Leaving the village with a somewhat bewildered Sophia, it was already night.
"Are we traveling through the night?" Sophia asked. She wasn't a pampered young lady; camping outdoors was nothing to her.
"No, we just need to find a place to rest." After Eddie said that, he knocked Sophia unconscious, hoisted her onto his shoulder, and, pulling Jill along, used his magnetic field ability to float away.
If normal people can fly, they certainly won't take a bus; if they do, it'll be a private car.
They arrived outside a village that had fallen into disrepair. Occasionally, the wind blew through, but there was no trace of human life here.
Eddie entered the village, but Jill took the initiative, a graceful flick of her hand, and a gush of clear water directly poured out, cleaning the tabletop. Then, with another flick of her hand, the water was completely drawn away. This scene left Eddie a bit speechless.
"Can this still be explained by science? I finally understand why you're so beautiful it's like water." Eddie stared blankly.
Jill felt a hint of pride, lightly tapping her husband's nose with her delicate hand. "Fool, you're so smart, how could you not figure it out? No matter how amazing I am, I'm still your wife, and the one who loves you most!"
Eddie proudly embraced Jill, "That's right, you'll always be my wife, and I'll always be your husband. We'll live happily ever after. Wife, thank you, thank you for always being so tolerant of me."
Jill was a little moved after hearing this, then, both annoyed and amused, she poked the man's nose. "Oh, you, who told me I ended up with a bastard like you? As long as you love me, I don't mind. Hmph, you'll have to spend more time with me in the future."
It's hard to imagine that the always valiant Jill would have such a tender side. This side of Jill, perhaps only Eddie could witness.
Using the virus to secrete a certain substance, and then using a chemical reaction to absorb moisture from the air, just like a magician forming a water sphere.
Eddie understood after only a moment's thought. Well, now Jill was truly beautiful enough to make water.
Hilda silently took out some food, looked at the small stream below, leaped in, and after two minutes, jumped out again, clutching a few fish in her hand.
While Eddie and Jill were discussing hot coffee, Hilda was silently grilling fish and making fish soup, using some surrounding plants to cook the soup.
Eddie hummed a tune, supporting a somewhat weak-legged Jill as they walked out together to enjoy the delicious all-fish feast.
Sophia slowly regained consciousness. The burning fire, the crackling sound as the firewood burned down to the knots.
She felt a headache; she had been attacked. Sophia, having been a soldier, wasn't so easily knocked out, and to do so without harming her, that level of skill surprised her.
"Awake? Then get up and eat something. Don't be nervous, you're still safe and unharmed." Eddie's voice was a bit teasing as he sat by the bonfire, smoking a cigarette.
Sophia felt a surge of shame and anger, "You bastard, what do you want to do to me?"
"Please, if I wanted to, I wouldn't have knocked you out; that's no fun. Get up, eat, then rest. When it's light, we still have to continue investigating," Eddie said, exhaling smoke rings.
Jill's pretty face was flushed, exuding an astonishing charm. Eating a barbecue outdoors made her very happy. "Eat, Ms. Sophia. My husband won't do anything to you. With me, his wife, here, it's not your turn."
Those words were a bit hurtful. Sophia was indeed a beauty, but she couldn't compare to Jill. Jill was a true strong woman who had returned from various dangerous battlefields, and after giving birth, her mature demeanor made her appear even more attractive.
Even if Eddie had any bad intentions, if Jill couldn't handle it, wasn't there still Hilda? It would never be Sophia's turn.
The words were crude but true, a little hurtful to say, but they conveyed a very important point.
Sophia was so angry her teeth ached, but she didn't retort, only buried her head in the grilled fish.
And truly, Sophia found these fish incredibly difficult to catch. They weren't rare; in fact, there were many. But catching them was hard; their instant swimming speed was too fast for humans to react to.
Moreover, while this fish was delicious, it only lived in Africa, and no merchant would be willing to fish here; the cost would be higher than the profit, making it unrealistic.
Jill leaned against her husband Eddie. After a satisfying meal, it was time for an after-dinner cigarette. When a woman smokes with style, men have nothing on her.
Sophia looked at the valiant Jill, and sometimes she had to admit, this woman was beautiful! Even as a woman, she felt a little moved.
Eddie was still looking at his phone, browsing recent news.
Ada and Sienna had arrived on an unknown island, not marked on standard world maps. The two women were tracking Brandon, gathering intelligence about the small island.
The two women's skills and abilities allowed them to discreetly gather all intelligence, and even in any sudden situation, they could resolve all enemies through force.
If they pretended not to know, then Ada and Sienna, these two beautiful spies, wouldn't take it seriously. If Ada and Sienna were exposed, they would be beaten, with a very high chance of being beaten to death!
On the island, Ada discovered further research on the Uroboros Virus and immediately called January and her mother to crack the computer passwords and steal the data for their own use.
Chapter 534: Sophia's Descent into Corruption
"Strange, when did William come here? Or did Brandon find him? That old dog isn't dead yet?" Eddie was a bit confused. Marcus was dead, and his student, someone from the same period, was still alive?
"Are you talking about Brandon Tolotovsky?" Sophia suddenly asked.
"You know him?" Eddie raised an eyebrow.
Sophia picked up a grilled fish and took a bite. "I know him. He's collaborated with many people before. No one knows he's actually Russian; many people thought he was English."
"You've worked with him?" Eddie offered a cigarette.
Sophia took the cigarette. "He once promoted the Ivan-type Tyrant, a controllable Tyrant, to be used as bodyguards. It had been specially treated so that this model of Tyrant wouldn't go out of control and rampage. But we didn't buy it; this kind of biochemical weapon isn't reliable."
"True strength comes from oneself; relying on external forces is only a temporary show-off, and it will soon collapse endlessly like a mirage." Eddie gave a fair assessment. He himself had climbed up step by step by relying on himself and his wife!
"Your strength is very great. Are you enhanced by a virus?" Sophia asked.
"What do you think?" Eddie smiled, not answering directly.
Sophia exhaled a smoke ring. "Whether you are or not, I just want to tell you that your situation is very dangerous. They will find you, try to capture you, and extract your secrets."
"Is that why you approached me?" Eddie asked with a half-smile.
Sophia shook her head. "I'm not like them; forcing such things yields no results. Our family has no interest in such matters. Rather than developing such weapons, it's better to continue developing more powerful individual weapons!"
"What if someone in your family turned into a biochemical weapon?" Eddie smiled.
"Then kill them, don't let the family be shamed!" Sophia said with firm eyes.
"What if the person maintained their sanity?" Eddie asked another question.
He asked this because Sophia's brother, Piers, was precisely such an exception. Only those with strong willpower can withstand the erosion of the virus and control it. Constitution, that stuff really depends on luck.
Upon hearing this question, Sophia looked at Eddie very seriously. "You seem to be implying something to me?"
"No, just asking casually." Eddie shook his head. There was no point in him saying anything about things that hadn't happened yet.
Sophia lowered her head. "If you need my help, just tell me. I will definitely help you, but you need to pay some price or compensation."
"Then I saved you, how do we settle that account?" Eddie said with a mischievous smile.
"Aren't you asking me to pledge myself to you? I agree then." Sophia also said with a half-smile.
Jill yawned a little boredly. "No need to sow discord, we don't fall for that."
The two didn't discover anything useful by trying to trick each other, chatted for a while, and then went to rest.
