Chapter 75 - We will not hate you

The guild hall remained heavy with emotion after Feng finished his story.

He looked around at the adventurers and the Guild Master, his voice calm but direct.

"There were five heroes. I killed one of them. Are you all going to hate me for that?"

A moment of silence passed.

Then the Guild Master shook his head firmly. Several adventurers spoke up at once.

"No," the Guild Master said clearly. "We will not hate you. What you did was justice for the innocent lives they threw away. The Goddess's 'heroes' disgraced their own blessings that day."

Many others nodded in agreement, their earlier suspicion replaced by quiet respect and shared anger toward the Dragon Kingdom.

Feng gave a small nod of thanks. He then changed the subject, his tone practical once again.

"I am getting low on money. Does the guild buy materials or rare ores?"

The Guild Master nodded. "We do. We purchase high-quality materials for crafting and research."

Without a word, Feng reached into his Storage Bag and pulled out two pieces of ore — one shimmering bar of pure Mithril and one dark, heavy chunk of pure Adamantite. He placed them gently on the reception counter.

The entire hall went dead silent.

Every adventurer stared with wide eyes. Some gasped. The young receptionist froze mid-breath. Even the Guild Master, an elegant and experienced elf, looked genuinely stunned.

The Guild Master picked up the Adamantite first, turning it slowly in his hands. His voice was hushed with awe.

"…Where did you get these? …No, you don't need to answer that." He looked at both pieces carefully, then back at Feng. "This is not normal Mithril or Adamantite. The purity is extraordinary — far beyond anything we usually see. These are treasures that could fund an entire guild branch for years."

He set the ores down carefully and looked at Feng with new seriousness.

"Are you truly willing to sell these to us?"

Feng nodded once. "Yes."

The Guild Master exhaled slowly. "These are worth a fortune. Right now, we do not have enough liquid coin on hand to pay you fairly. Please come back tomorrow at noon. I will have the proper amount ready."

Feng agreed without argument. "I will return tomorrow at noon."

By then the sun was already setting, and the sky outside had turned deep orange. Feng said his goodbyes and left the guild, walking back through the peaceful streets of the Holy Kingdom toward The Healing Lantern inn.

When he entered the inn, Lina and Suki were waiting for him in the dining area. Lina's belly was noticeably round, and she smiled warmly when she saw him. Suki ran over and hugged his leg happily.

They sat down together for dinner — simple but warm food prepared by the innkeeper's family. They chatted quietly about their day: Suki proudly told him how she helped serve tables, Lina spoke softly about how the baby had been kicking more, and Feng mentioned that he had registered at the guild and would receive payment tomorrow.

After dinner, they went upstairs to their room. Suki quickly fell asleep in her small bed. Feng and Lina lay down together on theirs. Lina rested her head on his shoulder, one hand gently on her belly, while Feng wrapped an arm around her.

The room was quiet and peaceful, the lantern light soft.

They fell asleep like that — a small, makeshift family beginning to heal in a new land under the protection of the God of Healing.
