person in the world. They asked what products I use? Do you know what I answered them?" Percy grinned.
He somehow lightens up the heavy, suffocating atmosphere.
"What?" I asked flat even though I knew what he did.
"People keep asking for my 'routine,' but how do I explain that you can't buy these genetics?"
I laughed.
My parents laughed. Mom clutched her stomach
"Percy...were you facing the mirror and asked yourself that question. Because you definitely have an average looking-face" I asked still laughing so hard tears came.
Percy's mouth dropped.
"Hey how did you find that out. And do you have any idea how much time mu routine takes??" He scoffed offended.
"Ok that's enough percy!" Mom said, still laughing hard.
Dad too.
"But Ma-" He was cut off with glare by mama
"Well anak take care and come here we miss you. Take care of Jay!" papa said.
I nodded.
"Dane is coming from abroad at the same time!" Mom was excited.
"Great mama! there will definitely be a sibling day then!"
I grinned. Percy beamed with excitement.
The call ended with goodbye.
But Jay....she still hasn't come home....
