Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Creating the Territory World

All the students hurried on their way.

Zhao Chi also left the academy quickly.

He crossed the semi-modern streets, overtaking carriages and mechanical vehicles, passing by shopping centers and banks, weapon shops and mercenary outposts, before turning onto a small path.

Without stopping, he headed straight home.

Zhao Chi's home was a small wooden house on the edge of a suburban village.

Two years ago, Magical Beasts invaded.

Zhao Chi's family met with disaster; his parents were killed, and he himself was gravely injured.

Their original house was also destroyed.

Later, with the help of the Clan Leader, this small wooden house was rebuilt.

It gave the "surviving" Zhao Chi a place to live.

It wasn't large, but it was enough to shelter him.

It was also at that time that Zhao Chi had transmigrated here.

He was a complete stranger to this world.

But in order to survive, he had to cram as much knowledge as he could.

After all, he was a modern person.

It was inevitable that he would act strangely at times.

He used the excuse that he had suffered a severe head injury to get by.

No one minded his odd behavior.

After all, he didn't cause trouble for anyone, and no one could be bothered with him.

In class, however, he often failed tests on common sense questions.

This also caused him to be frequently looked down upon.

Zhao Chi closed the wooden door.

The cabin's furnishings were simple.

A single wooden bed, a wooden table, and a wooden chair.

There was also a wardrobe and a bedside table.

Other than a few changes of clothes and some food, there was nothing else.

The furniture was all discarded items that Zhao Chi had salvaged.

He was already at rock bottom, so he couldn't care less what others thought of him.

Zhao Chi sat directly on the floor.

He gently took out the World Stone.

It was an irregularly shaped sphere the size of a watermelon.

Its edges were sharp, making it a bit prickly to hold.

But Zhao Chi couldn't bear to part with it.

He gently tapped "Use."

The system prompt popped up:

[Activate the World Stone?]

Zhao Chi took a deep breath.

He tapped [Yes].

Instantly, the World Stone erupted in a kaleidoscope of colors.

It lit up the small wooden house like a nightclub.

The light scattered, then gently flowed into Zhao Chi's body.

A system prompt appeared:

[Generating Territory World...]

[Please set initial conditions.]

[1. Please select a climate.]

[1. Tropical Zone: Higher temperature. Plant growth speed +20%, mineral generation speed -20%.]

[2. Temperate Zone: Balanced temperature. Plant growth speed and mineral generation speed are balanced.]

[3. Cold Zone: Lower temperature. Plant growth speed -20%, mineral generation speed +20%.]

Zhao Chi had learned about this in the academy.

The [Tropical Zone] was like spring all year round, with no winter.

Plants could grow throughout the year.

Plus, with a 20% growth bonus, it was perfect for farming.

It was also suitable for certain races that preferred hot climates.

For example: Fire Elves and Centaurs.

But the disadvantage was the hot weather.

One's body would often feel sticky, and training would leave you drenched in sweat.

Food also spoiled easily.

Diseases and insects were rampant.

And the mineral regeneration speed was slower.

The [Temperate Zone] was very average.

You could also say it had no special features.

It had all four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

Plants couldn't grow in the winter.

Plant growth speed was normal, and so was mineral generation speed.

Most races could live in the temperate zone.

It was the most accommodating zone.

The [Cold Zone] had a very long winter.

There would be a brief summer.

It was very unfriendly for growing plants.

But its mineral regeneration speed was very fast.

It was suitable for industrial production.

Furthermore, there were fewer insects, and diseases spread very slowly.

It was suitable for certain races that preferred cold climates.

For example: Ice Elves and the Snow Ape Race.

Zhao Chi hesitated for a moment.

'To be honest, the Tropical and Cold Zones are both very powerful, perfect for a Lord who wants to specialize in a certain field.'

'But I'm more inclined toward the Temperate Zone. After all, it allows for well-rounded development.'

'Plus, most races can live here.'

'It has no weaknesses.'

'I'll choose [Temperate Zone], then.'

'Wait!'

The three options were actually glowing with a golden light.

[The current options meet the conditions for "Transplantation." Transfer information?]

'Transplantation can be used here too?'

It was hard to believe.

But the proof was right in front of him.

His heart pounding with excitement, Zhao Chi immediately chose to transfer.

He transferred all the advantageous attributes from the Tropical Zone and the Cold Zone to the Temperate Zone.

In the end, the Temperate Zone's attributes became:

[Temperate Zone: Balanced temperature. Plant growth speed +20%, mineral generation speed +20%.]

'Both plant growth speed and mineral generation speed are increased by 20%!'

Zhao Chi immediately chose [Temperate Zone].

The World Stone glowed again.

System Prompt:

[2. Please select a Terrain.]

[1. Plains: Potential farmland +80%, mineral reserves -80%.]

[2. Hills: Potential farmland and mineral reserves are balanced.]

[3. Mountains: Potential farmland -80%, mineral reserves +80%.]

This choice was also important.

The [Plains] were wide and open.

There was a large amount of arable land.

There were also small amounts of saline-alkali soil and gravelly land that couldn't be farmed.

Plains were the first choice for farming.

However, there were few minerals.

And they were difficult to defend.

If invaded, it was easy for the enemy to reach one's doorstep quickly.

But it was very convenient for trade.

After all, the terrain was flat, making it easy for all types of vehicles to pass through.

It was also easy to construct various types of buildings.

Such as city walls and defense towers.

The [Hills] were also relatively balanced.

There were small hills and flatlands.

You could farm and mine.

There were no outstanding advantages, but also no major disadvantages.

In terms of defense, you could use the terrain to your advantage.

Very average, very unremarkable.

The [Mountains] were a rolling landscape of peaks.

A mountain terrain wasn't entirely mountains.

There was also some flat land for planting.

It was just relatively scarce.

But there were a lot of minerals.

Furthermore, it was easy to defend but hard to attack.

The pressure on the defender was minimal.

After looking over the three options, Zhao Chi tapped on them lightly.

Transplantation activated again.

[The current options meet the conditions for "Transplantation." Transfer information?]

'Of course I'll transfer!'

'This time, the target is Plains.'

'Although the Plains have the worst Defense Power, their development speed is the fastest.'

Soon, the attribute transfer was complete.

[Plains: Potential farmland +80%, mineral reserves +80%.]

Zhao Chi smiled and chose [Plains].

The World Stone glowed once more.

The next option appeared.

System Prompt:

[3. Please select a landform.]

[1. Sandy Land: Land quality -30%, mineral quality +30%.]

[2. Loam: Land quality and mineral quality are balanced.]

[3. Grassland: Land quality +30%, mineral quality -30%.]

These three options were each different.

[Sandy Land] wasn't a desert.

You could grow crops and plant trees on it.

It just had poor land quality.

Crop yields were low.

However, the mineral quality was higher.

There was a small chance of mining precious minerals like gemstones, gold, and silver.

Most importantly, the minerals within a territory could slowly regenerate.

These precious minerals would also regenerate along with them.

So, Lords who chose Sandy Land could basically make a living by selling gemstones and various other minerals.

They could even live quite well.

[Loam] was also the most balanced option.

The land quality wasn't bad.

Crop yields were decent.

The mineral quality was also considered good.

There was also a very small chance of mining gemstones, gold, and silver.

Importantly, clearing the land was the simplest.

You just had to turn the soil and dig out any gravel.

If you had fertilizer, you could use it.

If not, you could still plant directly.

Very balanced and worry-free.

[Grassland] had large patches of wild grass.

It would be very convenient if you had herbivores.

There was plenty of ready-to-eat grass.

However, if you wanted to farm, you would need to do extra weeding.

But this option had the highest land quality.

And the lowest mineral quality.

There were almost no gemstones.

But for planting, the effect was the best.
