Chapter 16 - Renelle Form Gregory, Again

"Wow! House, where have you been?"

"I had clinic hours… What are you doing here?"

"I had to accompany Renelle. I could not leave her alone!"

"Thank you… You may go now." House stepped aside and left the door behind him free.

From the moment the door opened and the heavy footsteps were heard, Cameron knew that House had finally arrived. She came out of the room and went to greet House at the entrance.

Renelle had to come out and pretend to greet him with a simple "Hello" that House answered with a nod of the head.

"Renelle prepared dinner. It is very delicious. You should try it. Well, I have to go or it will get too late. Goodbye Renelle, I had fun going shopping with you today. Let us do it again soon~. Remember, if you need help you can call me at any time, you already have my number…" Cameron began to say goodbye and gave Renelle a strong hug while she started giving her instructions.

Although Renelle wanted to complain, she could not do more than listen to Cameron and pretend that she was paying attention and obeying. Cameron had behaved well with him today and she felt that this was the least she could do.

Renelle knew that if he had a daughter, he would want to have a Cameron to help take care of her.

Of course, now that Renelle had to pretend to be father and daughter it was strange…

House, or the clone, simply remained standing in silence. But Cameron asked him to help her call a taxi.

House, or the clone, took the phone from the living room and dialed a number from his memory of taxi services. In a short time a yellow car was parked in front of the apartment building of House.

Renelle accompanied Cameron outside the apartment to say goodbye.

While Cameron was leaving, scenes from the day passed through her mind and she herself wondered why she had done so much.

'Would I have done the same if it were another daughter of someone else? And if it were a son? …Yes. Surely I would do it, not only because it is House.' Cameron convinced herself.

Renelle returned to her apartment. Obviously the older male clone had disappeared. On the floor there was only a cane lying there.

While Cameron helped Renelle organize the newly bought clothes and they arranged the room, Renelle used her magic again to create another clone with the help of another cane that she kept in her house.

"Ah! What a day, I am tired…" Renelle let herself fall on the sofa, took a remote control from the crystal table in the center of the living room and turned on her television.

The television began to transmit a medical drama series.

"Ah… My food. I must not waste it. I need to eat it all. Besides, it is for House, that is, for me…" Renelle jumped from the sofa and trotted toward the kitchen, returned to the living room and lay down again, but this time with a pair of pans where the vegetables and pork ribs were and where the rice remained.

The night passed.

The next morning.

Renelle woke up, went to the kitchen and prepared a nutritious breakfast. Then she ate her breakfast while she took out her black book again and began to study it.

After a while, she left the black book on the kitchen table and took all the dirty plates and pans and placed them in the kitchen sink.

She raised her right hand and with her ring finger pointing toward the sink.

"{Scourgify~}" The air in front of the small and thin finger of Renelle rippled and, as if an invisible sphere advanced, it reached the sink and cleaned all the dirty dishes.

"Excellent~ now I do not have to worry about cleaning anything… If I had known that those things from that British magic book worked, I would have tried them a long time ago in my previous life…" Renelle complained cheerfully and arranged all the plates and pans in their places.

Then Renelle went to the bathroom and took a shower. When she came out naked, drying herself with a towel, she entered her room and opened the closet to put on her clothes, but when she took out some pants and was putting them on she realized the difference in size.

"Tsk… I think the clothes are already useless… But… Whatever!" Renelle threw the men's dress pants and took out another pair of girls' pants that she had bought yesterday.

But then she thought:

'Is the underwear missing?' Renelle left the new pants again this time on the bed.

Then she went to a dresser and took out the underwear that Cameron had bought for her.

"How can I wear this! But… The previous ones do not fit me now…" Renelle had the girls' underwear in one hand and a pair of adult men's boxers in the other.

"Let us finish with this!" Renelle threw the boxers and quickly put on the girls' underwear.

After putting on the straight silk pants and a cotton t-shirt, Renelle looked at herself.

"Uhm~ I have to admit that the clothes are very comfortable," Renelle said to herself.

After that she put on a blouse over the cotton t-shirt and then a beige trench coat.

Afterward, a light burst from her body and the appearance of an adult man of almost forty years old appeared in the room. He wore dark brown dress pants, a shirt with thin vertical stripes and a jacket of the same color as the pants.

"Mmmm, the shoes are missing." A voice of an adult man with a British accent was heard inside the room.

Renelle in Gregory form took some snow boots that she bought yesterday and put them on. Afterward, instantly, they changed shape and now they were black men's dress shoes.

"The energy consumption is acceptable. I can stay eight hours with this appearance without feeling tired and without eating. Perfect for a work day." Renelle in Gregory form took a cane from among several that there were and began to walk with it as if nothing.

"This time I will drive." Renelle in Gregory form exited through the white door of the apartment building and with her free hand she played with some keys. To the side, Renelle saw her car parked.

The car of House was a -Dodge Dynasty- from the late eighties in a dark gray color.

Meanwhile at the Princeton-Plainsboro University Hospital.

"House has not arrived…" Cameron sighed, looked toward House's office through the glass wall and rested her elbows on the crystal conference table in the conference room beside House's office on the fourth floor of the hospital.

"Speak. What did you do yesterday when you left with that blonde girl?"

"I only took her shopping."

"Doctor Foreman, does the attitude of Doctor Cameron not seem strange to you? What does the point of view of Neurology say?"

The young doctor Chase had a white disposable cup and was stirring it with a small spoon.

"That she is crazy," the African-American doctor with a shaved head said while nodding and crossing his arms.

"Why? Is it not normal behavior to help the young daughter of a colleague?" Cameron stood up straight from where she had been leaning on the crystal table and replied.

Chase and Foreman looked at each other first and answered at the same time.

"No." x2

"What? Would you not help the son of a colleague? Chase, if Foreman had a daughter, would you not accompany her if she needed it?"

"I…"

"I would never let Doctor Chase get close to my daughter!"

Before Chase could express his opinion, Foreman spoke first.

"Hey! You can trust me to take care of your daughter… At least until she is eighteen years old…" Chase first said with a serious expression, but then he shrugged and smiled.

"See? It is obvious that she has hidden motives!" Foreman accepted Chase's confession as proof and placed it in front of Cameron while pointing at her.

"I do not have hidden motives! Now, if you will excuse me, House asked me to check his email…" Cameron stood up from her chair and headed toward House's office on the other side and, without looking in the direction of Chase and Foreman, simply sat down in House's seat and turned on his computer.

Chase and Foreman looked at each other and laughed.

"Ha. Hidden motives." x2

Meanwhile on the ground floor of the hospital.

*Sound of door opening*

"Hey!"

"Oh! Close the door! Just close the door."

Wilson entered, peeking into a consultation room, seeing House sitting almost reclined on an examination table with a magazine in his hand and his legs crossed on top of a stool.

"Is Cuddy nearby counting to fifty?" Wilson entered, closing the door behind him.

"She knows that I arrived and that I am in the clinic, as she ordered yesterday…" House said and put a red candy lollipop into his mouth.

"The waiting room is full early in the morning… How long will you ignore them?" Wilson pointed while peeking through the blinds of the window that were now closed.

"I leave at four in the afternoon~" House ignored Wilson and continued enjoying his candy lollipop and reading the magazine.
