Chapter 299 - Unnamed

Chapter 299 Divination Lesson

Great Hall.

Aaron sat at a table in the Great Hall, eating breakfast and looking at his third-year schedule.

He had a thought form, which allowed him to handle two classes at once, but three classes simultaneously meant he had to give up one. However, he didn't want to give up, so he had to think carefully about how to maximize his learning efficiency.

Self-study was definitely not an option; even if he could memorize everything, truly understanding the knowledge required a Professor's guidance.

Catching up on classes was also impossible. Sundays were so wonderful, and besides, he was already doing the work of two people.

Just as Aaron was feeling a bit melancholic, Draco and a few other Slytherins entered the Great Hall.

"What are you thinking about?" Draco asked curiously. "I feel like you've changed since the summer holiday."

"People always change, but I'm definitely changing for the better."

"What do you think if I pretend to faint in front of Harry Potter later?"

"Childish." Aaron rolled his eyes at him. "Even if you don't like him, you shouldn't use such a low-level method. Besides, you didn't fare much better against the Dementor, so what right do you have to mock him?"

"Alright!" Draco shrugged. "Then I'll spare him some face and only spread the glorious deeds of Harry Potter on the train."

"Suit yourself."

Draco's lips curled into a smile, and he eagerly recounted to the surrounding Slytherins how Harry Potter had been scared witless by the Dementor.

More and more Slytherins gathered around, and Dracodisplayed a talent for excellent public speaking, making them roar with laughter.

When Harry and his two friends arrived at the Great Hall, they heard Draco's funny yet true story. Annoyed, they tacitly chose to ignore him, as what he said was true, and they couldn't deny it.

"Isn't that too much?" George placed his third-year schedule in front of him. "That's just Malfoy, always grabbing onto people's weak points."

"He was also scared quite badly when the Dementor came," Fred said disdainfully.

"But I was the only one attacked," Harry said bitterly. Nothing felt worse than an enemy knowing your embarrassing moments and spreading them everywhere.

"That only proves you're unlucky; it doesn't mean anything," George changed the subject. "Malfoy is still the SlytherinSeeker this time. As long as we win the first Quidditchmatch, let's see if he still dares to be so arrogant."

Harry nodded, his mood improving considerably.

Slytherin's victory in the last Quidditch match was entirely due to the advantage of their brooms. But this time, Woodhad a new strategy, and the key to victory lay with the two Seekers.

In terms of flying skills, he was confident he could defeat Malfoy.

"Let's not talk about that. Let's see what classes we have today!" Hermione said with a hint of excitement.

"We're fine, but isn't your schedule a bit too exaggerated?" Ron frowned. "You have almost ten classes a day. Can you manage it?"

"Don't worry, I've talked to Professor McGonagall," Hermione said proudly, glancing at the necklace around her neck with some pride.

"But just today at nine, you have three classes," Ron said, counting on his fingers with a smile. "Divination, MuggleStudies, Arithmancy. No matter how capable you are, you can't attend three classes at once."

"That's none of your business. Anyway, Professor McGonagall and I have it sorted out," Hermione said nonchalantly. Then, as if remembering something, she turned to Aaron. "How are you arranging your classes today?"

"I'll attend Divination Class myself," Aaron said with some difficulty. "As for the other two classes, it depends on the situation."

Hermione frowned slightly, then pointed to the necklace on her neck. "Why don't you come with me?"

"No," Aaron refused. "If I were to use that method, I wouldn't have refused that watch."

"What watch?" Ron asked curiously.

Aaron gave him a smile in response. "That's none of your concern."

At that moment, Hagrid walked in, carrying a dead ferret. Seeing them all there, he couldn't help but stop.

"I'm so glad you all signed up for Care of Magical Creatures," Hagrid said excitedly. "My first Class is after lunch. You must come.

I started preparing at five this morning. I definitely won't disappoint you."

"Can you give us a hint about the Class content?" Aaronasked awkwardly but politely. "It's not that I don't trust you; I just want to be mentally prepared.

In case you let out Cerberus, I need to think in advance which way would be easier to run."

Hearing this, the three couldn't help but swallow.

They had originally wanted to congratulate Hagrid, but now they were more concerned about their own safety.

What Aaron said wasn't impossible. Hagrid had a good relationship with the magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest; even Aragog the Acromantula would give him some face.

But those ferocious animals would only give Hagrid face. Seeing the students, they might not be able to suppress their bloodthirsty urges, and if Hagrid couldn't stop them, it would be tragic.

"This has nothing to do with Fluffy," Hagrid's small eyes widened. "The magical creature I'm introducing today isn't that dangerous. You don't need to worry at all."

"Really? Do you remember two years ago when you raised a dragon? You didn't think it was dangerous then either," Aaron said meaningfully, then looked at the ferret in Hagrid's hand. "If I'm not mistaken, this is the food you prepared for it, right?"

Hagrid subconsciously put the dead ferret behind his back, then looked at Aaron with a smile. "Very clever."

"May I ask?" Ron stammered. "How big is it?"

"I'll give you a hint: about the size of a Unicorn," Hagrid gave Ron a smile, then walked towards the faculty table.

"It should be fine, right?" Ron asked nervously.

"As long as it's not Fluffy's size, Abey can handle it," Aaronstroked the young dragon in his arms. If it unleashed its full power, it would be about ten meters long. A creature the size of a Unicorn could be killed with one claw.

The trio breathed a sigh of relief. This was the sense of security that came with having a dragon!

After breakfast, the students hurried to their respective classrooms for the first Class of the semester.

The Divination Class classroom was at the top of the North Tower. Aaron climbed stairs for over ten minutes before reaching the top.

But there was no classroom here, only a small platform where over twenty students were waiting.

Aaron looked up at the ceiling, where there was a circular trapdoor. The plaque on the door read 'Sybill Trelawney, Divination Class Professor'.

"Looks like I'll need to bring a ladder over," Aaron muttered to himself.

No sooner had he spoken than the trapdoor opened, and a silver ladder descended.

Aaron shrugged, climbed the ladder, and the other students followed suit.

The Divination Class classroom was like a mix of an attic and a chess hall. Several steps divided the classroom into different levels, with over twenty small round tables on the steps, surrounded by armchairs and cushions.

Red curtains blocked the sunlight, and red lampshades and tablecloths bathed the classroom in a soft, reddish glow.

A fire blazed in the fireplace, and shelves were filled with tattered playing cards, shimmering crystal balls, and various teacups.

"Welcome," Professor Trelawney descended the stairs. Her voice was particularly excited, yet somewhat indistinct. "It's so good to finally see you in the material world."

Aaron observed the Professor. She was very thin, wore large glasses, and had countless chains and beads around her neck.

Trelawney was a bit unkempt, very different from the Diviner he had imagined, but it was understandable; professional Diviners were closer to the mystical side than ordinary Wizards.

"Sit down, my children, sit down!" Trelawney said with a smile. "Two or three to a group."

The students dispersed, finding their seats.

Aaron chose a seat in the front row. Hermione sat at the same table as him, while Harry and Ron sat beside them.

"Welcome, my children.

Here, you will explore the excellent art of Divination.

Here, you will discover if you possess the Inner Eye.

Here, we will learn together how to foresee the future." Trelawney raised her hands, a dramatic smile on her face. "I am Professor Trelawney. You may not have seen me before, as I find that frequently descending into the chaotic and noisy campus life tends to blur my Inner Eye."

"Foresee the future?" Hermione asked with some doubt. "Do you believe it?"

Aaron shrugged. "The Magical World is full of all sorts of prophecies.

The reason I chose this elective is to foresee the future; it's very important to me."

"I wasn't asking you that," Hermione frowned slightly. "Do you think Professor Trelawney's predictions will be accurate? She seems a bit mad."

"There are two possibilities: either her predictions are particularly inaccurate, or they are very accurate," Aaronsaid quite seriously. "We'll know soon enough, but I lean towards the latter."

"Divination is the most profound of all Magical academic fields," Trelawney continued. "I must tell you upfront, if you lack insight, I can do nothing for you.

In this field, books can only teach you so little.

Many Wizards have special talents in areas like sound, smell, invisibility, and apparition, but they may not be able to see through the veil of mystery. This is a gift possessed by very few."

As her voice faded, Aaron noticed Hermione's expression darken.

Her greatest pride was learning knowledge through books, but Divination Class seemed to shut down her strongest talent.

"Lighten up," Aaron said, consoling her with a touch of schadenfreude. "After all, most Diviners' tools are just crystal balls; books are indeed superfluous."
