Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 – The Weight of an Unspoken Promise

The streetlights of London flickered like tired fireflies as Len stepped outside the company building.

His breath escaped in small clouds, dissolving into the cold night.

Behind him, the tall glass tower stood silent —

but inside his chest, nothing was silent anymore.

Aarima's words were still ringing.

"Len… you keep carrying everything alone. One day it'll crush you."

He didn't answer then.

He couldn't.

The Heavy Walk Home

Len walked through the dim, narrow streets.

The world around him moved fast — cars flashing by, people rushing home —

but inside him, everything moved painfully slow.

Each step felt like a memory.

Each breath felt like a weight.

And each heartbeat whispered a name he wasn't ready to face.

Kiara.

He shut his eyes tightly.

Even the cold couldn't numb the ache her name brought.

Inside the Apartment

When Len reached home, the room was dark.

He didn't switch on the lights — darkness felt easier tonight.

He sat on the sofa, elbows on his knees, hands over his face.

Moments slipped by quietly.

Until—

a soft notification blinked on his phone.

A message.

From Kiara.

His fingers trembled slightly as he unlocked it.

"How are you?"

Just three words.

Simple.

But to Len… they felt like an earthquake breaking open every sealed emotion.

He didn't reply.

He couldn't trust what he might say.

Instead, he placed the phone aside and leaned back… staring at the ceiling as if searching for answers he already knew but didn't want to accept.

Across the City — Kiara's Room

Kiara sat on her bed, hugging her pillow tightly.

Her eyes were red.

Not from crying tonight…

but from all the nights before.

She stared at her phone, waiting for the small "typing…" sign.

It never came.

A tiny sad smile touched her lips.

"Same old Len… still afraid of choices."

She closed her phone.

But her heart didn't close with it.

The Next Morning — Company Office

Len arrived early.

Too early.

The office was almost empty, except for light echoes of footsteps.

He needed silence.

He needed something stable.

But London had its own plans.

Because the moment he stepped into the main hallway—

Aarima appeared at the far end, holding a stack of papers.

Their eyes met.

And suddenly… every unsaid thing between them filled the space like invisible gravity pulling them closer.

Aarima walked up to him slowly.

"Did you sleep?" she asked.

Len shook his head. "Not much."

She looked at him for a long, worried moment.

Then softly:

"Len… you don't have to say everything.

But at least let yourself feel something."

He looked down.

His voice was low.

Almost fragile.

"I'm trying."

Aarima's expression softened, but there was pain in her eyes too—

a silent pain that came from loving someone who was drowning in a past not hers.

"Then start with this," she whispered.

"Don't run today."

Meeting Room — A Sudden Message

Hours passed.

Work tried to distract him, but his mind kept returning to that message.

"How are you?"

Len finally opened Kiara's chat again.

But right then—

a new message arrived.

This time, longer.

"Len… I'll be in London soon.

There's something important I need to tell you."

He froze.

The room suddenly felt too small.

His heartbeat hammered like a trapped bird.

Kiara.

Coming here.

To London.

The past wasn't knocking anymore.

It was breaking the door open.

Closing Scene – A Quiet Storm

Len stood at the window, staring at the rushing traffic far below.

Aarima was watching him from the doorway, unable to read his expression.

Kiara was on the way.

Their past was on the way.

And for the first time…

Len wasn't sure if he was ready.

Or if any of them were.

The storm wasn't coming.

It had already begun.

Chapter 30 end.

Chapter 31 coming soon. ।

Stay with the story.

Something big is coming.
