Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Decisive Son Gohan!

Mr. Satan swallowed hard as he watched Bulla and Trunks fight. He had been a spectator at the Cell Games, and that experience had shattered his worldview—especially those people who glowed golden and that terrifying woman. The memories were etched into his mind.

"Wait? Why does that girl look so familiar??"

As he observed Bulla more closely, his world came crashing down around him.

Is she the daughter of that terrifying woman?! Am I going to get killed when I step into the ring with her?!

Mr. Satan felt his future turn bleak in an instant. Nevertheless, he was forced to maintain his public persona, bloviating to the crowd about how it was all just "sleight of hand."

Bang! Bang!

The battle continued, but Bulla was clearly suppressing Trunks. Her relaxed expression made it obvious she wasn't taking him seriously.

The sound of their colliding blows echoed through the stadium, and the resulting shockwaves began to crack the reinforced concrete of the ring.

"Look! They can fly! They're actually fighting in mid-air!"

"Wow, if the Junior Division is this incredible, I can't wait for the Adult Division!"

As the battle intensified, the spectators stood up in excitement.

"HAAAA!"

Trunks was the first to transform into a Super Saiyan, turning into a streak of golden light as he lunged at Bulla. Undeterred, Bulla also transformed and met him head-on.

BOOM!

A violent energy ripple exploded outward. Turles frowned and instantly used his Ki to form a barrier around the stadium; the ordinary people here couldn't withstand the residual pressure of two Super Saiyans fighting.

"Incredible," Goku mused, watching the children. "These kids are so much stronger than we were at their age."

It was true. The second generation, benefiting from their parents' Super Saiyan genes, could transform with almost no effort. Of course, this also fostered a certain laziness; neither of them particularly enjoyed training.

"Hmph! It looks like Trunks is no match for Bulla."

Vegeta grunted, already planning a session of extra training for his son.

With his level of experience, he could naturally see that Bulla was just toying with Trunks. If she had wanted to end the fight, she could have incapacitated him in an instant.

Bang!

Sure enough, a moment later, Bulla delivered a strike that knocked Trunks unconscious.

"Whoa! The little girl won!"

"She's so cute! I'm in love!"

"Yeah, she's adorable. Hey boss, why don't we..."

"Heh heh heh..."

Turles paused, his ears twitching. What? Are there actually creeps like that here? I guess I can't let them live.

Turles cast a deep, chilling glance in that direction.

A moment later, a scream erupted from the stands. "Ah! Someone just had a heart attack and died!!"

Turles scoffed internally. Anyone who dared have designs on his "little silk overcoat" was asking for a death sentence.

Still, it was just a minor interlude.

"OHHH! Our Junior Division champion has been crowned! It's Bulla!"

"Bulla! Bulla! Bulla!"

The cheers shook the rafters. In this moment, Bulla was the star of the show.

"As expected of my daughter. But Bulla, when you spar with Mr. Satan later, remember to hold back a bit..."

"Why??"

"Well... he's very weak. And his daughter is currently dating your big brother Gohan."

"Tsk, what a pain. Fine, I get it."

Since Satan's daughter would eventually marry Gohan, it wouldn't be good to accidentally kill the man. It was better to give Bulla a heads-up, and Turles trusted her to have some restraint.

However, seeing the mischief in Bulla's eyes, he knew Satan wasn't going to have a fun time.

Sure enough, after Bulla toyed with Mr. Satan for a while, she "gently" tapped him out of the ring.

Mr. Satan scrambled to his feet, laughing loudly despite the intense pain. "Little girl, you're quite something! I admit defeat..."

This display left Bulla speechless. If her father hadn't specifically asked her to play along, she probably would have pulverized Satan's head right then and there.

As the Adult Division began, things proceeded similarly to the original story, with one major difference: Gohan's strength was far too high. Supreme Kai couldn't suppress him at all. Instead, Gohan broke free of the paralysis instantly and vaporized Babidi's two henchmen before they could even blink.

Vegeta cheered at the sight. This decisive, ruthless streak reminded him of himself—Vegeta's tutelage had clearly paid off. In this timeline, Vegeta had spent time training Gohan and drilling his own combat philosophy into the boy. Looking at the results, Gohan had taken those lessons to heart.

Faced with Gohan, Kibito felt an overwhelming pressure and immediately conceded. He was genuinely afraid Gohan might accidentally erase him from existence if he slipped up.

The Supreme Kai sat there looking shell-shocked as the group surrounded him. Once he explained the situation, however, they stopped pressing him.

"Majin Buu? I didn't realize such a thing existed on Earth," Goku said.

Turles immediately thought of the pink, round creature. After all, he had already dealt with one in the future timeline.

"Goku, you don't understand," Shin insisted frantically. "Majin Buu is terrifying! He has the power to instantly wipe out all life on a planet, and his regenerative abilities..."

As the Supreme Kai rambled on, the group got the gist of Buu's capabilities.

"Is that so? Then let's just go take care of him!"

"But Gohan killed our only lead. How are we supposed to find them?"

"Seriously? Kakarot, Piccolo—did you guys get a lobotomy?" Turles interjected. "That massive source of evil Ki over there is glowing like a damn lightbulb. Don't tell me you can't sense it."

Goku and the others looked slightly embarrassed. They actually hadn't thought to just scan for the Ki in their haste.

Soon after, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, and Turles flew off toward Babidi's location.

As for Bulma, she had no interest in Majin Buu—she'd already seen one die, after all. Not being a thrill-seeker like Turles, she headed home with local Bulma and Lazuli.

Along the way, the group had to endure Supreme Kai Shin's constant worrying. If they didn't know he meant well, they probably would have slapped him.

When they arrived at Babidi's spaceship, the hatch was wide open, signaling that Babidi knew they were there.

Without hesitation, the group jumped inside.

Babidi watched them through his monitor, delighted. "Hahaha! They actually came in! It seems the Supreme Kai's reinforcements aren't very bright after all!"

Babidi had no idea that their entry wasn't due to stupidity, but rather an absolute confidence in their own strength.

Soon, the group landed in a small room. As they entered, the door above them slammed shut.

Supreme Kai looked grim. "It seems we won't be able to leave until we defeat Babidi!"

The others, however, were completely unfazed. Couldn't they just blow the spaceship apart if they wanted to leave? Why make it so complicated?
