Chapter 17 - JUNGKOOK

The classroom felt unusually loud that day.

Not because of studies.

Because no one was studying.

"Truth or Dare!" someone shouted from the back.

You sighed, resting your chin on your hand.

"Not again…"

"Come on, Y/N," Minji pulled your arm."You can't escape this every time."

"I'm not escaping, I'm just… uninterested."

"That's exactly why you're playing today," Hana smirked.

Before you could argue—

you were already dragged into the circle.

Students sat around casually.

Laughing. Teasing. Passing a bottle.

You noticed them too.

Jimin—leaning back, watching everything with a half-smile.

Taehyung—sitting quieter than usual, phone in hand but not really using it.

You looked away quickly.

The game started.

One by one—

truths were revealed.

Dares were completed.

Nothing serious.

Just fun.

Until—

The bottle stopped.

And pointed at you.

"Ohhh finally," Minji clapped.

You groaned.

"Of course."

"Truth or dare?" someone asked.

"Truth," you said immediately.

"No guts," Minji teased.

"Shut up."

The guy in front of you grinned.

"Okay then… tell us about your ex."

The room reacted instantly.

"OHHHH—"

"Wait she had one??"

You froze.

That wasn't what you expected.

For a second—

you thought of skipping.

Joking it off.

But something in you didn't.

"…Fine," you said quietly.

The room settled.

"His name was Jungkook," you said.

Silence.

Jimin's posture shifted slightly.

Taehyung's eyes lifted from his phone.

"We were together… before I came here," you continued.

Your voice stayed calm.

"We broke up because he had to move abroad."

Someone asked softly,"You don't talk anymore?"

You paused.

Then—

"…We do."

That got a reaction.

"You still talk to your ex??"

You shrugged slightly.

"It wasn't… a bad breakup."

Minji leaned forward.

"Show us a picture."

You hesitated.

Just for a second.

Then—

you unlocked your phone.

Scrolled.

And stopped.

There he was.

You turned the screen.

A photo of you and Jungkook.

Smiling.

Close.

Happy.

"Damn…" someone whispered.

"He's good-looking."

"Very."

You didn't react.

You just looked at the picture for a second longer.

Then locked your phone.

You didn't notice it immediately.

But Jimin did.

The way your expression changed.

Softer.

Quieter.

Like you went somewhere else for a second.

Taehyung noticed too.

Not the photo.

But you.

"Still like him?" someone asked casually.

The question hit differently.

You looked up.

"…I don't know," you said honestly.

That answer—

wasn't light.

And everyone felt it.

The game moved on.

But the mood had shifted.

Not for everyone.

Just…

for some.

After class ended—

people left slowly.

You packed your bag quietly.

"You okay?" Hana asked.

"Yeah."

"You sure?"

You nodded.

"I'll go," you said.

And walked out.

You didn't get far.

"Y/N."

You turned.

Jimin.

He walked up to you.

"That was new," he said.

You frowned slightly.

"What?"

"Jungkook."

You looked away.

"…Yeah."

Silence.

"You never mentioned him," he said.

"I didn't think I had to."

"You didn't."

Pause.

"But still."

You looked at him.

"…What?"

"Nothing," he said.

But again—

his tone didn't match.

Before it could go further—

"You're still in contact."

You turned.

Taehyung.

Standing there.

That calm voice again.

But this time—

it felt different.

"…Yeah," you said.

"How often?"

The question was direct.

You blinked.

"…Sometimes."

Silence.

Jimin looked between you both.

Taehyung nodded slightly.

Then said—

"Does he know?"

Your heart skipped.

"Know what?"

"That you've moved on."

That question—

felt heavier than anything else.

Because…

had you?

You didn't answer.

Jimin spoke this time.

"Why does that matter?"

Taehyung didn't look at him.

"It doesn't," he said.

But again—

it didn't feel like the truth.

You exhaled.

"I didn't hide anything," you said.

"No one said you did," Taehyung replied.

"Then why does this feel like an interrogation?"

Silence.

Because now—

you were right.

Jimin stepped in slightly.

"Forget it," he said."It's not a big deal."

But his jaw tightened slightly.

Taehyung looked at you one last time.

Not angry.

Not upset.

Just…

thinking.

"…Okay," he said.

And walked away.

That left you and Jimin.

"You didn't answer him," Jimin said quietly.

"I didn't have an answer."

Silence.

Then—

"Do you still like him?"

You looked at him.

"…I told you. I don't know."

He nodded slowly.

"…Right."

But something in his eyes—

changed.

Just slightly.

You stood there.

Feeling it again.

That same thing.
