As always, every single one of them had come prepared with something tangible they could trade. The rules had been made clear from the very beginning, and no one dared break them. They made sure whatever they intended to exchange was already in their hands because no excuse, no matter how reasonable it sounded, would ever be accepted. Tessa had made that point painfully clear since the first day she started this arrangement.
