Chapter 16: Madara, You Were Wrong
Driven by the curiosity burning in their hearts, Hashirama and Tobirama continued reading.
The deceits and conspiracies of the Naruto world were stripped bare, one by one.
The Akatsuki organization, the Rinnegan, Nagato, Obito Uchiha, Madara Uchiha, Black Zetsu, Kaguya Otsutsuki... layer upon layer of overlapping conspiracies were laid out clearly before their eyes.
Particularly when Madara Uchiha had just become the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki, only to have his heart pierced by Black Zetsu—triggering the full descent of Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Hashirama watched the scene with profound sadness. "Madara, you were wrong... how could you trust a shadow whose origins were so unclear?"
In contrast, Tobirama's face was split by a wide grin. He couldn't hold back a burst of laughter; he looked like he was about to join the ranks of the "Giggling Uchiha" quartet.
"To think he could be played like a fiddle by a lowly subordinate until he was spinning in circles! Madara Uchiha, oh, Madara Uchiha... I thought you were so formidable, but it turns out you were just a pure, unadulterated idiot!"
Right now, he truly wished Madara Uchiha was standing right there so he could mock that fool to his heart's content.
"Be quiet, Tobirama."
Hashirama didn't hesitate to give his younger brother a quick smack, instantly silencing the manic laughter. "Madara has suffered enough, and yet you're still laughing at him. Do you have no heart?"
"Brother, I'm your younger brother here!"
Tobirama felt a surge of indignation. His own brother had hit him for the sake of Madara Uchiha. It was completely illogical.
Hashirama ignored him and turned to Orochimaru. "Your name is Orochimaru, right? Can you use that Summoning Technique to call Madara as well? This matter must be told to him so he doesn't continue being a fool."
This time, Tobirama didn't object. He was actually dying to see the look on Madara Uchiha's face when he realized he'd been tricked. That way, he could laugh at him even harder. Attacking an enemy from the shadows wasn't nearly as satisfying as mocking them to their face.
Just imagining the scenario made Tobirama visibly excited.
Yumesaki saw the gleam in Tobirama's eyes and knew exactly what the man was thinking. He couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Yep, that's Tobirama alright. His heart is pitch black.
However, hearing the request, Orochimaru shook his head. "After Madara Uchiha died, his body fell into the hands of Black Zetsu. I don't possess any of his cells, so I cannot reanimate him with Edo Tensei."
Hashirama realized that made sense, and his mood instantly turned gloomy. Now he couldn't even help Madara if he wanted to. He felt truly useless.
On the other hand, Tobirama glanced at his brother, then looked away. He had long since grown accustomed to his brother's dramatic behavior. His gaze shifted back to Tsunade.
"Little Tsunade, what else happened after that?"
Judging by the Naruto storyline, it was undoubtedly a happy ending. If that were the case, Tsunade wouldn't have summoned them. There had to be something else.
Tsunade looked at Yumesaki, who then brought out the Boruto series.
Hashirama, no longer feeling gloomy, quickly leaned in to watch Boruto alongside Tobirama Senju. Once they finished, the two of them fell into a heavy silence.
"The Otsutsuki Clan, huh?"
Tobirama let out a long sigh. The Shinobi world had only known peace for about a decade or so before the Kara organization, clones, Scientific Ninja Tools, and the like began to emerge. Even aliens were descending one by one, and the power scaling had jumped up more than just a notch.
It was no wonder Tsunade had called the two of them. The pressure was indeed too immense.
But the problem was that they weren't of much use either. Even if his brother was resurrected, he was still below the level of the Six Paths. They couldn't even defeat Madara Uchiha when he had the Rinnegan, let alone the powerhouses of the Otsutsuki Clan.
Hashirama's face was equally grim. The Otsutsuki Clan was staggeringly powerful; he couldn't see a single path to victory.
"Little Tsunade... we who are already dead likely have no way to help you."
"And even if I am fully revived, I wouldn't be able to win against those Otsutsuki people."
"The future of the Shinobi world... you will likely have to find a way yourselves."
Tobirama spoke up: "As much as I hate to admit it, for once, Brother is right."
Tsunade quickly interjected, "This matter isn't without hope."
Yumesaki casually handed over a set of the One Piece manga.
Tsunade explained, "Yumesaki has the ability to travel to other worlds. Naruto was just his first stop. Now, he has already established a connection with this One Piece world."
"We can gather the strength of two worlds to fight the Otsutsuki."
"If that's not enough, we can wait for Yumesaki to connect with even more worlds. When that time comes, we will surely be able to defeat the Otsutsuki Clan."
Tobirama fixed Yumesaki with a sharp, piercing stare. He had sensed earlier that this boy wasn't simple, but it seemed he had still underestimated him. Being able to travel between multiple worlds freely... such an ability was truly shocking—and terrifying.
Hashirama, meanwhile, had already started reading One Piece.
Before long, the two of them had finished the One Piece story arc.
Tobirama clicked his tongue a few times. "This world is indeed fascinating. Especially the power of the Devil Fruits—they are quite miraculous. If Brother is revived and adds the power of a Logia-type fruit like the Mori Mori no Mi to his arsenal, he would undoubtedly reach new heights."
His elder brother had swept across the Shinobi world using nothing but Wood Release. If he possessed the power of the Mori Mori no Mi (Woods-Woods Fruit), he could absorb sunlight and even natural energy to strengthen himself. Who knows? He might truly reach a level equivalent to the Six Paths.
Even if that wasn't possible, they could use the resources of two worlds to cultivate a new pair of Rinnegan and transplant them into his brother's body. At that point, he could absolutely hold his own against the Otsutsuki.
Hashirama Senju spoke up: "I think the Mori Mori no Mi should be given to little Tsunade instead."
He already had his Wood Release; he didn't particularly crave something like the Mori Mori no Mi. But little Tsunade hadn't inherited his power. Perhaps the Mori Mori no Mi would suit her better.
Tsunade shook her head. "Actually, the fruit that suits me best isn't the Mori Mori no Mi, but the Ope Ope no Mi."
The power of the Ope Ope no Mi (Op-Op Fruit) was beyond doubt. However, in Tsunade's eyes, its current user—Trafalgar Law—wasn't utilizing the fruit to its full potential at all. He had turned a support-type fruit into a combat-type one. While creative, the original surgical capabilities of the fruit hadn't been fully explored.
Tsunade felt that if she obtained this fruit, she could develop its abilities in countless ways. Medical operations that seemed impossible would become trivial in her hands.
Yumesaki nodded in total agreement. Tsunade and the Ope Ope no Mi were a match made in heaven. In her hands, that fruit would perform functions that would leave Trafalgar Law in the dust by miles.
Hashirama recalled the abilities of the Ope Ope no Mi, then thought of Tsunade's medical prowess, and nodded his approval.
"It seems the younger generation has a sharper head on their shoulders after all. The Ope Ope no Mi is indeed perfect for little Tsunade."
