#Chapter 37
It was raining that night.
The air was so humid and dense, that it was hard to breathe even while not doing anything.
The old, shabby ceilings couldn’t shield the Arlez children from the pouring rain.
Ethan helped his sisters bring small buckets to collect the leaking rainwater.
Listening to little clear droplets dive into the buckets, the three of them gathered around and had mundane conversations.
-Aerta, I’m hungry.
-Don’t worry, Cheryl. Mother and Father will be back soon.
Ethan sat there listening to his sisters talk, while he looked out the window.
The rain fogged up the streets, making the city seem extra grey today.
Ethan curled up into a ball.
He wished for their parents’ safe return when the old, wooden doors of their house flung open.
Along with the ear-piercing sound of the rusty door hinge, humid air woodshed inside.
-You’re home!
Aerta exclaimed as she got up from her seat.
