Chapter 7: The Long Wait
Not far away, Izuku Midoriya was speaking to Bakugo Katsuki with a worried expression. However, Bakugo paid him no attention at all and clearly didn't take him seriously.
At this moment, Bakugo's focus was entirely on Izuna.
There were two reasons for this.
First, he had to figure out what method Izuna had used to defeat the sludge monster.
Second, one day he would definitely find an opportunity to crush him under his feet.
In fact, All Might had already arrived at the scene before the sludge monster was defeated. However, because of the condition of his body, he couldn't fight again in such a short time.
Just as he was feeling anxious, he saw that the hostage and the boy who rushed in to rescue him both walked out almost completely unharmed.
As for who had actually defeated the sludge monster, opinions were divided. Izuna and Bakugo even kept pushing the credit onto each other.
In this world, that was practically unheard of.
"Let's not worry about that for now," the leading police officer said with a helpless sigh as he looked at the chaotic scene. "First, let's send the two kids home."
Out of concern for protecting minors, the police did not release any personal information about Izuna or Bakugo.
As a result, Izuna was not disturbed by reporters after returning home.
The following days were relatively uneventful.
Izuna spent his time wandering around the city, sleeping, and eating.
Eventually, just when he was about to die of boredom—
He finally received a letter from U.A. High School.
However, the entrance exam listed on the notice would take place…
Ten months later.
"…"
Meanwhile, at the city police station, the officers were still discussing the sludge monster incident from several days earlier.
Since waking up, the sludge monster had behaved like a madman—laughing one moment and crying the next—making it impossible for the police to properly question him.
As a result, the investigation had completely stalled.
To clarify the situation, they pulled up Izuna's records.
When they saw that his Quirk was listed as Hypnosis, many of their doubts faded.
However, considering that Izuna was still a minor, the police ultimately decided to seal the files and quietly bury the incident.
During this time, several teachers from U.A. High School also came to investigate the matter. After all, Izuna had applied to the school, and they had both the right and the responsibility to understand the situation.
Of course, all of this was done discreetly.
Ding dong~
One month later, Izuna—who had grown used to living alone—suddenly heard his doorbell ring.
For a moment, he didn't even react.
After a while, he finally opened the door.
Standing outside was a familiar yet somewhat unfamiliar face—
Yaoyorozu Momo.
She was still wearing her slightly revealing red top, which showed off her figure without restraint.
"Haha, looks like I guessed correctly. You really were at home," Momo said with a smile, placing her hands behind her back.
"Madara, would you like to go to the amusement park with me?"
"An amusement park?" Izuna asked, still slightly surprised by her enthusiasm. "Right now?"
"Yes. I invited quite a few people, so it'll be lively. By the way, did you apply to U.A.?"
"I did," Izuna replied. "I've already received the notice, but the entrance exam is still a long way off."
"Your Quirk is Hypnosis, right?" Momo said thoughtfully. "U.A. places a lot of emphasis on combat ability. To be honest… I'm a little worried about your chances."
She looked slightly troubled. If Izuna failed the exam because of that, she would genuinely feel bad.
"Don't worry about it," Izuna said calmly, giving her a reassuring look.
"I'll handle the entrance exam."
Then he stepped outside and closed the door behind him.
"Didn't you say we were going to the amusement park? Let's go."
"…Okay!"
As a recommended student, Momo's future was already extremely bright. Her academic performance was always among the very best, and her intelligence was unquestionable.
Over the next eight months, Izuna met many different people through her and encountered all kinds of unusual Quirks.
During that time, Momo's parents also took special care of him. Every few days, they would invite him over to their house for dinner.
Finally—
After more than eight months of waiting—
The entrance exam for U.A. High School arrived.
Three days later, at 8:40 in the morning.
As one of the most famous schools in Japan, U.A. naturally had countless applicants.
When Izuna arrived at the front gate, the area was already crowded with teenagers.
"Ah… you're…"
Just as Izuna was about to walk through the entrance, a puzzled voice called out from behind him.
"I remember you… you were the one taken away by the sludge monster that day, right?"
"Hm?"
Hearing the voice, Izuna stopped and turned around.
Standing behind him was a boy with green hair.
"Who are you?" Izuna asked, pretending not to recognize him.
"H-hello! My name is Izuku Midoriya," the boy replied nervously. "I'm here to take the entrance exam for U.A."
"Good luck," Izuna said with a smile, lightly patting his shoulder before walking ahead.
The exam—
Was about to begin
