Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Curtains, Chaos & No Control

Jay's POV

"Wake up."

I felt a slight shake on my shoulder.

"Jay."

I opened my eyes slowly.

Keifer.

Right in front of me.

Too close.

Again.

"Morning," he said softly and gave me a peck on lips.

I blinked, still half asleep. "…What time is it?"

"Early."

I groaned. "I hate early."

He smiled. "We have a trip."

That woke me up.

Right.

Trip.

Mountains.

Finally.

"Did you bathe" I asked.

"Yes"

"Ohh"

"Why did you want to have a bath with me"

"Gago"

" Profanity"

" I hate you"

" You love me"

"Unfortunately, now go outside, I want to bath"

" I can see it"

" You can't, go"

I was in his bathroom, finally alone.

Warm water.

Quiet.

Peace.

I tied my hair up and turned slightly to grab my towel—

And froze.

The door wasn't fully closed.

My heart skipped.

"Who—"

The door moved slightly.

Keifer.

For a second—

We both froze.

His eyes flicked—

Just for a moment—

To my bare back and a little lower.

Then immediately away.

"…Sorry," he said quickly, stepping back.

I grabbed the towel instantly, covering myself.

"It's locked for a reason," I said, trying to sound normal.

"It wasn't," he replied.

Oh.

Great.

Silence.

Awkward.

Very awkward.

"…I'll wait outside," he said.

"Good."

He left.

I stood there, heart racing.

Why is this so embarrassing?

And why—

Did he look away so fast?

Bus Time – Chaos Begins

"MOVE FAST OR WE LOSE SEATS," Felix shouted.

David: "You're not losing anything."

Ci.n grabbed my arm. "You're sitting with me."

I blinked. "What?"

"I called it," he said like a child. "You sit with me."

Calix laughed. "You're fighting for a seat now?"

"Yes."

Felix: "This is entertaining."

The bus was insane.

Music already blasting.

Students shouting.

Teachers trying and failing to control.

And—

Curtains.

Every two-seat row had curtains.

Felix gasped. "PRIVACY."

David: "That's dangerous."

Drew: "Very dangerous."

Mayo looked at Kit and smiled. "We are taking that side."

Kit grinned. "Obviously."

I raised an eyebrow.

Felix whispered, "They're going to disappear behind those curtains."

David: "Ignore them."

"Jay," Ci.n said again, pulling me. "Come."

But before I could respond—

Keifer.

"Sit here."

Simple.

Calm.

Confident.

Ci.n frowned. "I called it first."

Keifer looked at him. "And I took it."

Silence.

Felix whispered, "Fight."

David: "No fight."

Calix smirked. "Interesting."

I looked between them.

Then—

"…I'm sitting here."

Next to Keifer.

Ci.n pouted. "Traitor."

I laughed. "Sit with Calix."

"…Fine," he said dramatically.

Keifer's POV

She chose.

Good.

I pulled the curtain halfway.

Not fully.

Just enough.

Felix from behind: "DON'T CLOSE IT FULLY."

David: "Let them breathe."

Drew: "Or not."

She sat by the window.

I sat beside her.

Close.

Always close.

Jay's POV

The bus started moving.

Noise everywhere.

Music.

Laughter.

Felix singing loudly.

David correcting lyrics.

Ci.n still talking like a child.

Calix trying to stay calm.

Drew laughing.

Mayo and Kit already behind fully closed curtains.

Felix: "THEY DISAPPEARED."

David: "Let them."

I looked outside.

But—

My focus kept shifting.

Back to him.

Leather jacket.

White shirt.

Slightly fitted.

And because of the morning rush—

The top buttons weren't fully closed.

I looked away.

Immediately.

Then looked again.

Why.

Why am I doing this.

"You're staring," he said.

"I'm not."

"You are."

"I'm not."

He leaned closer.

"You are."

I swallowed. "Shut up."

He pecked me.

Keifer's POV

She's flustered.

And trying to hide it.

Not working.

At all.

"You're cold?" I asked suddenly.

She paused.

"…A little."

I took off my jacket and placed it around her shoulders.

She looked at me.

"You don't need it?"

"I'm fine."

I wasn't wearing anything over my shirt now.

And yeah—

I saw her look again.

Quick.

But I noticed.

Jay's POV

This is unfair.

Very unfair.

He just casually gave me his jacket.

And now—

That white shirt.

Slightly open.

His build visible.

Not too much.

But enough.

Way too enough.

He is looking so sexy.

So fucking eatable.

What are you thinking jay.

Ughhh.

But.

Why does he look like that without even trying?

"Better?" he asked.

"Yeah," I said softly.

But my brain?

Not okay.

At all.

Felix suddenly opened our curtain slightly.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING—"

"GO AWAY," I said.

David pulled him back. "Privacy."

Felix: "They are hiding."

Calix: "Let them."

Ci.n: "I should have sat there."

Drew: "Too late."

I laughed.

"This group is impossible."

"True," Keifer said.

Mid Journey

The bus hit a bump.

I moved slightly—

And ended up closer to him.

Very close.

Too close.

My shoulder against his chest.

His hand instinctively steadied me.

"…Careful," he said.

"Bus fault."

"Sure."

Silence.

Not awkward.

But heavy.

That same tension again.

Always.

"You're still thinking about the morning?" he asked quietly.

My eyes widened. "What?"

"The bathroom."

I looked away. "…No."

"Liar."

"You looked away first."

"Of course I did."

"Why?"

He looked at me.

"…Because I respect you."

That shut me up.

Keifer's POV

She didn't expect that.

Good.

I leaned slightly closer.

"But that doesn't mean I didn't notice."

She froze.

There it is.

I kissed her again and she responded.

Jay's POV

"Keifer—"

"Relax," he said softly.

"I am not relaxed."

"I can see that."

I tried to move slightly away.

But the space was already small.

And he didn't move either.

The curtain moved slightly due to the bus.

Closing more.

Now we were—

More hidden.

Great.

Perfect.

Worst situation.

"Say something," I whispered.

"What do you want me to say?"

"Anything normal."

"This is normal."

"This is not normal."

He smiled slightly.

"For us, it is."

My heart was racing again.

Too fast.

Too loud.

Why does this keep happening.

He leaned closer.

Not touching.

But close enough that I could feel it.

"Jay," he said softly.

"Hm?"

"You can put your head on my lap."

" I am fine."

"Liar."

I looked at him.

Big mistake.

Very big mistake.

Because now—

He just pulled me on his lap.

We were just looking at each other.

Again.

And I knew—

This is going to go somewhere.

He raised his hand slightly.

Paused.

Waiting.

For me to stop him.

I didn't.

His fingers brushed lightly against my arm.

Slow.

Careful.

Like he was testing limits.

My breath hitched.

"Keifer…"

"Hmm?"

"This is not okay."

"You can stop me."

I didn't.

Keifer's POV

She didn't stop me.

That's enough.

I leaned in slightly—

Closing the distance.

Not rushing.

Not forcing.

Just—

Letting it happen.

Jay's POV

My heart was out of control.

Everything felt too close.

Too intense.

Too real.

"Keifer…"

But this time—

It didn't sound like a warning.

And then—

The bus suddenly jerked.

Hard.

Felix screamed from behind.

David shouted, "Sit properly."

Curtains moved and closed.

He, who was leaning on me landed on my boobs.

Noise returned.

Reality hit.

He pulled back slightly.

Breathing uneven.

"…We should stop."

He nodded.

"Yeah."

But his eyes—

Still on me.

Back to Chaos

Felix: "WHO MOVED THE BUS LIKE THAT—"

David: "It's road."

Ci.n: "I got scared."

Calix: "Sit."

Drew: laughing.

Mayo shouting something from behind the curtain.

Kit laughing.

Eman: "Eat."

Denzel: "Control."

I laughed softly.

Trying to calm down.

Trying to act normal.

Failing.

Keifer's POV

She's affected.

I can see it.

Same as me.

But we stopped.

That matters.

I leaned back slightly.

Giving her space.

But still close enough.

Always.

Jay's POV

I held his jacket tighter.

Still feeling warm.

But not just because of it.

Outside—

Mountains were getting closer.

Inside—

Everything was already out of control.
