"Kira, what would you like to eat? If you don't order now, there won't be anything you like later." Leticia smiled and pinched her younger sister's hand.
"I..." Kira glanced at her sister, puzzled, and found that her sister was winking at her.
What does my sister mean?
Her gaze seemed to be pointing towards Sister Bai Ling; she must want me to send Sister Bai Ling away.
After all, my sister hates Sister Bai Ling, so this must be what she means.
"Sister, do you want me to send Sister Bai away?" Kira whispered into Leticia's ear, very, very quietly.
"No, I mean for you to go with her." Leticia said in an even quieter voice, "I want to be alone for a while."
...
"Really dead? Are you sure?"
"Although I don't really believe it either, judging from the intelligence gathered from various sources, that old eagle is indeed dead."
"There's no body, so I'm a bit skeptical about the authenticity of this death." Luna said to the man in front of her, resting her chin on her hand.
It was because she received news from this person at noon that she abandoned Leticia and came here.
Because this man said he had obtained clues about Elder Ying's whereabouts.
This was undoubtedly very attractive to Luna; she absolutely had to catch the culprit who caused Her Majesty to become like this and bring him back for Her Majesty to deal with properly.
But after she arrived here, she found the man standing on the rooftop, watching a farce.
Several factions finally couldn't hold back anymore and started fighting on the territory that originally belonged to Elder Ying. In just one afternoon, quite a few thugs had died here.
And this man had been standing on the rooftop watching for the entire afternoon.
It wasn't until the battle ended that he slowly spoke the news he knew, under Luna's murderous gaze.
Elder Ying is dead, and his direct subordinates are also dead.
"Unfortunately, there is no evidence, and there is no body." The man shook his head with a bitter smile, "Not even a bone left."
"Then I have no way of believing in his death."
"I learned something from some people; that old eagle had an unknown divine artifact in his possession. To use the divine artifact, one must pay a price." The man stared at his slender knuckles, as if talking to himself, "The price he paid might have been his own life."
"If you asked me to come here just to tell me this, the meeting fee this time will likely exceed your imagination." Luna snorted coldly. She had wasted an entire afternoon, and even left Her Majesty in Melanie's care, only for this guy to have her watch a gang fight all afternoon and tell her a dubious guess?
The man laughed, "Of course that's not all. Actually, I didn't really want to watch these people fight, it's just that my other employer set the meeting place here."
"Another employer?" Luna raised an eyebrow, "The time you agreed on with him wouldn't be now, would it?"
If that was really the case, Luna would absolutely turn around and leave without a word.
Is her time not valuable? Why should she wait here for an entire afternoon?
"In fact, the time I agreed on was noon."
"I've confirmed that you're a sucker, and I'm a sucker too."
"Can't be helped, the customer is God, and a rich customer is God's God." The man sighed and looked in the direction of the setting sun, "The good news is, I can fleece them for another sum."
Looking towards the blood-red sunlight, Luna saw a person wrapped up tightly jumping quickly between buildings, and their target seemed to be here.
About a minute later, this customer jumped steadily to the side of Luna and the man.
"You are a total of five hours and forty-two minutes late. Rounding it up, I'll count it as you being six hours late." The man didn't stand on ceremony and stated the compensation he wanted for lost time, "According to the rules, is that okay?"
"Is the reward I gave not enough?" The customer was surprised by the man's shamelessness, "And is that how you round up?"
"Right, I want a share of the lost time compensation too." Luna crossed her arms and chimed in, "This unknown lady, I hope you follow the rules. Late is late."
The customer, wrapped up tightly with only a pair of green eyes exposed, took a few deep breaths, "Fine, is this the helper you found?"
This sentence was directed at the man.
"Of course, Miss Xue is the most well-informed person here. If there's something she doesn't know, then it's even more impossible for us to know." The man clapped his hands, "Since the two of you have met, my mission is complete. I have a date tonight, so I'll be taking my leave."
After speaking, without waiting for any reaction from the two people present, the man leaped down from the edge of the high building and vanished into the shadows.
"Is this your hospitality?"
"I don't think he was lying. Our schedules are always full. Having waited here for an entire afternoon, he must have been delayed in quite a bit of work." Luna looked at the mysterious person in front of her and asked with some curiosity, "What kind of matter would make an Elf run to the Human World to gather intelligence?"
Yes, an Elf.
"How did you discover it?"
"The scent on you is very obvious, plus the green eyes that only Elves possess, it's too easy to identify." Luna indicated she wasn't blind. You didn't even know to cover your own green eyes; isn't that just shouting on the street that you're an Elf?
The Elf blinked her eyes; so that was the reason?
However, it didn't matter that her identity was exposed; the intelligence she wanted to inquire about would have exposed her identity anyway.
"Getting back to the point, I want to know if any strange Half-Elf has appeared in Central City recently."
"Half-Elf?" Luna narrowed her eyes. That's a good question. "Yes."
"How many?"
"Quite a few." This time, Luna lied. She wanted to know if who this Elf was looking for was actually Eriko, and what Eriko's identity really was, "What other characteristics are there?"
"Every month, there will be a few days of magic turbulence, causing her mobility to decrease." The Elf added, "She should have arrived in the Human World half a month ago."
"Oh, that's interesting. But aren't you Elves supposed to not consider Half-Elves as Elves? Why are you now coming to inquire about the news of a Half-Elf?"
That Elf looked deeply at Luna. She felt that the young girl in front of her, dressed in strange clothes, had hidden meanings in her words. "This doesn't seem to have anything to do with your Demon Race either."
"Just curious. I also have a few Elf friends, but their attitude towards Half-Elves... isn't very good. Yet you are inquiring about a Half-Elf, it's strange, isn't it?"
"As an intelligence merchant, your words, your curiosity, are all too much."
"Unfortunately, that's my style, otherwise I wouldn't be able to know so many things, would I?" Luna covered her mouth and chuckled twice, but in her heart, she labeled the Elf in front of her as 'troublesome'.
This person's identity is unusual; at the very least, she wouldn't be just some ordinary Elf Race member.
"She stole an important item. I want to take the item back, and then let her face trial."
"Can't enjoy rights, but has to accept punishment; the laws of the Elf Race are really double-standard." Luna said, not without irony.
"Under the law, even the Empress must accept punishment." The Elf glared at Luna, "So, do you have any news?"
"No, but I will go ask those friends of mine. Give me a few days."
