Abi helped me upstairs. I was weak, but with her arm around my back, I managed.
It was only when I got to my bedroom door that I remembered Senne.
I shuddered once, remembering her fist that burned bright red the night before.
Flashbacks. I got up, trying to stop her, although I didn't know what I was really trying to stop. The sound of gifts dropping non-stop ringing like a fire bell. The AI voice reading out the ridiculous messages that ran so fast it was glitching.
"Stop it!"
I remembered shouting. Senne did not answer. The red flame in her fist grew larger.
"Stop it!"
I pleaded, but the room, despite the raging fire on her hand, was only getting colder.
I shivered. My jaw was trembling.
