Tony's pupils shrank slightly.
A five-star Heaven-blessed individual.
Not just rare.. But terrifying.
Such individuals weren't simply talented. They were chosen. Protected. Destined to rise above countless others. Even fate itself seemed to bend in their favor.
And this person was standing right in front of him.
While Tony remained locked onto the system screen, Lily Frost already reached the centre of the gathering. Her presence drew every gaze, yet her eyes rested briefly on Tony.
What she saw puzzled her.. He wasn't looking at her… Not even reacting.
'Where is he looking? I'm standing right here… and he's not even paying attention?!' For a fleeting moment, confusion crossed her calm face.
The thought was absurd.
Every man she encountered either admired her openly or struggled to maintain composure.
Yet this man… acting like he was not at all interested. And worse, hed Ignored her completely. Lily thought which frustated her unknowingly.
She walked forward regardless in a flawless composure. Stopping before Rion Clark, she bowed slightly. "Greetings, Father-in-law. I am honored to bear the Clark family name."
Her voice was soft, refined, yet clear enough to reach every corner of the hall.
Rion Clark was momentarily stunned. He had expected pride, perhaps indifference—but not humility. Especially not from someone like Lily Frost.
His expression brightened instantly. "Good, good! No need for such formalities," he said, clearly pleased.
Without hesitation, he retrieved a small treasure from his storage and handed it to her. "Take this. It will be beneficial… especially for someone of your elegance."
Lily accepted it without hesitation, her lips curving slightly. "My father-in-law is very generous."
Laughter spread through the hall, easing the tension.
Andrew Frost seized the moment immediately. "Lily, go. Sit beside your future husband."
Lily turned and walked toward Tony. As she approached, her confusion deepened.
He still hadn't reacted.
Not even when she stood right beside him. Not even when she sat down next to him.
Tony remained still, his gaze fixed somewhere distant, as if the entire gathering had ceased to exist.
The elders began exchanging subtle glances. Even Andrew Frost raised an eyebrow.
'Huhh….' A light cough from Rion Clark broke the silence.
Tony blinked… The system screen vanished. Reality hit him as everyone's eyes set on him.
And the first thing he did…
"You are really beautiful," Tony said instinctively. The words came out too directly and too suddenly.
For a brief moment, the hall froze.
Lily gave a slight nod with a confused face. "Did he even saw my face?!" Lily wondered.
Then… Andrew Frost burst into laughter.
"Ha ha ha! Good! Very good!" he said loudly. "It seems my son-in-law already likes my daughter."
He turned toward Rion Clark, patting his shoulder. "What do you think?"
Rion let out a small laugh. "Why won't he like her? She is indeed a jade beauty."
The tension dissolved instantly, replaced by light conversation. Elders began discussing the union, praising both families, their voices blending into a polite yet calculated atmosphere.
But Tony was no longer listening. He thoughts stucks about the Heaven Blessed Child. He was wondering what will be his future after marrying a heaven blessed child.
It is nothing but a walk on double edged sword.
Andrew Frost soon spoke again, this time directing his attention toward Lily. "Show our family estate to young master Tony. Take good care of him."
Lily nodded without hesitation and stood up.
She didn't look back and continued to walk forward. Tony followed.
The moment they stepped out of the hall, the noise faded.
They walked through a vast garden, where carefully cultivated herbs filled the air with a rich fragrance. The surroundings were beautiful, serene… but neither of them commented on it.
Silence stretched between them. While Lily was waiting for Tony to speak… he is completely stuck in a different world.
Tony's thoughts churned. 'A five-star Heaven-blessed…'
He couldn't ignore it. Such individuals were favored by fate itself. If she rose, she would rise uncontested. If she fell, it would be catastrophic.
'And if she turned against him?!' Tony's eyes narrowed slightly. 'That wouldn't just be a problem… That would be a disaster.'
They reached a quiet pond filled with blooming lotuses, their petals emiting a enchanging fragrance.
Lily stopped at the edge. But even then Tony filled in his own thoughts.
Then Lily coughed lightly.
Tony snapped out of his thoughts and realized where he was. Beside her… Alone.
He hesitated for a brief moment before speaking. "If you don't mind… can I ask you something?"
Lily turned toward him and stared into his eyes. "I know what you're going to ask," she said calmly. "Why I agreed to marry you. Isn't that right?"
Tony let out a small breath.
"Yes… Anyone in their right mind would question it," he said honestly. "You're like this lotus—pure, valuable, admired. And me…"
He looked directly at her. "What's the catch?"
Lily didn't react immediately. For a moment, she simply looked at the pond.
"Don't overthink it," she said finally, her voice calm and smooth. "There are no hidden schemes. No revenge. No traps. My family is not playing Trojan Horse…"
Tony frowned slightly.
"This marriage benefits my family… and ME." she said.
"How?! I think both of our families were equal in strength and wealth. If anything, you lose more than you gain by marrying a talentless person like me. You'll be mocked... Ridiculed if you tied to someone like me for a lifetime."
Lily's expression didn't change. "I don't care what everyone thinks… I have no problem in marrying you. Your talent and weakness is not a problem for me." She declared.
"Then let me ask you something clearly… If there's truly no scheme… Why are you really marrying me?" Tony asked with a serious look as he stood face to face.
