The mission to the Moon began under urgency.
Time was no longer a luxury. With Megatron in possession of the AllSpark and already beyond Earth's reach, the Autobots needed an advantage something powerful enough to shift the balance of the war. The answer lay hidden in humanity's past, buried beneath decades of secrecy and silence.
The Ark.
A Cybertronian vessel discovered during the early Apollo missions, concealed beneath the lunar surface and known only to a handful of world leaders. Now, for the first time, that secret was being brought into the open.
A heavily modified rocket, built through a joint effort between human engineers and Autobot technology, launched from Earth's surface and cut through the atmosphere. Inside its reinforced cargo hold stood Optimus Prime, Ironhide, and Ratchet, secured in place as the vessel accelerated toward the Moon.
No one spoke during the journey.
Each of them understood the importance of what they were about to do.
If Sentinel Prime still lived…
Everything could change.
The rocket descended onto the lunar surface in a plume of gray dust.
Moments later, the cargo bay opened.
The Autobots stepped out onto the Moon, their massive frames pressing into the fine regolith as they turned toward the excavation site ahead. Human astronauts guided them toward the partially unearthed structure that stretched across the crater like a fallen monument.
The Ark.
Even in its damaged state, the ship's scale was immense. Sections of its hull had collapsed inward, while others still stood intact, silent and frozen in time. The scars of an ancient battle were visible across its surface.
Optimus moved forward first.
"We proceed."
Inside, the Ark was a graveyard.
Dim lights flickered along the corridors, powered by systems that had refused to fully die. Fallen Autobots lay where they had last stood, their bodies lifeless, their sparks long extinguished.
Ironhide slowed slightly as he looked around.
"This place hasn't changed," he muttered.
Ratchet scanned the environment.
"Minimal energy signatures… but something remains active deeper within."
They followed the readings through shattered hallways until they reached the command chamber.
There, at the center of the room, stood a stasis pod.
Inside it rested a towering figure, his armor more elaborate than any Autobot present. Though damaged and inactive, there was no mistaking his identity.
Ratchet stepped forward.
"…Sentinel Prime."
Optimus stood silently for a moment before speaking.
"We bring him home."
Nearby, several tall metallic structures lay scattered across the chamber floor.
The astronauts approached them cautiously.
"These must be the pillars," one of them said.
Ratchet nodded.
"Components of a space bridge."
Ironhide crossed his arms.
"Then we take them too."
The return to Earth was swift.
Within hours, the Autobots and their cargo were transported to a secured military installation. The stasis pod containing Sentinel Prime was carefully moved into a large containment chamber, surrounded by human scientists and military personnel observing from a safe distance.
Optimus stepped forward.
In his hand, the Matrix of Leadership began to glow.
"This will restore him," he said.
Ratchet monitored the readings closely.
"His systems are barely functional. This is his only chance."
Optimus placed the Matrix into Sentinel Prime's chest.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then
Energy surged outward.
A wave of golden light spread through Sentinel's body as ancient systems reactivated. Sparks of power raced across his frame as his optics suddenly ignited with a bright blue glow.
Sentinel Prime took a sharp breath as his systems fully rebooted.
"…Optimus?"
Optimus stepped forward.
"Welcome back, Sentinel."
The older Prime slowly rose from the platform, his movements stiff at first before stabilizing. He looked around at the unfamiliar environment, processing everything in silence.
Then his expression hardened.
"The pillars," Sentinel said immediately. "Where are they?"
Ironhide gestured toward the secured containers nearby.
"We brought them back with you."
Sentinel nodded once before turning back to Optimus.
"The war," he said. "Tell me everything."
Optimus did not hesitate.
"Cybertron has fallen," he said. "The war followed us to Earth."
Sentinel remained silent.
"Megatron lives," Optimus continued. "And he now possesses the AllSpark."
That caught Sentinel's full attention.
"The AllSpark…" he repeated.
Optimus nodded.
"He has taken it to Cybertron."
For a moment, Sentinel said nothing.
Then, slowly, he turned toward the pillars.
"I see."
He stepped forward.
"Then we no longer have the luxury of fighting blindly."
Before anyone could question him, Sentinel raised his hand.
Energy surged outward.
The pillars responded instantly.
One by one, they lifted into the air, drawn toward him as if pulled by an invisible force.
"What is he doing?" one of the human officers asked.
Ratchet's optics narrowed.
"Activating them."
Sentinel brought the pillars together, arranging them in a precise formation.
"They were never meant for small-scale transport," Sentinel said calmly. "Their true purpose is far greater."
Optimus watched carefully.
"Sentinel…"
But it was already too late.
The pillars activated.
A massive vortex of energy erupted into the sky, tearing open a portal above Earth.
The space bridge.
On the other side of the swirling rift, a massive shape began to emerge.
The sky darkened.
Clouds twisted violently as something enormous pushed through the portal.
Piece by piece, Cybertron appeared above Earth.
The broken planet hung in the sky like a second world, its massive structure looming over the atmosphere.
Shockwaves spread across the globe.
Human command centers erupted into chaos.
"What is that?!"
"Is that a planet?!"
Governments scrambled to respond, but there was nothing they could do. Their understanding of Cybertronian technology was still too limited, and the scale of what was happening far exceeded anything they could counter.
Inside the facility, Optimus turned toward Sentinel.
"What have you done?"
Sentinel's expression remained calm.
"I am ending the war."
Optimus stepped forward.
"By bringing Cybertron here?"
Sentinel looked toward the sky.
"By creating an opportunity."
He turned back to Optimus.
"Megatron has the AllSpark."
"Yes," Optimus said.
"Then he holds the future of our species," Sentinel replied. "And that makes him… negotiable."
Ironhide stepped forward.
"You're talking about making a deal with him?"
Sentinel did not deny it.
"If it ensures the survival of our kind… yes."
Optimus stared at him.
"That is not the Autobot way."
Sentinel's voice hardened.
"The Autobot way has brought us to extinction."
Silence filled the room.
Far above Earth, the space bridge continued to glow as Cybertron fully emerged into orbit.
On the surface of Cybertron, Megatron stood atop a towering structure, his crimson optics fixed on the sky.
A massive distortion had appeared in space.
A familiar energy signature.
The space bridge.
Megatron watched as the portal expanded.
Then slowly…
Cybertron itself began to shift.
Drawn toward Earth.
Jake narrowed his optics slightly.
"So…"
"…Sentinel Prime."
A faint smirk formed.
"You're making your move."
Megatron turned toward Soundwave.
"Prepare the fleet."
Soundwave responded instantly.
"As you command."
Megatron looked back toward the forming bridge.
"I'll be waiting."
