"It is not necessary. I can go tomorrow."
"There is no problem. Besides, I cannot let you go shopping alone."
'I am the one who cannot let you go shopping alone. Even though this place seems safe, one never knows!!'
"All right. I will go with you."
"It is not necessary. You can stay and organize your clothes."
"And how are you going to carry everything back!?"
"But…"
"Be quiet and let us go!" Renelle said loudly and simply walked out of the house.
Half an hour later the door of the house opened again.
"Eating seafood at night is bad. It can give you a stomachache."
"You asked what I wanted for dinner and now you come out with this?"
"What if I just make chicken…"
"Forget it. I will cook."
"Eh? You know how to cook?" Cameron was surprised.
Renelle walked toward the kitchen with the shopping bags, already ignoring her young doctor employee.
Cameron smiled and looked toward the living room where the clothing bags they had left moments before were still lying.
"Has your father not come home yet?" Cameron asked while following Renelle to the kitchen and looking around at everything.
'It is a very depressing and dull place. Typical of House…' Cameron thought while looking at the musical instruments on the wall and the medical books and other things on the bookshelves.
"Do you not see that NO." Renelle said. But she was thinking about how he was going to arrive if it was himself in another body.
Renelle opened the refrigerator and to her surprise it was empty. The poor white light that turned on when the refrigerator door opened only revealed a couple of beers, a half-finished bottle of alcohol, and a can of tuna.
"I knew House did not have anything at home. I am glad I came. Or what were you going to eat tonight?"
"Yes, yes, yes. Pass me the things…" Renelle ignored Cameron and began to fill the refrigerator with the purchases. Vegetables, fruits, meats in the freezer, packs of juice and milk, etc.
Renelle left some pork ribs and a few vegetables on the floor. After finishing organizing everything in the refrigerator, Renelle took the meat and other things and carried them to the sink.
"How can I help?" Cameron asked from the side while putting on a white apron she found nearby.
"Make the rice." Renelle only said while washing the vegetables.
Renelle did not want to make anything too laborious. She only cut vegetables and began to blanch them in the pan, then set them aside and started to fry the ribs with a little orange juice and other seasonings.
Cameron began to set plates on the table.
"Should we leave a plate served for your father?"
"It is not necessary. Just leave a little in the pan and let him serve himself…"
Afterward, Cameron and Renelle were seated and Cameron poured a glass of juice for Renelle and for herself.
"…. Tsk." Renelle complained inside upon seeing the glass of juice in front of her and thinking about the beer bottles in the refrigerator.
But when she saw Cameron smiling while serving the pork ribs with vegetables, she could not do anything.
"Woa!!! This is delicious! Who taught you how to cook? You are more talented than a five-star chef." Cameron spoke excitedly after tasting the pork rib that melted in her mouth.
'Of course. I used vital energy to improve the quality of the ingredients.'
"Mm." Renelle only snorted softly.
He had had a wild experience in his previous life. He had to survive eating insects with his head stuck in mud and bushes.
He could no longer trust food and drinks that came from other people. He had to depend on himself or he would never know how he died poisoned.
Learning to cook all kinds of ingredients he could get at the moment was a skill he had to elevate.
He discovered that a spark of vital energy could raise the quality of the ingredients. Besides, it was not a loss. Not only did it make the food more delicious, but it also returned more energy than he used to prepare it.
So unconsciously, every time he cooked he let out a little vital energy to wash the ingredients.
Although normally he would devour all the food in the shortest time possible, this time Renelle could only watch as Cameron's hands moved faster than his.
Renelle had to maintain the identity of a small girl educated in the distant Dragon Country and not eat with her hands.
"AHH!! (satisfaction) This is the best dinner I have had in my entire life…" Cameron leaned back in the dining chair and said.
"Mm." Renelle only snorted softly and continued eating calmly.
Despite wanting to maintain a cold attitude, her eyes shone with happiness, something Cameron noticed and smiled at.
But then the smile slowly faded.
"Can you still keep eating?" Cameron asked.
"Why else did I make so much food?" Renelle made a rhetorical question and continued taking another piece of pork rib and bringing it to her mouth without touching her plate.
"I thought the rest was for House…" Cameron said astonished.
She had eaten a lot, more than she normally ate because the food made by the small golden-haired girl was very delicious.
"I will leave a little in the pan…" 'Joke. I will eat it later. Technically I am leaving it for myself~' Renelle stretched out her hand, took the rice pot and served herself another portion on her plate, then took more vegetables and continued eating.
Moments later, Renelle reluctantly had to take the leftovers to the kitchen. Although she wanted to finish everything, with Cameron nearby she had to pretend.
"Are you still not leaving?" Renelle came out of the kitchen and looked at Cameron sitting on the sofa.
"I cannot leave you alone. I will wait until House arrives. How about I help you organize the clothes? Where is your bedroom?" Cameron stood up and took the shopping bags that were still scattered all over the living room.
"Eh…." Renelle stood frozen in place.
Renelle had not thought about a bedroom or anything like that. There was only one in the house and it was his own.
But now Renelle was thinking about how to explain that she was going to sleep in the same bedroom as her -father-.
Unconsciously Renelle's gaze went toward a short hallway that led to the bathroom and the bedroom.
"Take the other bags." Cameron did not wait for an answer from Renelle. She was already getting used to the way this small golden-haired girl spoke.
Taking some shopping bags and shoe boxes, Cameron walked in the direction Renelle had been looking.
Cameron passed beside Renelle and walked straight until she reached a door. When she opened it she realized it was the bathroom.
Closing the door she looked to the left where there was another door. Looking to the other side she saw there was only a cabinet.
With a puzzled expression, Cameron opened the door and entered, finding a room, but the scent of an adult man floated in the air.
The bed, although large, was a mess and unmade. There was men's clothing everywhere as well as some medicine bottles scattered on the floor.
Then Cameron reacted. This apartment seemed to be a single-bedroom place for bachelors.
"Renelle, where do you sleep?"
"I have not slept… I arrived this morning." Renelle was not lying. She had arrived in the morning and had not slept.
Although yesterday she still had the life of a middle-aged loser man.
"Then, where are you going to sleep?" Cameron left the bags and boxes on the bed next to the ones Renelle had just placed.
"Well… here…" Renelle said simply. She did not know how to answer so she let everything fall into place according to fate.
"But… do you not mind sharing the bed with… your father?"
"What is wrong with it?"
"No, nothing… I…" Cameron did not know what to say.
Although Renelle was not a woman yet, she was no longer a small child either. Renelle could already be in puberty. Sleeping with an adult man even if he was her father was strange.
Not knowing what to say, Cameron began to help pick up the clothes scattered everywhere.
"Do you know where the washing machine is?" Cameron asked while gathering the clothes.
"There is none." Renelle answered while she was in the closet pushing the little clothing there to one side and placing the new clothes she had just bought.
Cameron simply placed the clothes in the basket that seemed to be for dirty laundry.
In passing, Cameron threw the yellow medicine bottles labeled -Vicodin- into the trash. For a moment, Cameron thought House was on drugs and that it was necessary to check everything to get rid of the medications.
Renelle noticed but did not care. Maybe that medicine had helped him with the pain in his leg, but now there was no pain and his leg was as good as new.
With Cameron's help, House's room became clean, in quotation marks, and new bedding was placed.
At that moment the front door opened and the heavy footsteps of a man along with the tac-tac of something hitting the wooden floor could be heard.
