His words made Seraphina's heart lurch.
She didn't know why she felt so guilty.
After all, it wasn't some shameful secret.
And yet, for some reason, she felt as if she'd been caught red-handed doing something wrong.
Of course, though she was panicking on the inside, she didn't let a hint of it show on her face.
In fact, she shot back defiantly, "My health is poor. What's wrong with taking the morning-after pill?"
Damian Fairchild's expression was placid, his voice light. "Nothing's wrong." After a pause, he added, "I just wanted to tell you, the morning-after pill is bad for your health..."
Seraphina Quinn found him utterly hypocritical.
She cut Damian Fairchild off before he could even finish his sentence.
"If you knew the morning-after pill was bad for me, then why did you trick me? Fine, you tricked me, but you didn't even use protection. What's with this nice-guy act now?"
