Four hours from now, Angel's secret would either stay buried forever...
Or turn her into the most feared girl in the country.
The classroom buzzed with noise, but Angel heard none of it.
Not the laughter. Not the gossip and not even the lecturer speaking at front.
All she could hear was the sound of her own heartbeat. Slow, heavy and dangerous.
She sat quietly at the back of the class, staring at the ticking clock on the wall. 11:30am. Four hours left.
Then the classroom door opened. And everything changed.
Favour walked in with the confidence of someone holding another person's life in her hands.
She climbed on Angel's desk without permission. Crossing her leg elegantly as though she owned the entire room. A cold bottle rested in her hand. She took a slow sip smiling.
"You know" she said softly, "most criminals cry when they realize they're finished.
The surrounding students exchanged confused glances.
Angel slowly lifted her eyes. Favour leaned closer. " You have exactly four hours to confess before I hand the recording to the police."
Silence.
A dangerous silence. Angel stared at her for three seconds. Then she smiled. Not sweet, not shy . This smile looked wrong.
Like something broken inside her had finally stopped pretending to be human.
Favour's confidence cracked immediately.
"You... " Her throat tightened.
" You better not try anything stupid."
Angel said nothing and somehow that terrified her more than threats ever could.
Because guilty people panic. But Angel looked calm.
Like someone who had already decided what needed to be done.
Favour quickly climbed down from the desk and walked out of the classroom, refusing to look back. But her heartbeat followed her into the hallway.
Fast, uneasy, unstable cause something was wrong. The girl inside that classroom... was not the same Angel everyone thought they knew.
On her way to the principal's office, the school security officer stopped her.
"Excuse me. Are you Favour?"
"Yes "
"Your driver is here. He said there's an emergency at home."
Favour frowned immediately. "At this hour?"
"He said it's urgent" a cold chill slide down her spine.
Angel.
That smile, those eyes, no, there was no way..."
"I'll confirm first," she interrupted quickly. "If it's not my driver, i'm not leaving."
The officer nodded and escorted her towards the gate. At the security office, she signed the exit register absentmindedly, her mind racing with possibilities.
The gate opened.
Relieved washed over her instantly. It was the family SUV. Same tinted windows. Same plate number and the same driver's car. Favour exhaled instantly and approached it.
"Sir what happened?" Is everything alri...
The back window rolled down. Her voice died instantly.
Two men dressed in black stared back at her expressionlessly. One of them lifted a gun.
The two world around her stopped breathing. Fear exploded violently inside her chest. She staggered backward.
But rough hands grabbed her before she could scream. The car slammed shut. And in that moment.... Favour realized the terrifying truth.
Angel had never planned to confess. She had planned to silence her forever.
The room smelled like dust, fear and death.
Favour woke up to a chair, her wrists burning against thick ropes. A blindfold covered her eyes, but she could hear footsteps nearby.
Slow, steady and patient like predators circling wounded prey. The door creaked open.
"Take of the blindfold," a familiar voice ordered calmly. The cloth slipped away.
And Favour's blood ran cold . Angel stood directly in front of her. Still beautiful and calm. But now she looked terrifying.
The innocent scholarship girl everyone pitied was gone. The version of Angel looked like someone capable of burning bodies without losing sleep.
Beside her stood Halima, arms folded quietly against the wall.
And somewhere deeper in the shadows. Another woman watched silently. Elegant, older and dangerous.
"Angel" Favour whispered weakly. "How could you do this?"
Angel tilted her head slightly.
"No" she corrected softly. "How could you threaten me?
"I was trying to protect Mira!" At the mention of her name something dark flickered across Angel's face.
"You should have stayed out of it "
"You killed her!" Favour cried.
Angel smiled faintly. "Do you know what's funny?" She began pacing slowly around the room.
"Everyone suddenly cares about morality after blood touches the floor." Her voice remained calm, but every word felt sharp enough to cut skin.
"Where was that morality when they humiliated me?
" When they destroyed my future?" Her eyes darkened.
"When the mocked my mother?"
"Mira didn't just ruin my scholarship."
Her lips curled bitterly. "She ruined the only escape I had from poverty." The room fell silent.
Favour stared at her trembling.
"You're insane. "
Angel stopped walking. Then laughed softly, a broken laugh . The kind that came from surviving too much pain for too long.
"Crazy people hurt innocent victims," she whispered. Her gaze slowly lifted. "I only kill people who deserves it."
Suddenly, she grabbed Favour's throat violently. "I begged life to give me one reason not to kill her" Angel hissed
"Just one."
Her grip tightened. "But Mira reminded exactly why she deserved to die."
"Angel !" Halima snapped quickly pulling her back. She released slowly.
Favour collapsed forward, coughing desperately while tears streamed down her face."
Then Angel spoke again. Coldly.
" You want to know what really happened?"
"Her eyes became distant . "Fine."
FLASHBACK
The restroom had been silent that afternoon. Too silent.
Mira stood by the sink fixing her makeup when the door creaked open behind her.
Angel entered quietly and locked the door behind. And slipped the dagger beneath her uniform.
Outside the restroom, hidden near the entrance door, Favour secretly recorded everything with shaking hands.
Inside.
Mira smirked through the mirror.
"So what now? She mocked.
"You think you can scare me?
Angel's hands trembled slightly. Not because of fear but from rage. "Because of you," she whispered, "I lost my scholarship."
Mira rolled her eyes carelessly. "Oh please, you were never good enough to begin with." Something inside Angel shattered completely.
Mira noticed the bottle in her hand and laughed.
"What? You bought me my favorite drink? That's pathetic.
Angel slowly raised the dagger. Mira froze instantly. All the arrogance disappeared from her face.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!
"Drink it"
Mira stepped backward, panic flooding her expression.
"Angel..... wait....we can talk about this."
Angel moved closer, slowly, terrifyingly and calm.
"I didn't know almighty Mira knew how to beg."
Mira pointed toward the security camera desperately. "They'll catch you."
Angel smiled faintly. "I already handled that."
Then her voice dropped lower. Colder.
"Drink it or i'll carve your face open." Tears instantly filled Mira's eyes.
Her hands shook violently as she grabbed the bottle. She kept glancing towards the door. Hoping, praying and waiting for someone to save her.
But no one came. "Angel stepped closer.
"Drink." Mira obeyed.
Minutes later, she collapsed on the floor crying in agony. Her body trembled violently. Tears streamed down her face as she clutched her stomach desperately.
"You...won..." She whispered weakly.
Then silence, complete silence filled the restroom.
She stared at the lifeless body. Breathing heavily.
Her chest rose slowly. Then she crouched beside Mira's corpse and whispered.
"I know "
BACK TO PRESENT.
Favours entire body shook uncontrollably. "You killed her..." Angel remained silent.
For a moment, only the sound of Favour crying filled the room. "Please.... she begged weakly. "I swear, I won't tell anyone."
The mysterious woman finally stepped out of the shadows. Her heels echoed softly across the floor. She placed a knife gently on the floor before Favour.
"Then prove it."
She stared at the blade in horror.
"You'll swear," the woman said calmly, "that everything you saw dies with you."
"I...I swear..."
"Louder "
I SWEAR"
Angel leaned closer slowly their faces were inches apart. Her voice became ice.
"If you betray me..." A faint smile touched her lips.
"You won't survive long enough to regret it."
Favour nodded rapidly through tears.
The mysterious woman turned toward the men standing nearby. "Take her away." The door opened she screamed as they dragged her out of the room.
Then silence returned once again. Halima stared at Angel carefully. " You've changed."
Angel sat down slowly, her expression unreadable.
"No" she whispered quietly.
"I just got tired of being weak."
The room fell silent. Then she reached for her phone. Dialed a number.
The line rang twice.
Then a male voice answered. "Hello?"
A dangerous smile slowly spread across Angel's lips.
" I have a job for you." Her eyes darkened completely.
Because this time..... she wasn't planning revenge anymore. She was starting war.
