Chapter 100 - God save the King (5)

From the abyss, a singular humanoid figure appeared. A man with thick but combed blonde hair that were paired with his bright golden eyes. Like a fallen angel, dark wings protruded from his back and were twice the size of his own body. He wore a black three-piece suit with red accents with mismatched buttons, an open collar with a red-striped black tie coiled around it, a white over coat hanging over his shoulders that disrupted the entire outfit.

His presence – an immense, massive dark aura that covered the sky and made it tremble; he scanned the area with a soul-piercing gaze. The noble demon put down his barrier and they all together stood beside the prince on either side.

"My lord." The noble demon courted a bow.

The prince didn't flinch – didn't react. Without moving his gaze, he asked in a cold voice.

"How much time had passed since we switched with greed?"

The noble demon straightened. "Four days in earth time."

Th prince nodded, then locked onto Nyx.

'Is she an eminence…? Or an avatar?'

Then, his gaze landed on Arthur. He clicked his tongue, annoyed.

"Have you even not been able to kill the weaklings?"

The naked demon lowered his head.

"Forgive me. I went easy too easy on him."

"Do you think forgiveness comes so easily, barbarian?" The prince echoed in a raspy voice.

Without lifting a finger, he choked the demon with a strange power. The demon didn't try to resist – he knew what would happen if he did. After a few minutes, the prince let him go. The demon gasped for air before stepping behind. The prince then, sighed and adjusted his over coat.

"I didn't think Pangea's people would come so willingly to become our prey every time."

He raised a finger, pointing it at Nyx. "State your name."

Nyx froze, before she could even think what to say her mouth opened on its own – impulsively.

"Nyx…Roosevelt…"

The prince covered his mouth. "The Roosevelts…I see."

Then, he looked at the now broken Arthur who was staring at him with a frowning face.

"You too." He urged, coldly.

Arthur furrowed his brows, his head boiling in a sea of rage.

'Because of him…because of him…"

His lips parted as he replied to the prince's question in a raspy tone.

"Arthur von Ashking."

The prince froze and chuckled lightly. Then, he began laughing manically as if he had remembered. After laughing, he smiled and declared in a loud tone.

"Ashking? Ashking?! I have a long - long history with you..."

Arthur frowned once again.

'What the hell does he mean…?'

The prince heaved a sigh and drew a deep breath. He pulled out a hand from his pocket and slightly raised his finger.

"Playtime is over."

From the ruins of the massacre, a single burnt butterfly flew out. It landed on the prince's finger as time began to slow down. He whispered something unfathomable to the butterfly which healed it instantly. Then, as it flew away, it left afterimages from the prince's finger like film tape. It flew across the camp like an angel dancing in the sky, it wings fluttering like a symphony.

Then...all hell broke loose.

In the distance, the sky tore open as a tornado rippled through the earth. One, two three, no…four tornadoes erupted in the distance with a simple whisper. The ground shook beneath the prince's might, the sky bent, and the sea danced to his rhythm. Nyx blinked, her instincts screaming at her to run and she obeyed.

She turned around as the prince slowly began moving towards the camp. She grabbed Arthur by his chest while carrying the super-laptop and diary. In the ruins of the battlegrounds, she saw a man lying near a dead body – Kay. He was still alive - barely that is. She didn't hesitate as multiple chaos fragments tore through the fabric of reality. She picked up Kay using her darkness and prepared to escape.

"Dante…Only Dante…" She whispered to herself, almost like a prayer.

In the midst of all of this chaos, Arthur only had one thing on his mind – to kill the prince and the demon who killed Maple. As his rage peaked, boiling to an immeasurable degree, he didn't scream. He whispered someone while laughing softly.

"God save the king…because no one else will."

He pointed his fingers at the prince and activated his attribute one final time. Then his eyes rolled back, and he went limp in Nyx's arms. As his nose continued to bleed, Nyx dove into the shadows nearby. The prince raised a brow. A massive star appeared above his head, lighting up the surroundings to an extreme degree. The star contracted inward, preparing to detonate into a Supernova that would certainly destroy the planet.

But in the next instant, it vanished. The star was gone – no explosion, no flames, no light and certainly no supernova. The prince waved his hand as smoke came out from it.

"What an inconvenience." He stated. "That man has totally lost it."

Fortress Bragg

In the outer wall, adventurers were arriving on the training grounds. They stretched their limbs and prepared for their training sessions. The guards atop the walls slowly switched from night to day patrol. Just as the adventurers were about to begin, a massive burst of chaos suddenly appeared in the outer wall. They were alerted almost instantly, waiting for something to happen.

"What the hell was that?" A man asked.

But his question would soon be answered. From the shadows three figures appeared. The adventurers activated their attributes preparing to attack. But then, the figures fell onto the ground – not moving or doing anything. The air froze as the adventurers waited for them to wake up but didn.t

"Wait…is that…Nyx?" One blurted.

Time suddenly, began moving as they realized the supreme commander of the UEOC was in front of them. Realizing they weren't a threat, they adventurers rushed towards them checking them.

Nyx, Arthur and Kay – all of the them unconscious.

One man gritted his teeth and shouted at the rest.

"What are you guys doing?! Get them to the hospital now!"

The adventurers nodded and picked them up by the shoulder, carrying them the hospital. After a while, in the middle wall, all three were transferred into fortress Bragg's hospital. The adventurers sighed and stood outside the hospital. Right then, the guild master appeared.

"I heard the supreme commander was found unconscious! Where is she?"

One adventurer replied. "They're in the emergency ward, sir."

The guild master gritted his teeth. "Any others?"

"Yes, the lieutenant general of the AEOC and another enforcer who we don't know yet."

The master raised a brow. "What about the rest of them?"

The adventurer smacked his lips together as the air became very awkward.

"…I don't know. They're the only ones we found." The adventurer stated.
