Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Breaking Point

My hands wouldn't stop shaking.

The message was still glowing on my screen.

"You were told to stop."

They knew.

Not just what I was doing—

But where I was.

I looked up at the old woman.

Her face had turned pale.

"You need to leave," she said urgently. "Now."

"What?" I asked, my voice unsteady.

"They're watching," she whispered. "If they know you're here, it's not safe."

A cold wave of fear rushed through me.

"Come with me," I said quickly. "You're not safe either."

She shook her head.

"No. I've lived with this fear for years," she said softly. "But you… you still have a chance."

Another buzz.

My heart dropped as I looked again.

"Last chance."

That was it.

"We have to go," I said, standing up.

But before I could take another step—

There was a loud noise outside.

A car door slammed.

Both of us froze.

"They're here…" the woman whispered.

Panic hit me instantly.

"What do we do?" I asked.

She grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the back of the house.

"Follow me."

We moved quickly through a narrow hallway.

My heart was pounding so loudly I could barely hear anything else.

Then—

A knock.

Hard.

Aggressive.

"Open the door!"

A man's voice.

Cold.

Demanding.

I felt my breath catch in my throat.

"They found us…" I whispered.

The woman didn't stop.

She opened a back door leading outside.

"Go," she said.

"What about you?" I asked.

"I'll slow them down," she replied.

"No, I'm not leaving you—"

"You have to!" she said firmly. "Your mother didn't sacrifice everything for nothing!"

Her words hit me hard.

"This is your fight now," she said. "Finish what she started."

Another loud bang echoed through the house.

The front door.

They were breaking in.

"GO!" she shouted.

I didn't think anymore.

I ran.

Out the back door.

Into the darkness.

My heart was racing.

My mind spinning.

My eyes filled with tears.

I didn't know where I was going.

I just knew I had to keep moving.

Behind me—

I heard voices.

Shouting.

Footsteps.

They were inside.

And they were looking for me.

I ran faster.

Everything was falling apart.

My family.

My past.

My truth.

Nothing was safe anymore.

But even through the fear…

Through the chaos…

One thing became clear.

This wasn't just about surviving anymore.

This was about ending it.

Exposing the truth.

For my mother.

For myself.

And for everything they tried to bury.

I slowed down for a moment, catching my breath.

Tears streamed down my face.

But my eyes…

Were no longer afraid.

They were determined.

Because now—

There was no turning back.
