Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Rewriting the Ending

The threads began to glow.

Not violently…

But steadily.

As if they were responding—

Not to power…

But to intent.

Asad stood at the center.

Leon beside him.

Both surrounded by countless lines of existence.

"…So this is it."

Leon said quietly.

Asad nodded.

"…Yeah."

A pause.

"…From here on…"

"…every choice matters."

Leon took a deep breath.

"…Then tell me what to do."

Asad looked at the threads.

Then slowly raised his hand.

"…First…"

"…we stabilize the story."

One thread moved forward.

It showed a glimpse—

The world they left behind.

Broken.

Collapsed.

On the edge of disappearance.

Leon clenched his fists.

"…Can we save it?"

Asad answered honestly.

"…Not completely."

A pause.

"…But we can preserve it."

Leon looked at him.

"…Preserve…?"

Asad nodded.

"…Turn it into a stable ending."

"…Instead of a reset."

The threads shimmered.

Reacting.

Leon stepped forward.

"…Then do it."

Asad didn't move.

"…Not alone."

He looked at Leon.

"…You're part of this now."

Leon hesitated.

"…I don't know how to use this…"

Asad smirked slightly.

"…You don't need to."

A pause.

"…Just decide what you want to protect."

Silence.

Leon closed his eyes.

Faces flashed in his mind.

Memories.

The world.

The battles.

The pain.

"…I want…"

A pause.

"…everything that was real…"

"…to stay."

The threads reacted instantly.

They glowed brighter.

Asad smiled faintly.

"…Good choice."

He raised his hand—

And pulled the threads together.

Slowly.

Carefully.

The broken world began to reform—

Not fully restored…

But stabilized.

No longer collapsing.

Leon opened his eyes.

"…It's working…"

Asad nodded.

"…Yeah."

A pause.

"…Now comes the hard part."

The threads shifted again.

This time—

They surrounded Asad.

Tightly.

Leon noticed immediately.

"…Wait…"

"…Why are they reacting to you like that?"

Asad didn't answer at first.

Then—

"…Because I'm the anchor."

Leon froze.

"…Meaning…?"

Asad looked at him.

Calm.

"…The story needs one final piece…"

A pause.

"…A conclusion."

The threads tightened.

Slowly pulling toward Asad.

Leon's eyes widened.

"…No…"

"…This is the part you disappear, right?"

Asad smiled faintly.

"…Yeah."

Leon stepped forward instantly.

"…Then stop it!"

Asad shook his head.

"…We're too far in now."

The threads pulled stronger.

Light surrounded Asad's body.

Leon grabbed his arm.

"…I'm not letting you go!"

Asad looked at him.

For a moment—

Silence.

Then—

"…You said you'd find another ending."

Leon's grip tightened.

"…Yeah… and I will!"

The threads trembled.

Reacting.

Asad noticed.

"…Huh…"

"…It's responding to you."

Leon didn't let go.

"…Then I'll force it to change!"

Energy surged from him—

Light and darkness—

Perfectly balanced.

The threads reacted violently.

For the first time—

They hesitated.

Asad's eyes widened slightly.

"…You're actually interfering…"

Leon gritted his teeth.

"…I told you…"

"…I'm not following your script!"

The space shook.

The threads loosened slightly.

Not enough—

But not absolute anymore.

Asad looked at him—

This time…

Not as a writer.

But as a partner.

"…Leon…"

A pause.

"…You might actually pull this off."

Leon smirked slightly.

"…Of course I will."

The threads resisted again—

Trying to complete the ending.

But now—

There was interference.

Two forces.

Two wills.

Clashing.

Asad raised his hand again—

Not to accept the ending—

But to fight it.

"…Then let's rewrite it together."

The threads exploded into motion.

Reality shifted.

The ending—

Was no longer fixed.
