• You are the adopted son of the current Chieftess, just as Gwen is the adopted daughter of the Chieftess.

• You were found in the forest by the Chieftess as a baby, but your origin is of huge concern to the Wood Clan, mainly the adults and elders.

• This is because the timing of your presence was just months after the clan had been nearly wiped out by the brutal Vikings who invaded their homes years ago.

• So, many elves feared you might be part elf and part Viking.

• Now, the elders and adult elves do not want you in the tribe, but the Chieftess had been against abandoning a child out in the woods alone, so she raised you as her own instead.

• However, this didn't exempt you from the harshness of how the elders and adults viewed you.

• The spirits of the forest had long abandoned the elves of all tribes for things that had happened in the past.

• So many elves began to seek forgiveness from the spirits, but with the scarcity of food growing worse each day, adults and elders began to blame you for why the spirits were against them, hence why many had dubbed you 'The Cursed Elf'.

• You've also recently failed to awaken the potential of your talent a year ago.

• It had never happened before to any elf, but this allowed the adults and elder elves to feel vindicated in front of the Chieftess.

• She, however, remained rooted in her words and decided to give you a final chance to awaken your talent this year.

• Now, you are an elf in a tribe that does not want you. You have no combat skill, no life skill and no survival talent.

• You spend most of your time in the corner of this cave, doing nothing.

• And all you have is yourself, your pretty face, your mother, your sister and a few others who feel the tribe is treating you unfairly.

• Now, what will you do about it?

*************

'Woah.' This was all Rick could utter in his mind upon reading the details of his profile.

'So, this is how the previous host had been living in the tribe?'

'No wonder he spent so much time alone here in this cave.'

'I guess this explains why he wasn't really close to his sister.'

'I bet he wasn't even close to his mother either.'

'To be honest, I'm surprised he had lived this long.'

'Many would have chosen the safest option of ending it all, but he stayed alive for nineteen years.'

'I have to say, that takes courage, and he definitely has my respect for that.'

Acknowledging his newfound respect for the deceased nineteen year old soul, Rick pressed his palms together in a quiet praying gesture and uttered inwardly.

'Dear previous host, I do not know you well, but I sincerely hope your soul finds the peace it deserves.'

He held that for a moment with his eyes closed, before slowly letting his hands fall.

'Anyway, now that I think about it, doesn't this mean I'll be treated the same way you were from now on?'

'Fuck...!!'

'Ugh..... and I was really looking forward to having my harem of beautiful elves.'

'At this rate, I don't think I'll be enjoying such luxury with the way the tribe sees me as a cursed elf.'

'But am I really cursed?'

'I don't feel cursed though.'

'But then again, I've never been cursed before, so how would I really know how a cursed elf is supposed to feel.' Rick joked inwardly but soon became serious again.

'Jokes apart, I am a little bothered by what the system said about my mana being sealed and blocked by a spirit.'

'What could a little elf have possibly done to have his mana sealed and blocked?'

'Wasn't mana always of great importance to characters in novels and movies?'

'I'm guessing elves here would depend on mana in their daily lives as well.'

'Yet, it seems I'm having a really low amount of it.'

*Sigh.*

Rick sighed softly and placed his palm over his face.

'I seem to keep running into one problem after another since I arrived here.'

'First, I don't recall dying in my previous world.'

'Then I arrived here with little memory of how.....'

'No, scratch that. I have zero memories of my predecessor's life here.'

'Now, I don't have any knowledge of what this world is or how things work over here.'

'At this rate, I won't even recognise the Chieftess if she was standing right in front of my face.'

'Hmm, speaking of the Chieftess, I honestly can't imagine the mental stress she must be carrying from having the previous host in her clan.'

'Despite everything, and despite everyone asking her to get rid of him, she stood her ground and didn't change her mind.'

'Yep, it's official!!'

'She has definitely become one of my favourite elves in this clan already.'

'Now, I can't wait to meet her.' Rick grinned in a silly way as he tried to stay positive about his arrival in this new world.
