Chapter 329 - 329

Piers awkwardly patted his head. "Sorry, Sis, I have a mission. Besides, didn't Dr. Eddie go rescue you? If he hadn't gone, we definitely would have sent someone."

One was questioning, the other was explaining. It felt like Piers, who was usually quite decisive, seemed rather afraid of this older white sister.

Eddie walked over to the monster that had already been burned to ashes. "This is a virus that has appeared before, and we still don't know who invented it, but this strain is even more terrifying; it can spread through the air. We need to find a sample for research, otherwise, we won't be able to create a vaccine."

Sheva walked over and said, "We just encountered a fleeing person inside, who should be Irving. I suspect he released the Uroboros Virus, causing this incident. Furthermore, the rioters here didn't attack him, so there must be a hidden secret involved."

While the group was discussing countermeasures, Chris was also communicating with Command via radio.

Due to General Morgan's direct arrest during the Terragrigia incident, OBrien remained in the BSAA serving as tactical support. He had a clear mind and was considered an intelligent individual.

"Chris, we have received accusations from Tricell. They suspect that one of their oil field managers is in contact with unknown forces, and they have commissioned us to find relevant evidence. If you find anything suspicious, shoot to kill immediately. Also, preserve the evidence; they need to present these documents in international court to prove their innocence," OBrien directed.

"I know, but the situation is urgent right now. There are too many enemies here. If we continue to kill indiscriminately, it might cause unnecessary trouble," Chris said.

"Don't worry, there won't be an issue with that. We have already handled all the necessary communications. As long as enemies appear, you can open fire immediately," OBrien alleviated Chris's concerns.

Just then, Piers walked over and said, "Captain, can we send someone to take my sister away first? It's too dangerous here."

Chris nodded. "Eddie, could you do us a favor and take this lady to our nearby camp?"

Eddie dropped his cigarette. "Of course. Oh, right, you'd best use specialized, sturdy equipment to collect a sample of the Uroboros Virus. I need it for research. If you can't collect it, then never mind."

Jill naturally moved with her husband; she always felt there was a deeper meaning behind his actions.

Chris's Alpha Team and Sheva's Bravo Team joined forces to pursue Irving toward the town ahead, and they would also have veteran Josh from the West Africa branch leading another squad as reinforcement.

Meanwhile, Eddie found a car and drove Sophia to the nearest guarded outpost; vehicles were easy to come by.

"What business were you doing here before?" Eddie looked ahead, his eyes flickering slightly.

"I came to sell arms. In volatile regions, only arms sell very well," Sophia said without concealment.

"Are you curious about how I, an arms dealer, got cornered in a small town, or how I was blocked by civilians who didn't possess high-powered lethal weapons?" Sophia quickly added another question.

"Those weren't civilians; they were Majini infected by the Plaga parasite. You saw their strength after the Plaga erupted. When they turn fierce, they might even attack their own," Eddie said, unsurprised.

"You're not too stupid. I was actually investigating. Someone from my family went missing half a year ago, and there were recent rumors that they appeared nearby. So, I used the excuse of doing business to investigate secretly in this area," Sophia explained.

"And the result? Any new discoveries?" Eddie continued driving; they hadn't encountered any other Majini nearby.

"That cousin is already dead. He died a long time ago. The person controlling this area is a former Umbrella employee; I don't know who exactly. But many of his bio-weapons were developed by improving upon that foundation!" Sophia's expression became very serious.

"Knowing that is useless; it's pointless if we can't find the person. We're almost there ahead, so you can decide what to do," Eddie said, looking at the camp established on the wasteland in the distance.

Chapter 531: Clash Between Two Women, Jill's Disregard

Eddie shook his head. "I'm not interested. You go investigate yourself; I don't have the time."

"Aren't you worried that many people have set their sights on you? A human who can use viruses for enhancement, a completely new species—don't you know what that implies?" Sophia narrowed her beautiful eyes, seemingly hinting at something.

Jill frowned. "My husband doesn't like being threatened, and he's not the only one being targeted; we both know that. If you want to make a deal, you need to have integrity!"

"A region-wide firearm permit is very difficult to obtain. You can even use this permit when traveling to the East!" Sophia seemed very confident in her bargaining chip.

"Sorry, we have absolutely no interest in those permits. I am a civilized person; fighting and killing doesn't suit me. So, you go investigate yourself," Eddie waved his hand, refusing.

A honey trap? Sorry, in front of Jill, no other woman truly had the means or standing to execute one.

Sophia was speechless. This man was truly impervious to persuasion. Did he have any exploitable weaknesses at all?

Soon, a massive, dark-skinned man, two meters tall and wearing only shorts, stood in the middle of the road ahead.

His crimson eyes indicated that he was controlled by the parasite. With his thick layer of fat, even bullets probably wouldn't be instantly fatal!

The large, dark man roared, grabbed Eddie's car, and forcefully brought the vehicle to a stop.

Eddie immediately put the car in park, pulled the handbrake, and pushed open the door. The surrounding Majini immediately swarmed him, holding various weapons, intending to beat Eddie to death.

Sophia watched everything with curiosity, staring intently. Jill even leisurely took out a cigarette and lit it, showing no concern for her husband's safety.

Eddie walked over and simply slapped these Majini civilians to the ground. Their necks were twisted 180 degrees, but this death did not result in a Plaga eruption.

Seeing the deaths of their many companions, the remaining Majini civilians immediately began automatic Plaga eruptions.

A wave of sound passed through. It seemed these Plaga parasites communicated and decided they couldn't win this way, so they simply erupted.

However, it was all futile. Eddie killed these erupted Majini with single, bare-fisted punches.

Even those with sharp bone blades were easily smashed by Eddie.

After quickly dispatching these rioters, the large, dark man, clearly a more advanced variant, walked forward. He roared and slammed his head forward, trying to grab Eddie and strangle him with brute force!

Eddie sneered, grabbed the opponent's palm, and twisted forcefully, instantly wrenching the arm into a pretzel shape. He then punched the tall fat man, tearing him directly in half, and kicked the exposed parasite, killing it.

Sophia frowned slightly. "Jill, is he always this violent?"

"No, he can be very gentle, even cunning. Isn't it obvious that he's cruel toward enemies? You've been a soldier too; you should know there's no holding back on the battlefield," Jill defended her husband without turning her head.

After dealing with the ordinary Majini blocking the road, Eddie got back into the car, shifted gears, and stepped on the gas.

Half an hour later, the four arrived at the temporary outpost camp and found that large fires were already burning there. BSAA members' corpses could be seen everywhere nearby—the place had been attacked!

"What happened here?" Sophia felt very confused.

Jill pulled out her Samurai Edge. "It was attacked. It's obvious, can't you tell?"

Perhaps due to the enmity between women, Jill suspected from the start that the woman named Sophia had ill intentions, likely aiming to seduce her husband.

After all, pretty women should not be easily trusted, and naturally, the white woman in front of her couldn't be trusted either.

Sophia seemed to sense the underlying tension and said with a half-smile, "Jill, you look like you don't have much confidence in yourself."

Jill was unconcerned. "I'm just worried that having too many sisters will be hard to deal with, and you clearly aren't on our side. Women of the family, heh, aren't they all just serving the family?"

Clearly, Jill had no favorable impression of large families.

Alexia and Excella were both women from prominent families, and both women certainly possessed extraordinary noble temperaments.

Alexia helped her husband without reservation. In contrast, Excella sometimes had no choice but to provide some assistance to the Gionne Family that raised her.

She dared not raise excessive demands, but Excella couldn't completely refuse requests for small amounts of money.

Sometimes, watching those family members pretend to be pitiful while immediately turning around and using the money to feast and drink, or bully powerless civilians—this disgusting behavior made her nauseous, and she didn't appreciate the concept of a 'family' much.

"It seems, Ms. Jill, that you hold a deep prejudice against families," Sophia said with a cryptic smile.
