Chapter 433 - 433

Eddie already knew about the commotion happening in the distance, but he chose not to intervene. It was always men who suffered misfortune, and it had nothing to do with him, as long as Mai Shiranui and King were fine.

On this day, establishments throughout South Town were attacked. It seemed Geese was sending people to carry out some kind of activity.

After his training, Eddie wandered alone through South Town, conducting an investigation. This was an economic hub of the continent, very prosperous. Countless people came here every day, hoping to make a name for themselves.

Where there is prosperity, there is unknown filth. Eddie wasn't here to be a hero; he was here to investigate the economy and, incidentally, discover some rare fighting styles and Fighters.

King of Fighters world? Eddie's memories began to gradually resurface. He remembered hearing about it before. It seemed going back was impossible, but this world wasn't bad either.

Eddie's plan was clear: first, train to become a renowned Fighter, then investigate the secrets of the Orochi Clan. If he could get a sample for analysis, he could follow the old Resident Evil path, becoming stronger through scientific means!

Before that, he needed to master the basics of fighting. Even Rugal, one of humanity's peak Fighters, might not be able to control Orochi blood, so Eddie wouldn't assume he was the chosen one.

It's better to rely on science than luck!

The streets of South Town were bustling. The controller here was Geese, whom he had met before—a man who was both a Fighter and a renowned entrepreneur.

"Catch her! Don't let that bitch get away!" A arrogant man's voice came.

Eddie turned his head and saw a Queen of Balls woman in a bright red vest running quickly towards him. An exaggerated belt, deep blue fighting pants, and leather boots stomped on the ground. Her gilded short hair was blown by the breeze, giving her a heroic and fresh aura.

Hero saving the beauty? No such thing. Eddie wouldn't meddle in others' affairs and turned to walk into an alley.

Unexpectedly, the woman in the crimson vest also ran in, shoved a document into Eddie's hand, and then dashed away.

Eddie blinked. Was she trying to frame him? So he activated his magnetic field ability, under the effect of a field warp.

The thugs behind him, armed with machetes and iron rods, passed directly by without seeing Eddie, not even glancing his way. They simply didn't notice him at all!

The crimson-clad woman paused, then curved a charming smile. "How interesting!"

With a few leaps, she jumped onto a building more than ten meters high and quickly escaped, leaving the cursing ruffians to no avail.

Clearly, the Queen of Balls woman was also a Fighter. As for why she was being chased by a few ordinary thugs without fighting back, that remained unknown.

Chapter 672: Mary Takes You Shopping

The woman in the red vest, who had vanished in a flash, reappeared, this time wearing a dark green jacket. "Give me back my stuff!"

Eddie glanced at the woman. She was heroic and beautiful. Compared to King's neutral beauty, what made this woman most striking was her identity—a Queen of Balls!

Without thinking, he packed up the document and tossed it back, then took out a medicinal cigarette and lit it. "I don't want to get involved in South Town's affairs. Don't look for me."

"Pfft!" The Queen of Balls woman laughed, her laughter vibrant and unrestrained. Her un-made-up face was fresh and radiant, her beautiful eyes sparkling with amusement. "Why are you so narcissistic? You can't solve these things."

"Alright, as an apology, this cup of coffee is on you." Eddie didn't mind. Mary? Indeed, she was quite good, a very pleasing Mary!

The red-clad Queen of Balls woman extended her gloved hand. "Let's properly introduce ourselves. My name is Blue Mary. I'm a Fighter and a private detective."

Eddie reached out and shook her hand. "Eddie Cai. Head of the Shiranui Style, a genius scientist, medical expert, artist, and philanthropist."

Mary smiled, her beautiful eyes curving into crescents. "You're really interesting. I've never heard of a philanthropist like you."

"I merely assist people with fertility. Because I don't trust intermediary agencies, I usually deliver the goods directly to those who need help," Eddie said with an air of righteous sincerity.

Pfft, Mary burst out laughing, her laughter vibrant and unrestrained. "You're really funny. Cheating is cheating, why make it sound so grand? Alright, you're a good friend. If you need any help, you can call me. I have a pager!"

Eddie looked at her with a puzzled expression. "What era is this? You're still using a pager? I use a cell phone!" He then took out his phone and shook it, seemingly showing off a bit.

"Ah! You actually have a cell phone! Oh my, is this the latest model? How did you manage to get one? What's your connection to the newly emerged Goddess Group? I hear all their employees are beautiful women?" Mary looked at Eddie's phone with envy.

"If you like it, I'll get you one next time. By the way, you know South Town very well, right? I need a guide. Would you be willing to be my guide?" Eddie invited.

"Alright, let's go, get in my car." Mary waved her hand, leading Eddie out of the coffee shop. She deliberately didn't pay the bill.

Eddie merely smiled. Women shouldn't get too cocky; he would get it all back with interest later. And this wasn't the first time; the most classic example was Ada, who came and went like the wind, stepping in high heels like a cold and glamorous goddess. Yet, didn't she end up pregnant with his child? Heh, it's still uncertain who will have the last laugh.

After paying, Eddie realized that the so-called car was just a motorcycle, an off-road motorcycle, which was quite flashy.

"How about it, isn't my ride super cool!" Mary proudly tilted her pretty face.

"It's flashy, but the practical situation isn't great. The structure of this motorcycle is too simple, and it's too slow. Changing direction isn't safe. If needed, it could be modified, but only as a collector's item; it wouldn't be very useful," Eddie analyzed with a professional eye.

Don't look at him as just a professional virologist and pharmacologist before his space voyage. During his long journey through space, he had learned knowledge in many fields. Without studying to pass the time, various suppressions would lead to madness.

Blue Mary, however, was displeased. She didn't like anyone criticizing her beloved car like that. "I don't believe it. If you're so capable, modify one yourself!"

Eddie smiled. "I can modify it, but there's no need. I always need a return for what I do. Unless it's a request from my wives and daughters; they are family, so it doesn't matter."

This made Blue Mary a bit puzzled. "You're married?"

"Yes, for an excellent man like me, marrying early is quite normal. Alright, let's go, introduce me to the businesses here." Eddie wasn't polite and got on the back seat.

Mary rolled her eyes but still drove the motorcycle, taking the man around South Town.

"South Town is an economic hub. Although it's called South Town, it's actually a city. Its area is larger than most cities, encompassing all industries, with many factories in the suburbs. The central area is the business district, where you'll find all the stock and financial industries. In South Town, you need to be careful of the local thugs; they are the actual controllers of South Town."

"South Town has hundreds of factions, large and small, but only three are the most powerful: Geese, Krauser, and Big. These three belong to one organization but are internally divided, forming three factions. Essentially, they are all working together," Blue Mary explained while driving around.

"Is South Town very suitable for building factories?" Eddie, however, asked an incredibly strange question, somewhat irrelevant.

"If you want to do legitimate business, you'll need to align with a faction, otherwise, even the regular conflicts will give you a headache." Mary wore a smile that was hard to decipher, seemingly in a very good mood.

"What? Do they also collect protection fees?" Eddie was a bit curious. What era was this, and such chaotic things still existed?

"Yes, Big's faction uses intimidation, Krauser's faction uses violence and beatings. Geese? Geese is very smart and has developed the best," Mary continued to explain.

"I see, so they hire people at night to dump trash and splash feces in front of factories that don't pay protection fees, making things as disgusting as possible?" Eddie thought of some mischievous methods.

Mary chuckled. "It's not that exaggerated. You sound so familiar with it, have you done something like that yourself?"

"Of course not, I'm a decent person!" Eddie retorted.

"Oh please, in short, South Town is very chaotic. Some people get rich overnight here, while others lose everything. These are all real. Only by understanding South Town can you gain a foothold here!" Mary parked the car by the roadside.

Chapter 673: Mai Shiranui is Startled

The two sat on the roadside motorcycle, smoking and chatting, with two bottles of iced beer. This little life was simply too comfortable. Occasionally, people driving by would see this situation and get the impression that they were a couple, who would have thought they were just acquaintances who had met less than half a day ago?

Mary was a bit curious. "Where did you buy these cigarettes? Where did you get the beer? You're a truly intriguing man."

"No, don't be curious about me. Nothing good comes of it. If you keep being curious, you might get pregnant," Eddie earnestly advised, though it didn't seem to have much effect.

"Pfft! Haha! You're really interesting. Such a humorous guy is rare these days. I won't fall for it, and don't try to fool me. Eddie, you said you'd give me a cell phone, are you serious?" Mary asked with slightly tipsy eyes.

"Of course, I always keep my word. You're a bit drunk; you should sober up." Eddie said, then took out mineral water and a pill and fed it to Mary.

Mary, instantly sobered, blinked her eyes and stared at Eddie for a long time before saying, "Mai Shiranui didn't misjudge you. You don't seem bad. I thought you'd take the opportunity to do what all men want to do."
