"So itchy!"
"My whole body itches!"
By the time Fenris realized what was happening, he discovered that his body had already begun slipping out of his control.
The muscles and skin across his entire body churned wildly. A skin-crawling hiss poured into his ears, accompanied by an intense tingling itch. In the span of a single instant, Fenris transformed against his will for the first time in his life. His body expanded rapidly, shifting into his Godzilla form.
"Roar!"
He had only just absorbed the energy of an entire artificial sun not long ago, yet his imposing, majestic bearing vanished in the blink of an eye.
Fenris's massive body crashed to the ground, writhing nonstop as painful growls escaped his mouth.
"This..."
The bizarre scene left even the Ancient One at a loss for a moment.
Watching Fenris struggle on the ground, the Ancient One abruptly reached out and pressed her hand against him.
"Fenris's body is absorbing the power of the hell dimension on its own?"
The Ancient One was immediately startled.
With a brief probe, she discovered that the power of the surrounding hell dimension had begun rushing madly into Fenris's body.
Meanwhile, the cells inside Fenris were displaying a terrifying devouring force at this moment. They began swallowing that energy like a whale taking in the sea, trying to fully absorb and control it.
Originally, this should have been a good thing for Fenris.
The problem was that Fenris's body had been deeply influenced by the power of the Dark Dimension. It had even already begun evolving in a certain direction.
While that evolution was still incomplete, he had encountered another power of an entirely different nature, yet one just as powerful. When both appeared inside Fenris's body at the same time, conflict became inevitable.
The purple light beneath Fenris's skin seemed to have suffered some sort of provocation. Brilliant radiance shot into the sky, nearly lighting up half the clouds overhead.
At the same time, the black energy formed from the power of the hell dimension desperately drilled into Fenris's body. Wherever the black light passed, Fenris's already sharp claws quietly changed, becoming incomparably savage and terrifying.
Combined with the faint black mist now shrouding his skin, the sight was enough to make anyone's scalp crawl at a glance.
The clash between the two powers easily tore apart Fenris's now incomparably tough body. Fortunately, in the next instant, his body began healing and repairing itself at high speed.
Amid that frenzy of destruction and rebirth, Fenris's consciousness finally returned.
"My body is going to be torn apart..."
Fenris clearly sensed the changes happening inside him. Amid the tearing pain, Fenris forced himself to draw in a breath. After a low roar, he forcibly pulled himself out of his Godzilla form.
"Fenris, how are you?"
Because Fenris's body was currently maintaining an extremely fragile balance inside, the Ancient One did not dare act recklessly. All she could do was continuously help stabilize the conflicting powers within him.
Seeing that he had finally reacted, the Ancient One hurriedly asked, "How can I help you?"
"Take me away."
Fenris's face was now covered in all kinds of horrifying cracks. He turned his eyes with difficulty and forced out the words with everything he had.
"Away?"
The Ancient One looked at Fenris, who barely resembled a human anymore.
His current strength was already insufficient to endure two powerful dimensional forces. If he left now, that fragile balance would break, and Fenris would be torn apart on the spot.
But seeing Fenris in such agony, the Ancient One frowned. The next moment, the two of them appeared directly in Kamar-Taj.
Sure enough, after leaving the hell dimension, the purple light across Fenris's body flared brilliantly. In the blink of an eye, it occupied most of his body.
The black glow representing the power of the hell dimension remained on the surface of his skin, as well as over his hands and feet.
Under the imbalance of energy, the cracks across Fenris's body immediately began expanding uncontrollably, as if they were about to tear him apart completely.
"Hah! Hah!"
Fenris gasped for breath.
"How could something like this happen?"
The Ancient One frowned.
Long ago, she had already lost the ability to observe Fenris's future through the Eye of Agamotto. But she had never expected Fenris's body to react so violently inside the hell dimension.
Looking at Fenris, who was now barely clinging to life, the Ancient One gritted her teeth and reached out, taking out the Eye of Agamotto and placing it around her neck.
Green light flickered. Just as she was about to cast a spell, a pair of broken hands suddenly stopped her.
"Don't."
Fenris seemed to have recovered a faint trace of awareness. He opened his eyes slightly and pointed with difficulty toward his abdomen.
"What?"
The Ancient One paused, not understanding what Fenris was trying to say.
Only after seeing the direction of Fenris's finger did she put away the Eye of Agamotto and tentatively reach her right hand toward Fenris's abdomen.
The next moment, a magnificent seven-colored light suddenly shone from the Ancient One's hand without warning.
She felt her hand sink. A wave of warmth spread over her, and a spherical object about thirty centimeters in diameter gently fell into her palm.
"Is this... an egg?"
As the rainbow light slowly faded, the Ancient One saw an egg dyed in seven colors.
"If I can't make it through..."
"Protect him."
Pain as intense as a tidal wave swept through Fenris's whole body, battering his consciousness until it blurred.
By now, even the Ancient One had become incomparably indistinct in his eyes.
After using the last of his strength to say those words, Fenris could no longer hold on. He felt his eyelids suddenly become unbearably heavy. The next instant, his eyes closed, and he completely lost consciousness.
"Sigh..."
"How did it come to this?"
Watching Fenris's breathing grow fainter and fainter, the Ancient One frowned deeply.
The black and purple forces were still fighting endlessly, using Fenris's body as their battlefield. Fenris's body was torn apart over and over, then slowly healed itself through its powerful restorative ability.
The Ancient One silently held that beautiful seven-colored egg, but her eyes remained fixed on Fenris's condition without blinking.
Under the shroud of two-colored light, Fenris's body would sometimes split open with massive wounds, then return to normal. The cycle repeated again and again.
Fortunately, after being tempered at the core of the fusion reaction, Fenris's adaptability and regenerative ability now far exceeded the Ancient One's imagination.
Several days passed. With the Ancient One stabilizing his energy day and night, the mutations in Fenris's body gradually settled down.
Only then did the Ancient One finally let out a full breath of relief, and the worry that had first gripped her began to fade.
The sun rose and the moon set. The stars shifted across the sky.
As time passed, those two completely different dimensional forces still did not weaken much. Instead, their struggle became increasingly fierce.
Strangely, however, Fenris's body had already fully adapted to their presence over the long process.
The conflict between them no longer caused any damage. Instead, without anyone realizing it, Fenris's body had completely accepted them, turning them into nourishment for his evolution.
