Chapter 11 - Chapter 11:Clash of Talents

The forest seemed to fall silent the moment their eyes met.

No wind.

No distant beast cries.

Even the faint rustling of leaves faded into nothing, as if the space itself had drawn back to make room for what was about to happen.

Lin Chen and Han Wei stood facing each other, separated by only a few meters.

Neither moved.

But the tension between them had already reached its peak.

Han Wei tilted his head slightly, studying Lin Chen with open interest.

Up close, the difference became clearer.

Not in appearance.

But in presence.

There was no hesitation in Lin Chen's stance. No wasted movement. No signs of uncertainty.

Just stillness.

Controlled.

Deliberate.

That alone made Han Wei's smile deepen slightly.

"You're calm," he said. "Most people aren't, when they stand in front of me."

Lin Chen didn't respond.

His gaze remained steady.

Unmoved.

Han Wei exhaled lightly, as if amused.

"Let's skip the unnecessary parts," he continued. "You know why I'm here."

A brief pause.

"Everything you've taken so far—leave it."

The words were casual.

But the intent behind them was anything but.

Lin Chen's expression didn't change.

"No."

A single word.

Flat.

Decisive.

For a moment—

Silence.

Then—

Han Wei laughed.

Not loudly.

But genuinely.

"That makes things easier."

He moved.

No warning.

No buildup.

One step—and he was already within striking distance.

Fast.

Faster than anyone Lin Chen had faced so far.

The first strike came straight for Lin Chen's upper body, clean and direct, carrying a force that was both sharp and controlled.

Lin Chen reacted instantly.

He raised his arm, shifting his stance to absorb the impact.

The moment their arms collided—

A heavy force traveled through him.

Stronger than expected.

His feet slid slightly across the ground.

Half a step back.

Han Wei didn't pause.

His second attack followed immediately, angled differently, aimed not to overpower—but to break rhythm.

Lin Chen stepped aside.

Barely avoiding it.

The movement cut close—too close.

"Too slow," Han Wei said lightly.

Lin Chen didn't answer.

He adjusted.

The next exchange came faster.

Their movements blurred as they closed distance again, strikes colliding mid-motion, blocks turning into counters within fractions of a second.

But this time—

Lin Chen was not only defending.

He was reading.

Han Wei's style was different from Chen Yu.

Less controlled.

More aggressive.

More confident.

He pressed forward continuously, chaining attacks together with fluid precision, forcing Lin Chen into a tighter defensive space.

But within that pressure—

There were patterns.

Lin Chen caught one.

A slight delay between transitions.

Barely noticeable.

But real.

He acted instantly.

Instead of retreating, he stepped forward.

Breaking the rhythm.

Han Wei's eyes flickered—just slightly.

Unexpected.

Lin Chen's counterattack followed immediately.

A straight strike toward the center.

Clean.

Direct.

Han Wei blocked.

But the impact still forced him to adjust his footing.

A small shift.

But enough.

The balance moved.

Han Wei's smile faded slightly.

"Not bad."

This time—

He increased his speed.

The difference was immediate.

The pressure doubled.

His attacks became sharper, faster, more unpredictable. The earlier patterns vanished, replaced by a more chaotic, aggressive rhythm designed to overwhelm.

Lin Chen's defense tightened.

But even so—

A strike slipped through.

Then another.

Pain spread.

Sharp.

Real.

His shoulder took a hit.

His ribs felt the impact.

For the first time in this fight—

He was being pushed back.

Han Wei stepped forward again, closing the distance relentlessly.

"This is the difference," he said calmly. "You caught up too quickly… but you don't have the foundation."

Another strike came.

Faster.

Heavier.

Lin Chen blocked—

But the force broke through part of his guard, driving him back two full steps.

The ground beneath his feet cracked slightly.

Silence.

Heavy.

From a distance, a few figures had already begun to gather.

Drawn by the intensity.

They didn't approach too closely.

But they watched.

Because they understood—

This was not a normal fight.

Inside the clearing, Lin Chen steadied himself.

His breathing deepened slightly.

But his eyes—

Remained calm.

Because he could feel it.

The same thing as before.

Pressure.

Limit.

Edge.

And beyond it—

Growth.

Han Wei noticed.

"You're doing it again," he said.

Lin Chen didn't deny it.

Instead—

He stepped forward.

Not retreating.

Not defending.

Advancing.

The next exchange collided head-on.

Impact.

This time—

Lin Chen didn't move.

Han Wei's expression changed slightly.

Because the force—

Was matched.

And in the next instant—

Lin Chen attacked.

Faster.

Sharper.

More direct.

His movements carried a new weight now, more stable, more controlled, each strike building into the next with increasing pressure.

Han Wei blocked.

Countered.

Adjusted.

But this time—

He was no longer advancing.

He was holding.

The balance—

Had shifted again.

A flicker of seriousness appeared in Han Wei's eyes.

"Good."

The word was quiet.

But clear.

Then—

His aura changed.

Subtly.

But completely.

The pressure around him condensed.

His stance lowered slightly.

His movements tightened.

No more testing.

No more playing.

This time—

He was serious.

Lin Chen felt it instantly.

This was different.

This was the real Han Wei.

And yet—

Instead of tension—

A faint smile appeared on Lin Chen's lips.

Because this—

Was exactly what he wanted.
